Changer
Just a quick one - how do people measure the 3", 1" etc distances? I've seen the GW combat gauge but don't fancy spending £20 on something like that. Are there any third part retailers that have something similar on the market? amysrevenge
It's unimaginably easy to make your own. You can do a serviceable one out of cardboard with just some scissors, or you can spend 5 minutes of hobby time with a sheet of plastic. It's just a 3"x1" rectangle with one corner cut off, like this (don't just copy this one out, I cribbed it together in MSPaint in 2 seconds, not to scale):
Squirrelmaster
Personally I've just been using a tape measure…
Mossback
Litko.net makes a gauge specifically for AoS. It even has the turn reference printed on it. It has measurements from 1/2" up to 6". The cost is $7.99.
Criti
Muse on Minis carries measuring templates that are often pirchased by War Machine. One is a 5" and one is a 6". The 5" has a side it is exactly 3" and an edge that is 1/2". The 6" has an edge that is 1". I use those all the time http://museonstore.com/collections/frontpage/products/precision-measurment-set
RuneBrush
Most of the options I've seen have been US based sadly, you can pick the GW up for a bit less from some places but it's still quite pricey. There are a few companies doing laser cut MDF versions (although I'm personally not a fan) Home made is an option if you're happy with that too, as @amysrevenge says it's not a huge amount of work/effort
Wraith01
I see one of those little rulers they sell for kids to use in school. Before that just a regular tape measure.
Ratatatata
I've cut up the measuring sticks that came with Battle for Skull pass (and probably IoB as well).
