  1. Your point is valid but a bit of a fringe situation and to make it happen you'd most likely need 20 rasps to cover enough space to screen for those Reapers, so the points don't add up. Overall, with the new rules, BGs will outpace Reapers in almost all instances. Add in Scarlet doom and it's not much of a contest. I'm more joking about my buyers regret than anything, but this change is a huge buff for BGs and other 32mm infantry.
  2. That's nice. But BGs can be on 2 2s and have the same reach. I'm sad my Reapers arent doing that.
  3. I really think 30xBladegheist deathstar is going to be super viable and legit with new rules. Go all in on buffs and recursion. Put it new battalion, keep it at -1 wound, -1dmg, 5++ and have GoS support with lifeswarm and Lady O. It's kind of nuts, especially if you pop a lightshard
  4. Anyone here ever just buy 30x Grimghasts, spend the last week building and painting them? I'm so sad haha. They could have bene Bladegheists.
  5. I know you are using the models you own but this is why I think a unit of 20 or 30 GG or two units of 20xGG is so important. IMO you either go full MSU, no coach, or you bring at least one unit of 20xGG. That unit can act as an anvil/hammer. You're army really lacks an actual hammer unit and it doesn't have enough BG/Harridan MSU to be threats. Just my opinion, but it seems like your list kind of falls in between the defensive blocks of dudes list and the MSU spam lists. I think that's what's so hard about running both Lady O and the Black Coach. They are great all around utility pieces, but if you bring both, your army may not have either enough bodies or enough output.
  6. Definitely needs testing. I usually try to think about things like, if I get doubled would this unit have a chance of surviving? This list is high drop so I think it might be necessary. Turn 1 hopefully get shademist up and move some rasps onto objectives and GG up aggressively. Then you should be in an okay spot if you get the turn or get doubled, but I'll have to see it on the table!
  7. Opps! It's Emerald Host and Seal on Lady O and Shademist on GoS. I do agree 30 is not optimal for getting all in combat and buffs, but I truly believe, with how much dmg there is in the current meta, some matchups you'll need 30. I think most NH lists will need a decent anvil unit, and if you go up against armies with enough shooting, magic and combat, 20x GG wont last. Especially because you wont always get Shademist up due to our lack of bonuses to cast. Against some melee armies, which lack magic control and cant get around Cruciator, sure 20xGG will be more than enough but going with 30 gives me a bit more TAC feel to the list. At least that's how it seems in my head and based off my experiences with other armies.
  8. I think I've landed on my first 3.0 list with NH. It feels like a balanced list but I dont know if can compete with the top tier. It has enough MSU to get 2 to 4 charges off when you need to kill something, but it also has some defense with the GG block. Anyone have CC or think this could work? Emerald Host: Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief 340 Seal of Shyish Guardian of Souls 150 Master of Magic - Midnight Tome Shademist Krulghast Cruciator 150 Lightshard 30x Grimghast Reapers 480 10x Chainrasps 110 10x Chainrasps 110 3x Spirit Hosts 125 3x Spirit Hosts 125 10x Bladegheist Revenants 175 10x Bladegheist Revenants 175 Emerald Lifeswarm 60 Total: 2000
  9. I think people trying to playing aggro lists are sort of forgetting about an important AOS 3 tactic, the best aggro lists are typically 1 drop. It makes it difficult because the army enjoys MSU, but I think a "I charge you with a lot of dudes" list is best as a 1 drop. If you're not 1 drop, this list getting doubled, getting charged, would not perform very well. Just food for thought!
  10. I wonder if any units will be given the body guard rule. I could see Tree Revs maybe. GW has really been liking that type of unit this edition.
