  1. I'm not usually the sunshine guy but arguing whether our 3 year old book with models old enough to drink ( I think) has a 53 or 60%win rate is a pretty good spot. Honestly I would hope we're closer to 50 than 60. I wanna feel like I won the game, not my army.
  2. Not to be too dramatic but I quit 40k because being a xenos player already made me feel like a second class customer. I get that old familiar feeling...
  3. Browser. Which isn't a real problem but worth mentioning since anyone who doesn't have twitter probably doesn't have the app.
  4. I may just be bad at twitter but it seems if you dont have an account you cant scroll that far so unless you look right after a tournament or have a link you won't be able to see the lists.
  5. Im more excited about the super tiny arcane cataclysm FAQ fixing the missing beasts keywords on tzaangor. I dont play them but it's a real relief for any potential future khorngor (if they ever exist T_T)
  6. I personally think even with the extra damage output gors are best used as screens with shields. Brayherd ambush means we also have easier access to the only bonus point battle tactic in this season (2 gallatian veteran units in your opponent's territory) depending on deployment map. Bestigor are amazing damage wise but suffer from needing to be battle line to really benefit and then getting absolutely dumpstered by bounty hunters. Screen screen screen. Shaggoth sitting on the stone roaring and cutting himself seems the way to go. Heal spell or hailstorm plus end of turn healing means he should be quite happy to do it. Mathematically speaking the Beastlord is actually the most dangerous wielder of the gnarlblade but that's if he can get into a target and fight before them of course. Edit to add: purple sun nerfed and more important I downloaded the arcane cataclysm FAQ. Turns out tzaangor DO have the beasts of chaos and brayherd keyword!
  7. Shaggoth with Hailstorm is pretty great. I don't know if it's worth losing gavespawns CA because numbers wise it's better than AoA in most situations but the added consistency would be nice. I'll have to try it some time since I've really moved to a control based list anyway and hailstorm combined with blood-slick ground can really neuter your opponents biggest baddest unit. Currently I'm running this with the sole intention of clogging things up and getting my bullgor/bestigor into favorable fights. No bounty hunters due to my local meta being really light on veterans and ambushing basically the beastlords whole battle regiment. I think a Dogor or enlightened on disk list is probably actually the best right now but this is what I have AND I really like the brayherd aspect of the army. - Army Faction: Beasts of Chaos - Subfaction: Gavespawn - Grand Strategy: Take What’s Theirs - Triumph: Bloodthirsty LEADERS Beastlord (95)* - General - Command Traits: Unravelling Aura - Artefacts of Power: Mutating Gnarlblade Dragon Ogor Shaggoth (155)* - Spells: Hailstorm Slaves to Darkness Daemon Prince (210)* - Mark of Chaos: Khorne - Hellforged Sword and Malefic Talons Great Bray-Shaman (100)** - Spells: Wild Rampage BATTLELINE Bestigors (250)* - 2 x Brayhorn - 2 x Banner Bearer Gors (70)* - Banner Bearer - Brayhorn - Gor Blade and Beastshield Gors (70)* - Banner Bearer - Brayhorn - Gor Blade and Beastshield OTHER Tuskgor Chariots (65)* Tuskgor Chariots (65)* Bullgors (260)** - Warheard Drummer - Warheard Banner Bearer - Bullgor Great Axe Bullgors (260)** - Warheard Banner Bearer - Warheard Drummer - Bullgor Great Axe Centigors (85)** - Brayhorn - Banner Bearer Centigors (85)** - Brayhorn - Banner Bearer Ungor Raiders (160)** - Brayhorn - Banner Bearer ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS 1 x Wildfire Taurus (70) TERRAIN 1 x Herdstone (0) CORE BATTALIONS *Battle Regiment **Battle Regiment TOTAL POINTS: 2000/2000 Created with Warhammer Age of Sigmar: The App
  8. All these hypothetical release schedules and not a single mention of beasts T_T (except Brodd) So in other words you're probably all right.
  9. Shamelessly plug my beastlord conversion? Well if you insist.
  10. Mazarak Bloodeye Beastlord of the Skullfray Bloodeye's Beastfiends.
  11. These legionnaire are the third iteration of "basic chaos human" when we could really REALLY benefit from something like a "generic beasts or chaos" warband. I mean we're onto god specific bands so certainly Skaven can get one now to update some horrendously old sculpts but beasts would have already been perfect for a "basically the same but slightly different" chaos undivided warband.
