  1. Hard to go on anything like that atm. With the delay GW is obviously having some serious covid/ supply line issues so out of stock or no longer available might just be a symptom of that! Guess time will tell
  2. Sounds cool. I imagine a lot of people would love the opportunity to play them both elite/ vampire heavy sometimes and Skeleton/Zombie hoard heavy others. We can only hope!
  3. Oh god don't say that. Teutonic Knight Stormcast is something that could pry open my wallet pretty damn hard
  4. Bretonnian Stormcast still seems like such a weird idea to me. Right out of left field
  5. An army is wishful speculation atm. Though what spawned these rumors are a mix of things mentioned about Grugni in Chamon from the Fyreslayer tome. The white Dwarf article about Grombrindal the white dwarf popping up around the mortal realms among the other dwarf cultures, and most recently a spoiler confrontation brought on by the Bel'akor broken realms. Right now its just open speculation, no concrete rumors so I wouldn't get too invested!
  6. Really hoping to see Grugni establish a restored Karak in Chamon where he is enacting this plan of his. The idea of a new realm system in the vein of the old worlds great underways was a neat idea I say pitched. Even if it was some way to more efficiently traverse to every realm. For me there is no real wrong answer for what Grugni could be building. Really, I think it would be a great spin on the Duradin of Grugni to not be a dying race chasing restoration, as they were in the old world. There are still countless ruined Karak's for people to tell that story around the realms. But seeing a true, AoS Karak restored past its former glory. A beacon of trade/commerce/ and craftsmanship in an otherwise cut off Chamon would be an awesome place to build from. Then we can have KO, Fyreslayer and Disposseded trade enclaves within said city for the narrative rather then trying to tie them into the narrative. Disspossed staying with cities for the mixed races, and each dwarf having a faction of there own. The real continuation of the story not being the dwarves joining together, but their stubborn conflict of being more united, but still separate and argumentative. Of course saying it out loud means I probably wont see any of it now xD.
  7. Id lain Grugni's army to rest, but its honestly rekindled with all this build up. I agree with most everyone, that what's coming is new dwarves. Not tying them together. Worth noting in AoS lore Grugni trying to bring the duardin back together isn't something I see happening out of the blue. Kharadron for the most part hate Grugni, they shame him for abandoning the duardin during the end times. As a result their community turned inwards to the individual, and they're the closest to a godless people you'll likely see in AoS. Fyrslayers venerate Grimnir, and well they'd likely be more willing to joining an alliance with whatever faction is beneath Grugni, they're loyalty to the Slayer God and the search for Urgold is always going to be core to their interests. Dwarfs are less a joint Big Waaagh, and much more like a crowded Moot hall. Different factions being endlessly tied up in governmental book keeping, each unwilling to concede ground on a topic, but also too stubborn to walk away from the table. That's what I love about them honestly. If Grugni's real goal is to unify the dwarves, I can't at all see that being an easy proposition, outside of niche circumstances that are not likely to last. The book would have to be massive to host all the bold personalities of each dwarven creed.
  8. Ah come on GW. Did you really need primaris Ork boyz? The worst outcome for me haha
  9. Oh, totally missed that the vampire hunters are confirmed for Kragnos as well! So I assume that means some implication for Cities will be in there to a small degree, which makes sense. Always cool to get more cities lore to flesh out the realms. But yeah, Kragnos is feeling weirder by the minute xD. Greenskins are super Gorkamorka focused, so would be weird to see another godlike being bring them under a banner. So if he is destruction, I'd assume that means we'd see an expansion on the pantheon of destruction that wouldn't include orcs and goblins. Maybe Ogres would be involved? But not seeing it in the lore at the moment. They seem more to be there own thing like gargants. Wish we'd hurry up and get some nugget about Kragnos already to at least direct the speculation. Right now we have next to nothing
  10. Does have me wondering where destruction will fit into all this. So far we have Kroak and the Newborn slotted to be attached to the Kragnos book. So for sure a focus on Seraphon and Slaneesh who I imagine will get the "gold" treatment of battalions to go with the releases. Kragnos is still unknown if he's destruction adjacent, and we've yet to have any mention of Destruction grand alliance in any of the broken realms released so far.
  11. Welp, was not expecting that reveal today . Super cool for the narrative, and I think I heard Vince from Canada.
  12. Honestly me either, but I do like the lore implications of why Ogors tolerate Gnoblar. That, and the issue of the few gnoblar coming in the ogor gluttons box. That's why I always favored the idea of them being a "consumable" buff like an ammo runt.
  13. Yup that's most of what I want for gnoblars. Right now they just seem to be useless chaff at the moment, and just making them a "good" chaff unit would just end up annoying some Ogor players who don't want to play a pseudo horde army.
  14. I guess they're refering to the broken realms monday model? Suppose it must be that we're getting less reveals then could have justified a preview show. Still, always fun to see what new things they are prepping to roll out in the coming months
  15. Hmmm. Grugni and Valaya faction is certainly up there for what i'd love to see. Feel were missing the expert craftsman/home and hearth portrayal of duardin. Tech and war are really well covered by both KO and Fyrslayers, so that's what it would take for me to be eyeing a new army to collect. Ogor wise, replace or retire all the finecast models. Maybe a small release, like even a model or two, for both the Gutbusters and Beastclaw. As well as an Orruk Warclans style book to better flesh out each subgroup, and the mawtribe when they work together. Big thing for Ogor for me. Define what place grots have in the army. Currently they feel like a useless bolt on. I'd love to see them be less of a unit for gutbusters, and more a resource. Like ammo runts in 40k.