  11. I hear you, and I can see why it would be boring to some, not being able to kill much or go offensive. I feel like most 1 drop armies aren't the types that have enough bodies to fully block you on all objectives. Battle tactics and gargants seem like the biggest hurdle. I feel like when you do the math, Seqs arent that much worse than Libs or Vindictors. The 4+ armor is tough when compared to Libs and Vindicators but 4x Seqs is only 60 more points that 4x Vindictors. I think in this style of list the decision is Libs or Seqs. It's not like in other lists where the points matter more when your just using these slots to fill battleline. Maybe you say forget the 2 drop and take a more balanced list with some ranged support. You could go for an extra enhancement and do Call for Aid and Thunderbolt Volley: Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals - Stormhost: Hallowed Knights (Scions of the Storm) - Grand Strategy: Hold the Line - Triumphs: LEADERS Yndrasta, The Celestial Spear (320) Gardus Steel Soul (150) Knight-Relictor (140) - General - Command Trait: High Priest - Artefact: Mirrorshield - Prayer: Translocation UNITS 10 x Judicators with Boltstorm Crossbows (380) 3 x Praetors (165) 5 x Sequitors (145) 5 x Sequitors (145) 5 x Sequitors (145) 5 x Sequitors (145) 5 x Liberators (115) 5 x Liberators (115) TOTAL: 1965/2000 WOUNDS: 109
  12. Newer to Stormcast. I really like two things about the army, the Drop Style lists and the Stromskeep lists. It lets me play the army two ways, super aggro and super defensive. I've learned a lot about the drop style from guys like, The Stormkeep YT channel, but have people here had experiences running super defensive Redeemers lists? I feel like as an outsider to the army, Sequitors could be a bit of a sleepr unit. I understand they are bit overcosted, but in Hallowed Knights Stormkeep Seqs seem pretty interesting to me, especially in min unit size. It's a grindy army. Seqs get to a chance to fight with their 3 hammers on death and can self buff themselves to respond to what you need, not always relying on the 5++ from the Gardus bubble. They also have a chance to do mortals when charged and die. Again, very grindy. Any thoughts or comments on a list like this? 13. Do you guys think Gotrek's ability counters our Prophet's ability? It seems to because the wording makes it so the same ability can only cause a maximum of 1 da
  14. Has anyone done a deep dive on the melee units with the new buffs? I feel like Dragon Ogors with access to 2 inch reach are pretty solid. Dmg 1, but they are so undercosted, 9 of them are only 375. If you use all out attack and are near shaggoth their Warglaives due an average of about 20 wounds to a 4+ save. This obviously goes way up if you get the additional rend and reroll wounds. Do you think other units can outperform them? I really think a full unit of 9 has legit play because they are so undercosted, they count as 2 models on objectives and work so well with the new herdstone's rally.
  15. Hello All! Considering some BoC after the rule changes. Looking to play some games on TTS to see if I like the army. Anyone have thoughts on something like the below? My thoughts were it has some good screening and chaff that get pregame moves, Raiders and Beasts. It uses the Gors for Herdstone blocking and Primordial Points. Then some heavier hitters in the Enlightened on Disc and Dragon Ogors. I think I would try to use Dragon Ogors/Doombull as counter punch and they would be late game hammers that can hit back after you push out with Enlightened and Raiders/Untammed Beasts. 16. Thanks and congrats! I have to change the way I think about the game. I played BigWaagh and Bonespliterz with 200 wounds in 2nd ed and big hoard SBGL armies so far in 3rd. Looking forward to a new way of playing and not breaking my back haha. It seems like a fun army because it forces your opponents to make hard decisions about deployment. They want to castle up to protect against dropping Annihilators but that then plays into your aoe mortals. Then Raptors, like you said, demand attention so they have to push out to get to you.
  17. Hello all! New to Stormcast. I'm drawn to the army for the awesome new Annihilator models and because it's a low model count army. I'm soon to be a dad of 2, so pushing my SBGL 120 zombie list around isnt great for time! I saw a list I really liked at LVO. Does anyone here have advice for running a drop list like this? Do you try to be conservative with dropping Annihilators or usually drop all 3 units at once? Does this army have enough damage to deal with Mega Gargants? Any general advice/tips for first time player using this Scions of the Storm type of list? 18. Hello all, I'm newer to the pure IJ side of things. I was previously a Spilterz and BigWaagh player. Do you guys have any general advice on how to play a list like the below? Any deployment or general Bloodtoof tactics? I dont' know if this is better than double Mawkrusha (I only own 1) but going Rogue Idol over 2nd Maw means it's a pure 1 drop and it also gives me just enough points to fit in 15 total pigs. 19. *Edit. Found it. Lots of zombies and Death Gargant. Anyone have the BCP app and see the LVO Soulblight lists? i think one made top 8. My app isnt working.
  20. The more games I play with my army the more I think leaning into our strengths is where I want to go. The hard part about this is that AOS3 is monster driven. I love my ZombieDragons but I honestly think board control and objective play is the way this army wins games. 200 wounds. Wolves to tarpit and control mid board, recurring zombies to jump on objectives, Blood Knights to be mobile anvils, and Coven Throne to move around and buff Blood Knights, Wolves and GraveGuard. It has just enough punch to kill some stuff but it's true strength is playing the missions and getting on objectives. I wish the Coven Throne looked as cool as my VLOZD.... 21. Trying to take a harder look at Legion of Night and Zombies. Vampire Lord with Above Suspicion is kind of a fun little trick to help you get the +1 attacks on your zombies. I haven't leaned into heavy Zombie lists yet but this is where I would look. I feel liek Vanhels is the only thing that makes them viable. This list is built on trying to make Vanhels and the +1 Attack as reliable as possible. That said it still takes some maneuvering to work.
