wayniac
Curious about something, I see a lot of people say that if you play at, for example, 1500 points you use the restrictions for a 2000 point game (e.g. 3 battleline, etc.). I've always played it the opposite, from 1000-1999 points uses the restrictions as per 1000 points (e.g. 2 Battleline) so it's easier to build an army without having too high of a "core tax". I know that Scrollbuilder seems to treat 1500 as though it was 2000, but I'm curious is there an actual official word on this or are people just picking the 2000 point option to require more Battleline options to help balance the field more at 1500? However as is always the case with Age of Sigmar you can play how you like. The most likely solution is to play as per 2000 point rules. But if you want to play as per 1000 points that's fine also. wayniac
Okay, sounds good. I wasn't sure if there was something officially stating it, or if it was just people's preference.

Not entirely correct. 2000 pt games are actually "up to 2000 points", so 1250/1500/1800/etc. are officially recognized.

Actually, I believe the GHB states that when selecting a 2000-point game (I can't remember the name for that size... Warhost?), each player may get up to 2000 points of models. Then they even disregard that in the example battle report. Ultimately, it's up to the players to decide because the GHB specifically gives leeway. wayniac
Yes a common argument I have is that points in AOS are very inflexible and as a result in most games, by which I mean not tournaments where people can be strict about it, it's okay to be something over because your options are be like for example 80 points under or 20 points over. The example battle report has 2040 points of storm cast against 1980 points of demonsSent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Well yes if you want to be pedantic, they're all still considered 2000 point games just that you and your opponent agreed to take less.
Gwill_of_the_Woods
In my gaming group, if we agree a 1250/1500 point game we use the 1000 point requirements. We also, usually say that you can go up to 50 points either way of the points target. But, we aren't too competitive with each other! ...Haha! who am I kidding?! Bimli
1000 points is vanguard 2000 point games battle host To me and logic 2000 points is when you need the 3 battle line So in theory 1001 to 1999 point games doesn't really have rules but would make sense to me that it should be an "up to" situation so from 0 to 1999 vanguard 2000 to 2999 battle host ect.