  12. This is the paradox of tolerance but that's wildly off topic.
  13. The day after the "guys why cant yall tell the space marines are bad!?" Post by GW they posted the teaser for Space Marine 2 which shows space marines as nearly angelic saviours and guardians of mankind against monstrous "others" all to a soaring orchestral score. I applaud GW for publicly not supporting those people but I spit on the idea they're too stupid to see how they might be "accidentally" encouraging them to buy their product.
  14. It's an old book is why it seems to be an odd rule but yes you can put them straight in. My only immediate thought is that if a character dies on a screen or something you can summon the spawn into a squishy backline unit like a hero or artillery.
  15. So that's where the unmade got all those faces for their belts.
  16. Remember that Tzaangor don't get to swing in 2 ranks if they arent battleline (unless I'm mistaken) so to protect them from bounty hunters you give up damage potential. That's why I prefer screens, but then I also am using bullgor when I know enlightened on disk are the better option so it's not like I can secure for pure efficiency lol.
  17. "Mazarak felt blood running from his ruined left eye as he surveyed the approaching stormfront. A good sign he thought. Mighty Kharneth blesses us with his gaze. The blizzard had appeared on the horizon without warning, in the wrong season, and approached at an unnatural pace. Or so his shaman Harrus had told him. Mazarak had never seen snow himself and the thought of learning things beyond the means for bloodshed made his lips pull back from yellowed fangs in a snarl that turned his hound like visage from frightening to absolutely terrifying. Still, his eye bled, a sure sign of violence to come. As his keen ears pricked to the sound of distant bellowing coming from the stormfront his snarl turned to a predators smile. He surveyed his small band who stamped their hooves and daubed their horns with fresh blood in anticipation. "Kharneth strong!" He shouted though they needed no goading. "Gor strong! Fresh blood comes. Flesh for gor. Blood for Bloodbeast, skulls for skull throne!" Mazarak hefted his axes high and the gorkin roared their hunger for battle at the approaching blizzard. Mazarak decided quickly that he did not like this "snow". It stung his flesh like biting flies but he could not kill it. Perhaps more importantly it had concealed his enemies until they were nearly on top of his bands herdstone. A monstrous ogor tyrant larger even than the beastlord himself had barreled from the blinding storm mounted atop an even more monstrous beast. Its stone hard horns and hooves had scattered his gors and Mazarak himself had nearly been impaled by the tyrants brutal frost coated spear forcing him to withdraw in a way that made his blood boil. As Mazarak looked on, clutching his wounded side, his bestigor hacked wildly at the monster. Though they carved long gashes in its flanks the beast continued its rampage sending his best troops flying with wild abandon. Worse still was the way the ogors followers, mounted on smaller beasts and hanging slightly back, were watching unconcerned. Laughing at his gors efforts to bring down the stonehorn, laughing at him! So great was his rage that he swore to Kharneth then and there that he would devour the tyrants heart and offer his skull to the great throne. He felt the eyes of something vast and terrible upon him, hearing his oath, judging him worthy to make it, but only just. The heat of an endless flame filled him with the promise of pain and worse should he fail and before his eyes the spilled blood gathered itself into the shape of a muscular demonic being holding a sword that seemed a part of its charred flesh which flung itself at the tyrant. Its form was powerful but Mazarak could see in its eyes that it was a mad feral thing and he understood his gods promise. Succeed and be exalted, fail and burn till nothing was left. A simple order but such was Khornes way, such was the law of the beastmen and Mazarak was a true devotee of chaos. The consequences meant nothing, he would not fail, but Kharneth instilled not just red hot fury but iron will. With a vicious bark Mazarak ordered his warriors to withdraw. Khorne cares not from where the blood flows but Mazarak had a skull to claim and for that he would need his strength. The mocking laughter of the ogors followed him and he vowed that they would feed the herdstone well, and soon. So pure was Mazaraks fury that deep in the realms of blood a daemon with the head of a great bull paused in his endless slaughter. Ripping his axe from his twitching foe he turned blazing eyes towards the material realms and snorted. Whatever mortal beast had dared draw Tauruk Gorefeast's attention would be worthy or he would be devoured." Game 1 saw me withdrawing at the top of 2 after my friends Stonehorn mounted tyrant killed half my gors and my beastlord on his turn 1 (which did spit out a chaos spawn per the gavespawn rules) and all 20 of my bestigors by the end of my turn, after they did a whopping 5 wounds back. He was completely new to 3rd edition but a stonehorn is a little strong at 600 points. We are moving to 1000 points from there so I'll be adding in a demon prince of khorne and some bullgor to hopefully give me some chance against his big monsters. I've encouraged him not to go easy and just build towards what he actually wants to bring at 2000 points.
