Barak Zhar-Ramad: City of The Ashen Storm

Recommended Posts

In his many years of captaining The Earnest Coin, Engstrom Bokkrinson has never experienced such a storm. The clouds were made from an azure colored ash, that seemed to grip onto every exposed surface and erode certain metals, and the winds were howling so fiercely that he had to shout at the  top of his lungs in order to be heard from five feet away.

His onboard khemist could not identify the elements that made up this gods be damned storm, and it was starting to seem like a lost cause to try to map ou-.

Suddenly the frigate lurched to the starboard side as his systems began to go haywire, his ship was loosing Aether Gold at such a pace that there must have been a hole the size of an arkanaut in the cargo hold.

Rapidly he reached for the aether-shot rifle he kept nearby in the event he needed to repel boarders and began to look over the decks to find the beast that’s hurting his profit, but to no avail. The best he could do was catch glimpses of a being encased in what looked to be a twisted endrin-harness......

He didn’t see the blasted creature until it knocked him off the railings of his beloved ship, the last thing in his view before being enveloped by storm was the twisted rune painted onto its armour, marking the creature as a son of the Father of Darkness.....

Hello everyone, welcome my conversion plog for my chaos corrupted Kharadron Overlords! If you haven’t already guessed these guys have been converted to the worship of Hashut!

The lore behind these guys is that Tzeentch once tried to capture and convert a minor sky port called Barak Easifa, trapping them in an a tainted hurricane. Desperate to escape this hell the people of this port cried out to any and all gods that would listen to them, and it was Hashut that answered. Expending a great deal of power he bound the souls of the airborne city with the spirit of the storm, a debt that these twisted privateers must now pay in souls and aether gold.

It is my hope to not only show the depths that these poor souls will go in order to repay their savior, and the degradation of their ethics under the temptations of Tzeentch, starting with this guy: meet Feraq the Ravenous(I swear it is a coincidence that his name sounds like mine),  a master Daemon-Rigger and his two sky shark familiars(they get to be rather large later on...). Hope you enjoy this adventure with me.BECA210E-1F10-4B53-8A71-B2F2BDBED20A.jpeg.22ecf693b6f38bde3073535a6ab3ea82.jpeg

not a great deal of progress today, as I’ve run out of primer(getting some more on Saturday), but for now here’s my converted gunhauler’s face.429D0C9C-6F5C-4778-A3BB-52AB37F9DFFC.jpeg.8ad74b76ad3243f81ebd0477132bc97b.jpeg

This weekend I also plan to show off the first of the Ash-Kin, a sort of holy class held by mutated Kharadron, who tend to become officers and low level priests.

Oh, so you wish to know about the Ash-kin beardling? Well let me order another round and I’ll gladly tell you a tale of those damned souls.

it’s no secret our bodies do not mutate as quickly as the umgi, but when we do it is quite the spectacle to behold.

If you believe the grumblings of Barak Thryng, then the Ash-kin are a part of the remnants of Barak Easifa, and a grim reminder of what happens when one betrays the Ancestor Gods, but I’m not so sure of that. What I do know is that they’re an absolute terror.

From the moment they’re borne their bodies are becoming part of the storm that consumed their sky port, and it is only through the transfusion of souls and Aether Gold do these twisted beings manage to live past a century.

Another thing I can tell you that’s there’s always an easy way to pick out these damned cousins of ours, they’re always wearing these Grungi Damned huge hats.......

ladies and gentlemen I give you Haz-Dereth the Poisonous, aether khemist and priest of Hashut. Though he’s mostly made up of Thousand sons parts I assure you this beast is loyal only to Hashut and his greed. EF747359-148D-4EB4-B659-B96E5F665CF5.jpeg.1a149c04bd4694bb83bdeec891f49a3c.jpeg

up next for the fleet I’ll be converting a group of arkanauts as well as a navigator, and I’ll also post a shot of a soon to be fully painted Feraq!

after that I plan on adding two more gunhaulers, a frigate, a unit of five thunderers, and The Avatar of Greed: a Gotrek Conversion(need I say more?). Till then stick around!

How do I do that?

Not entirely sure, i would recommend just starting a new thread there and posting the same pictures. I think all mighty Ben is the only one who can move threads, so you will just have to start a new thread.

You want to know how I received my name, runt? It’s quite simple really, I am a ravenous soul.

My cravings are not for such simple things as wealth, ale, or even women, no my appetite is only for one thing......

I crave only the blood of our hypocritical cousins, who mock those who submit to a higher power when their society relies on the gift of a “God”!

Introducing a filly painted Feraq the Ravenous! Man he was a challenge(especially the eyes), but so much fun to paint. Don’t worry, he won’t be alone for much longer..........DCC7B3CA-1D34-4E64-B332-97A05A0F727B.jpeg.c4a417b0e7c72a0b0f360f0a9f49dc2f.jpegF9E54EEA-B120-4E6F-BBDC-0947B8252B37.jpeg.0f2473bf4e9ede6722d4efcd74e7110d.jpeg1FA9396A-5A2F-4421-9C87-C0F8C8808A28.jpeg.e7bcd2f331aaa551a29953bc11cdc50a.jpeg

  • 2 weeks later...

Give praise to Hashut, the Ash Smith, Father of our people.

Honour him with industry purified with wrath, and of wealth taken by force.

Give thanks to Tzatza the Changing Wind, our true mother. Gift her the magic that has been stolen from her by the heathens below.

Return their breath from the cowardly, the arrogant, and the heretic...

Oath of Barak Zhar-Ramad

Hey everyone, just letting you all know that there is an update on the way later tonight and running an idea past you: should I make this into a cities of Sigmar army as well? I was looking at adding some dispossessed and figured I might as well go Tempest Eye, your thoughts?

Maybe, I don't know if Hashut would be pleased though. I would say that do as you heart tells you, and if it says to make this army follow sigmar, so be it. But if you did that you could make even more dwarf armies. Tempest eye would be perfect if you ran this as CoS ruleswise.

Oh god no, this would be CoS in rules only, honesty I'll think about it but for now we're still a bunch of corrupted Kharadron over here.

you make an excellent point, we'll stick with Barak Thryng rules.

Willing to bet that if this works it will only be the stepping stone to cities 😂

But might be nice. KO thryng -> tempest eye with KO -> full duardin cities

Since I decided that we’ll stick with Barak Thryng’s rules as it allows for non kharadron dwarfs to be taken in the army I figured I should convert some: and so I did. Two of these guys were from a previous conversion binge and were added on. So far we have a runemaster, a runeson, and a battle smith. Names and back story to be added later.18E2B767-F757-4C99-A814-C6595F69D0A5.jpeg.2860c5de0e98d8829cd4b113a299a58e.jpeg762F4AD2-5626-4415-8B48-0641E37BB78A.jpeg.2c922de15cd44e9666f07a54d51b3cb4.jpegEA97037A-38B5-4D13-92BB-1BC1DC36A8BC.jpeg.92dc9065fd2b9f8ac3ffd15d54d1daf4.jpegCC5B86D4-A578-4699-996F-E90341B1C522.jpeg.bf97dc7e06973bc5ba3cd8b34c944195.jpeg202784A6-DF60-42B8-918C-C67EA48A1A84.jpeg.d3b293c6fa39ef4a279bbfd76f2521dd.jpegC0637ED1-6C33-4DEF-9609-2A438E5EABB0.jpeg.3f652d72c8070c78bfd1fbae2b7631e2.jpegEBB955A4-7717-467F-9442-2BE9177E3C37.jpeg.42ce0d5c5cec0072caa2d3cc4fcaec7a.jpeg
