  1. Enhanced tide effect for Deepkin in round 1 is apparently that friendly models can not be targeted by enemy units that are more than 12 inches away. So like grinning blades but better.
  2. 826 is good sample size but bare in mind the honest wargamer stats now have over 2519 players covered and 3800 armies being used at a 5 person event. So whilst that is purely competitive players it’s a much larger data set than the goonhammer one for aos. The goonhammer survey is 826 players only 17 percent of which played 13 games in the last 12 months ie 140 tournament players vs the 2519 on the hwg stats
  3. Apparently the summer tomes are slaves to darkness and sylvaneth (I have this second hand not first hand)
  4. I’m pretty certain that the reason only idk has new cover art is all the other 3 are getting a unit which we don’t know about yet, eg Maggotkin cover was the new mini which came out with the tome
  5. It would be crazy if The Old World didn’t use most of the new Soulblight range to help the game launch with a decent number of factions. Do a couple of special fantasy characters like Vlad and your done
  6. I’m more saying dark elf based on the sister of slaughter hero they previewed on New Year’s Day. Hints at something elfy. but I think we’re basically in the dark at this point with no solid rumours beyond what’s been confirmed
  7. So with ossiarch confirmed as a white dwarf update I think we can assume rumours of new bonereaper models in 2022 are false. so we are left with idk fyreslayers and nighthaunt books to come. and then some sort of dark elf release maybe ?
  8. I think they’ve reached a point where they are close to a point where they can’t realistically support all the books in a one edition cycle with 24 tomes now in play. i still think it’s likely that in fullness of time we see chaos dwarfs, malerion elves and kurnothi but I could see all three of those as going into existing tomes (slaves, dok, sylvaneth)
  9. I’d actually question the idea that each faction should even get a tome each edition. Idk and Maggotkin never got a second Ed tome and actually I think that’s fine if the books is well written when it initially dropped (eg Maggotkin). I don’t want to see books every 3 years if there’s no reason for them. 5 is fine for books when there’s nothing incompatible about their mechanics and the edition. as for new model releases I think it really depends on if expanded factions is more fun than brand new ones. Third is probably the first time gw could consider not launching 2 brand new concepts each year and could probably go down to one if they wanted as the games matured
  10. Am I right in thinking that the only known books for aos next year based on Whitefang leaks are 2022 idk fyreslayers obr Lumineth ?
  11. What I really want for Fyreslayers is a new Dwarf Flame Cannon. if it was a dual warscroll kit it would add a lot to the army whilst paying tribute to an iconic WFB dwarf unit.
  12. Ok I can wait till New Years. Agree that tomorrow is probably just the eldar vs chaos space marines stuff
  13. I’m hoping we see confirmation tomorrow that idk / fyreslayers are next up
  14. The only thing I believe currently about aos rumours is that idk/fyreslayers and either obr or nighthaunt are the next 3/4 books. and that we’ll probably see malerion /chaos dwarfs and lumineth wave 3 this edition. Beyond that I think it’s a great unknown
  15. GUO loses command ability Glottkin CA changes to be a counter charge (like ironsunz in ironjawz) one of the wheel steps is a 4 up ward for MAGGOTKIN HEROS
  16. I don’t feel they need an update as much as say Beasts and Nighthaunt but then I think with OBR it’s more a case of as with Lumineth that they’ll probably get a wave 2 which expands there playstyle. as for competitiveness the book is currently a bit too reliant on Nagash to be successful but I agree it’s mostly fine .
  17. From a publishing pov I understand idk coming after nurgle as idk have the most need of incorporating the broken realms content back into the book in order to sell it to new customers as the current book is full of invalid content. Obr have a core mechanic which needs an overhaul and a reported wave 2 to come to justify their slot. Fyreslayers really don’t feel like they need an update as bad as some others though. So I can only assume they are early because they genuinely are getting more than one model, a Redone Flame Cannon to go with the hero perhaps ? In order to encourage the range to sell more.
  18. Lots of rules rumours tonight although I have no idea of original source so no idea if these are accurate or not. kragnos to gain the counts as 20 models rule foxes to lose the move in opponents turn rule pigs up 30 and Krusha 70 as above pink horrors up 40 to 255 All sound good to me if true
  19. Ogors mostly need 1. new butcher 2. new slaughtermaster 3. new fire belly 4. new frostsabres 5. new maneaters 6. new yhetees 7. new ghorgons 8. a named character that would actually be quite a big release. Hopefully we get it one day. At one point I thought we had heard rumours of a new start collecting for them similar to the Slaves to Darkness one but with all new stuff in it. But maybe that’s not happening. I have a feeling most of the 2022 focus will be on 40K and 30k. We did really well in 2021 getting lumineth, soulblight, hedonites, stormcast and kruleboyz. 5 huge new range expansions is close to the best year we’ve ever had equally 2018 the launch year for aos2. We had 4 armies in 2019 and I’d assume it will be about the same in 2022. Basically we got 13 model waves in aos1 and 11 in aos2 (plus a smattering of characters) Aos1 2015 1 Stormcast 1 2 Khorne bloodbound 3 Slaves to darkness 1 2016 4 Fyreslayers 5 Ironjawz 6 Stormcast 1.5 7 Sylvaneth 2017 8 Desciples of tzeentch 9 Stormcast vanguard 2 10 Kharadron overlords 2018 11 Maggotkin of nurgle 12 Daughters of khaine 13 Idoneth deepkin Aos2 1 Stormcast 3 2 Nighthaunt 2019 3 Gloomspite gitz 4 Hedonites of slaanesh 5 OBR 6 Slaves 2 warcry 2020 7 lumineth 8 Sons of Behemat 2021 9 Hedonites 2 10 lumineth 2 11 soulblight Aos3 1 Stormcast 5 2 Orruk warclans 2 2022 Still to come ? Complete guesses and not rumours 3. Obr wave 2 4. malerion wave 1 5. Lumineth wave 3 6. Chaos dwarves ? that would leave space for 5 other releases in third ed eg Skaven or seraphon or something new
  20. Oh sad face for me being happy about ogors - guess that means that part of the rumour was untrue. Sigh ah well better to know than live in false hope!
  21. I’m super suprised that whitefang confirmed that but am very happy if we are getting an Ogor refresh.
  22. Apparently glottkin and guo stats also in the wild now. Rumour is glottkin is circa 700 points and guo is circa 450
  23. Mark Bedford and the gw team 100 percent designed all the units for Kislev and cathay factions. Kislev is coming as a model range. The design process for both factions started with in effect gw writing 8th Ed army books in draft for both factions inc stories rules and concept art and giving them to CA.
  24. So no Xmas boxes in the Xmas guide, but can confirm krondys is 95 gbp as is dungeonbowl. I’ve been told not to expect any Xmas boxes this year as factory didn’t have capacity so your more likely to see more 30 percent off sale bundles instead to move existing stock.
  25. I’d rather events were priced so that TO’s are not losing money running events. Even if they are having to do a lot of unpaid work and losing some hair over it all. I think it’s probably important that we have a variety of tiers of events with associated costs to keep the hobby accessible but also have options for nicer events cheaper events - tables/chairs/ but no food and Bring your own terrain and mats medium size events - tables/chairs/scenery and mats. premium events tables/chairs/scenery/mats and food or even entertainment in the evening what I don’t particularly want to pay for is bigger events. I’d much rather we had 4 60 man events in the uk each month than 1 200 man event.