  18. Yeah I use shades to well... shade so if anyone can point me towards the alternative company to buy shades that will continue to act like the current shades do that would be appreciated. I mean sure Nuln looks good for when you ONLY want black lining but all in all... meh. As others said I could dilute shades myself for cheaper.
  19. Mathematically I think dual axe is best in bounty hunters but of the two I'd say great axe. I'd say blackened armor all the way. 33% of doing some mortal wounds on the charge just cant beat negating half the mortals he takes himself. I'm really uncertain about battleline bulls. Yes swinging in an extra rank is everything they ever wanted but I'm not sure it's worth taking double damage when everyone is going to be bringing that batallion. With bestigors I feel it's worth it because they NEED to swing in 2 rows but a unit of 6 bulls is usually fighting with at least 4 until you lose one guy so it doesn't feel as necessary. That's all theorycrafting of course and who knows how the meta will shake out. I would invest heavily in screens this edition since it feels like it's going to be a big game of "who's bounty hunters hit who's bounty hunters" Edit: Here's what I'm thinking of running as a rough draft. - Army Faction: Beasts of Chaos - Subfaction: Gavespawn - Grand Strategy: Take What’s Theirs - Triumph: Bloodthirsty LEADERS Beastlord ** - General - Command Traits: Unravelling Aura - Artefacts of Power: Mutating Gnarlblade Dragon Ogor Shaggoth ** - Spells: Hailstorm Slaves to Darkness Daemon Prince ** - Mark of Chaos: Khorne - Hellforged Sword and Malefic Talons Great Bray-Shaman *** - Spells: Vicious Stranglethorns Great Bray-Shaman *** - Spells: Wild Rampage BATTLELINE 20 Bestigors * 10 Gors ** - Gor Blade and Beastshield 10 Gors ** - Gor Blade and Beastshield OTHER 6 Bullgors * - Bullgor Great Axe 6 Bullgors * - Bullgor Great Axe 5 Centigors *** 5 Centigors *** 10 Ungor Raiders *** 10 Ungor Raiders *** ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS 1 x Wildfire Taurus 1 x Doomblast Dirgehorn TERRAIN 1 x Herdstone CORE BATTALIONS *Bounty Hunters **Battle Regiment ***Battle Regiment TOTAL POINTS: 2000/2000 So tons of screening with raiders, centigor and gor to allow my punch to get where it's going. Same principle for the shaggoth and prince combining hailstorm and bloodslick ground can really neuter a key unit. Fun fact the beastlord with gnarlblade does more damage than a shaggoth or doombull with the blade and if I can get the bull in there it's safe for him to swing first to activate his buff. I like gavespawn because it has that awesome +1 attack command (even if we cant stack it anymore) which really bumps up damage potential. Obviously I need to summon spawn quick but summoning them upfield in range of the combat you want to buff isn't entirely unfeasible. Double shaman may be unnecessary but their spells arent bad and their automatic speed buff makes the centigor insanely mobile while also buffing the beastlord (who is no slouch with the artifact) and bestigor. The horn is really there to fill points but I discussed it above.
  20. I feel like living city was never the best shooting city anyways and skirmish isn't really something we can do with our fairly short ranges as opposed to other stronger shooting factions so the ability to strike and melt forward made us a viable melee skirmish army. Now that's gone and Tempest eye shoots better in our own book so unless you want Sylvaneth for fluff reasons (like me) there's not much reason to take living city. The wanderers (living city) suffering for the sins of the stormcast (fulminators) lines up perfectly with the lore at least lol
  21. That's quite a claim when the majority of NPE complaints are demonstrably leveled at a particular armies rules. Do you have anything to back up that claim besides personal anecdote because the statement "most online complaints of NPE are related to LRL" is something we can all see wheras "most NPE is caused by a bad (as an opponent not bad at the game) player who just so happens to 9 times out of 10 be playing a particular army" is... less demonstrable. Now I grant that we can easily see that there were claims of NPE before LRL and there will most likely be claims after so in that regard I consider the claim "bad players will cause bad experiences regardless of what rules are available" to be both true and demonstrable. What I do not agree with is the idea that that somehow ignores the fact that LRL's rules represent the majority of complaints and thus presumably is the rule set the majority of bad players are using currently to cause the bad experience. Further it is no defense of the NPE rules of LRL that the bad players will use other rules if LRL are fixed. Rambled a bit but in summary, bad players will use bad rules or bad attitudes/actions to cause bad feelings. We can't ask GW to police attitudes but we CAN and should expect them to police bad rules.
