  1. When the fish get too big, we're gonna need a bigger boat
  2. Souretongue question - Does he inspire only after the Activation is complete? If not, there is no reason to ever look at his uninspired card face. He inspires after "an activation" which means even if the opponent goes first, he inspires instantly. The only way to get a shot at him on one Dodge is to hit him with your first attacker and rule that he doesn't inspire until the activation is fully completed.
  3. Sure! I'm making some changes (just beat the Gitz 8-4 and want to adjust), but current deck is: O: Bigger They Are, Precise Use, Escalation, Poised to Strike, Well-Guarded, Master of War, Superior Tactician, Treacherous Foe, Swarming Spirits, Chosen Champion, Undefeated, Death Sentence U: Awakened Weapon, Driven by Hatred, Inescapable Vengeance, Opportunist, Great Fortitude, A Destiny to Meet, Sadistic Strike, Incredible Strength, Creeping Terror, Vampiric Weapon G: Howling Vortex, Distraction, Vengeful Curse, Inspiration Strikes, Shardfall, Rending Scream, Endless Malice, Sudden Appearance, Maddening Cackle, Drifting Advance
  4. I bought them during the Great Deception (End Times).
  5. Hi all. I finally decided to attack my Legions army. I have all the models, including the full Nighthaunt range, so I can do whatever I want. I'm still confused as heck as to how to actually build a list. With all the allegiance, alliance, magic, Realm, battalion, etc. stuff it's hard to know if I'm doing it right at all, but that's not the point of this post. I'm writing here to see what I'm missing about Morghasts. I have 12 so I was excited to finally put them in a list, but when I saw their points I was stunned. How in the holy schnickschnack are they 110pts each?!!?! What am I not getting?
  6. As soon as I read that card I thought "Well, there's one that will cause unresolvable arguments - I'm not using it."
  7. I'm about a dozen games in with them now, and while I'm certainly not claiming to be some sort of gaming genius, I'm winning 4 out of 5, and pretty easily at that. I take on the Gitz today, so we'll see if that changes. As with all my warbands, I am completely ignoring the objectives on the board. The game is in a state where trying to hold them is largely folly, so I don't waste any effort trying. I go full on aggressive, with the key being Varclav. I don't care if the Queen dies. In fact, I often surprise my opponents with how I use her. They expect a leader to be played cautiously, and they also tend to hunt leaders when they can, so using her the way I do throws them off. My objective deck is weighted toward easy-to-score immediate cards, with Superior Tactician added for a boost. I usually score 8-10 of my objectives, and often score them all. My average final score is around 15-7. Not overwhelming or massive, but solid.
  8. Are they offering free replacements for the defective ones?
  9. If that's how it's phrased, then yes. It still gives an advantage in that you may get your opponent to take a different action than he wanted.
  10. Nothing evil about it. Just a different perspective on a myth.
  11. There woukd be better ways to phrase it. Example : "Counts as having a supporting fighter. If he already has one or more supporting fighters, he counts as having one more."
  12. In terms of marketing, though, it can't be. AoS doesn't have Orks.
  13. I'm excited for new Slaanesh stuff because it means I'll finally be able to combine it with all the cool recent Nurgle stuff to do a proper STD army.
  14. I would give GW direct access to my bank account if they did. One of my top 2 favorite games ever.
  15. I agree. More than that, though, for me, is the ability to experiment with paint schemes and techniques on a small set of models before I apply my learnings to a full AoS army. I have several thousand points of Nighthaunt sitting on a shelf, not even primed. Now that I've got the Thorns, I can try things small first. Also, since I get all the warbands, I am learning that I like painting things I had not considered before. The two Khorne warbands we so much fun to paint! Now I want to paint the Khorne stuff from the AoS 1.0 box that had previously just been set aside. I think Underworlds is a really, really great game on its own merits and needs no gaming connection to AoS. I enjoy the heck out of it. It's cross over to AoS for me has nothing to do with rules for my armies. It's about the hobby crossover.
  16. I'm just going by English. GW may well mean something other than what they have printed on the card, but (other than words that have been (re)defined within the rules) words mean what they mean in the language in which they are printed out spoken. ?‍♂️
  17. I'm saying this not as a "14 year old boy" but as a supporter of both tradition and courage: I am glad they kept the female chest anatomy (got censored for using the br-word that is in no way dirty or slang ?). I have liked the general style and background of Slaanesh since the Realm of Chaos books came out. When it appeared GW was going to take some of that away, I was bummed. If they are keeping it, then hats off to them.
  18. The phrase is "additional supporting fighter." It isn't just "additional fighter." If there is no supporting fighter at all, then you can't have an additional one.
  19. Related - Is this a first? Are there any other AoS kits where the only place to get their rules is in the assembly booklet that comes with the model? I'm concerned I may have thrown out variant rules for other models by mistake. Crawlock and the other "named" Nighthaunt guys, maybe?
  20. I just got my store birthday stuff. The Guardian model comes with an option not in the Nighthaunt book. I don't want to have to save the little assembly booklet that came with the model, but that's the only place where the rules are. Anyone heard when we'll see this option in Builder or on the site for download?
  21. And an unneeded one for one of the top warbands (Skaven). Not a great solution.
  22. Some of the spells are built in for the caster, and thus do not eat a card and can be reused. Agreed, though. I avoid the 50/50 cards whenever I can. I'm more concerned about the token mechanic. Sure, my Guard are loving it, but Skaven don't need the help. Hungering Skaven charging and killing two fighters per turn with Heroslayer? No thanks.