    Calgary AoS?

Good to hear! I'm actually in the northwest, out in Cochrane. But fairly flexible on where I travel for games if I can find a good group. I find I'm eyeing a mix of competitive and narrative. More of the later then the former, doubt I could play a game where I don't have some narrative involvement for the fun of it. Will keep both the places in mind though!

    Calgary AoS?

Going to bump this ancient thread. Been into the hobby side a ton for a while, but not playing as of yet. Anyone a part of a community in the Calgary area(s) in need of a new player? Interested in getting into a friend group I can physically play with once this pandemic is in the rearview!
  18. Don't tell me we're getting Grugni's dwarves Don't do this to my wallet.
  19. Good point! I suppose I'm just craving a bit of lore for the group dynamic of Gordraks Waagh. How it holds itself together, what life is like in the warcamp, the hierarchy. I imagine it's organized chaos, but would be nice to get a bit of world building canonized.
  20. My god What a frog Edit: Morathi scared of Big daddy Slann
  21. Psyched to see the next chapter and what it hints at. and I will admit, that Collectors edition is mighty sexy.
  22. So as it stands Destruction as a whole is one of the least defined Grand Alliances in the narrative. There is not yet a great deal of lore, or stories of defining characters unlike the other big three grand alliances. What relationships do the Mawtribes, in particular, have with the other factions of destruction? The greenskins seem to be the primary face, with a well defined and historical relationship with goblins/grots/ and orruks. Even gargents, to a degree, given their more nomadic and isolationist nature have a way to fit into a marching host of destruction forces. Ogres seem very separate from that hoard, how do they mingle and interact? What does a Grand Alliance of Destruction war camp look like?
  23. Perhaps! I do recall a line of lore about Grugni, that he abandoned/restrained from helping the Dawi in the age of chaos because he wanted to see his people advance. To find their own way. It surmised that the Kharadron are Grugni's dream realized of a dwarven people who adapted from tradition to excel. The trade off being that most KO usually spit on Grugni's name for his actions on their ancestors in the age of chaos. They're now a very "atheist" people so to say, as they got themselves out of trouble. Not any good. Has me wondering if we would see Grugni's faction be that marriage of old and new in the higher tech constructs. Or if it would be a return to tradition. I'd love to see some kind of mix of KO tech with dwarven traditional masterwork. Solid and stout, but techy/ advanced.
  24. I welcome an AoS spin on traditionally dwarves for sure. So long as it's evocative to dwarves in the old world setting, like LrL are to highelves, and it focus's on Grugni and Valaya. Home and Hearth, Creation and Craftsmanship. Those are the core tenants I want to see in new Dawi. We already have KO for the Dawi that embraced innovation, and the fyreslayers that embraced martial prowess and oathkeeping. I desperately want my civilization building dwarves, whos mastery of creation and desire to return to glorious mastery are rivaled only by their unwillingness to embrace change. :edit typo
  25. Rumor question: Heard some talk lately of Grugni, and some hints in recent lore about him doing something in Chamon. Anyone have the sources for that? I had laid my hope for old school dwarfs to rest when cities came out, but LrL and these rumors have me speculating again. Anyone have any info on that? Or any good AoS novels/lore involving Grugni?
