  1. 4" and fly then, from Aqshy. Call it the Realm of Passion and it makes sense for my Daemons to come from there....
  2. You don't think there's a struggle for defensive durability in Slaanesh in general? I suppose the best defense is a good offense - snipe Arkhan the Black before he curse-of-yearses you, or blenderize the enemy's core units by flying over his screen. Skyre, though, still fleshmelts your general....
  3. Lately I've been running one Keeper and one exalted keeper; what do you guys think of two Exalted Keepers (with only 1 being the general with 2 command traits and artefacts)? Also for an exalted keeper with artefact - -1 To Hit in all phases, extra movement plus fly, or a 4++ against mortal wounds?
  4. Ironweld has steam tanks though, which are pretty funny. Stick an Ordinator with them, and they're even funnier. EDIT: Perhaps too expensive though. Can only get 1 without playing Mixed Order. WTB Ironweld Battleline unit, paying well.
  5. Hey guys! Not to necro an old thread, but I think this is the place to do it: I'm still interested in playing Ironweld Arsenal (and have been for an age) but the lack of a Battleline really hurts, as does the Battalion not working for matched play (since it requires more artillery than a typical army has artillery slots, if I am not mistaken). So it's really just Mixed Order, right?
  6. OK! I will drop the Allure and instead be more careful with my moving. Thank you!
  7. You say that now, but one of the ways my Exalted Keeper (Czumneth is her name) has died is being charged by 10 reanimated Hexwraiths with Danse Macabre, even with the -2. I fully expect her to get charged once she's deep inside the enemy line.
  8. Ah okay. Yeah, I'll probably not run them if I can avoid it. Still, is Allure of Slaanesh worth it if I am not running the -1 from Hellstriders or should I still take Devotee of Torment?
  9. For some reason I thought Hellstriders were mortal....
  10. I don't use Hellstriders as I am trying to run a mono-Daemon army, without mortals (yes I know blah blah it's bad). I was using the Allure to stack with Gryph-Feather Token to get a -2 to be hit in Melee, which seems really powerful. A -1 considerably less so, though the Devotee of Torment ability seems equally powerful...
  11. Guh. I already use the Invigorated by Pain and Allure of Slaanesh Command Traits, which are just awesome. This one is so good though I'm not sure if I should pass up on it.
  12. My theoretical Chaos Dwarf list would be heavily technology-based. I'm thinking of taking mostly Infernal Guard Fireglaives, Magma Cannons, Iron Daemons, and Mortars, with Daemonsmiths and Castellans as the Leaders. I could probably convince myself to bring some Infernal Guard Ironsworn as well, but not really as the backbone; mostly as a mobile wall, if anything. Then some mortars, perhaps? Really missing the Hellcannon honestly. Would this sort of "evil technology" army do well? Or are the Dawi Zharr lacking too many tools without the centaurs, Draz, and the K'daai?
  13. Oh man. I want a Chaos Dwarves army now but FW is soooo expensive. Worst part is I love their sculpts - the firepikes especially look kick butt.
  14. Usually I am the one doing the charging, as I can go wheeling in fairly easily with my speed and have no reason to wait until the enemy is done shooting and spelling me to absorb the charge. So the idea would be to move and Run, then pile in 6", rather than moving (without running) and Charging.
  15. Oooh, right, you can be selected to fight within 6" rather than 3. Does that mean you are also immune to being attacked first, since they can't pile in to you so you can idle all day at 5", then pile in and swing? That's ingenious.
  16. I think it is more "they must charge if it is possible for them to do so within the rules." I suspect that is the case, if it's not, can another enlighten us?
  17. They must charge if they are able, but the wording does not allow them to charge when they otherwise wouldn't be able to. Daemonettes can run and charge, so they will always have to, but "must" rarely overrides "can't".
  18. I would also encourage you to look at the Exalted Keeper of Secrets from Forge World. She's bonkers. Speaking of which, this weekend I had another 1k game. Got first turn by bringing 4 units (exalted keeper, keeper, 2x 10 Daemonettes) for 900 points with 2 CPs and crushed. Slightly awful deployment meant that the Exalted Keeper could run across the board and smash the general (some named character on a skeleton horse) in combat with her fight twice ability. She only needed to fight once to kill him, so the second volley was against the little Chaingasts, whom she wrapped up in two turns. The basic Keeper didn't do too much besides distracting the enemy and killing a few things, but the game was mostly an exercise of getting the Exalted Keeper into combat with stuff, smushing it to paste, and moving along.
  19. Hey guys! New Slaanesh mono-Daemons player hopping over from 40k for the new edition. I have played 4 games - 1 1k game against Seraphon the very day the new edition dropped, and got flattened by summoning. Didn't really understand what was going on and forgot to / didn't know to pick an artifact. My next game was against Legion of Sacrament at 1k. This time I was prepared - my Exalted Keeper had the Gryph-Feather Charm from Ghur and was -2 to hit, with the Pretenders battle trait, Allure of Slaanesh, and Invigorated by Pain. Next game was against Clan Skyre, 2k. I was a 1k with a buddy's allied Nurgle. Some tunneling rats with stormfiends instantly deleted my Exalted Keeper with mortal wounds and it was downhill from there. Most recent game was a 2k, full-bodied rematch against the Legion of Sacrament player. He had some terrifying spellcasting, and regenerated his hexwraiths after my Exalted Keeper killed them, using the double attack spell to kill her next phase. I used the depravity points (had like 54 by then, since my Exalted Keeper had killed a vampire Lord on dragon as well as the hexwraiths,), and summoned two lesser Keepers, causing my opponent to concede as my Daemonettes had ripped up his Skeletons. So, quick overview of my experience. I see some discussion of the Exalted Keeper; my current loadout is Gryph-Feather Charm, as noted, and the Invigorated by Pain and Allure of Slaanesh traits, giving her 1" extra movement, -1 to hit with shooting and -2 with melee, and healing. Though it can be unreliable, I have found that the sheer damage she can cause means I will get a few wounds back per combat phase most likely. Other Artefacts I have been considering include the Doppleganger Cloak, decreasing her durability against shooting but allowing her to annihilate enemies in CC irrespective of order; the Igneous Plate, since 4+ against mortal wounds seems neat, or... well basically there are quite a few. Thoughts? I am mostly concerned with her durability, since buffing her attacks feels unnecessary and buffing her speed can be done with Cogs or whatever. Though cogs + thermalrider cloak would be hilarious for 20" move with Fly...
