  1. We seeing anything interesting in the new SC stuff to ally in?
  2. Hey guys, can I take some Brutes in a KB army? I know they won’t get the KB allegiance abilities but they’re some of the coolest models in the game. I’d imagine you can but I saw a quote that IJ armies can only take units with IJ keyword so wondered if it was same for KB and if you wanted to mix you had to take Big Waaagh? Or have I misinterpreted the quote?
  3. I’ve no interest in playing against an army with no paint on it. The sight of grey plastic really spoils the vibe for me. No problem with them actually playing with unpainted minis in stores etc, it just wouldn’t be against me 🤷‍♂️. If I miss out on more games because of that, it’s my problem not theirs.
  4. Where’s the best place for me to read about these 40k chaos rumours? Might well be my first foray into 40k
  5. Honestly I’ve struggled to follow your examples there but no ones telling anyone to go home, all their asking is you not insult them or make accusations about their character because they disagree or simply don’t feel as strongly as you do. How would your hobby club feel if you came down to vent and started calling people who disagree with you names? You think they’d say ‘it’s ok, he’s just mad at GW’ or would they say, ‘please don’t do that we want these people to keep coming to game nights!’. You’ve made the white knight comment intentionally, does that now make it ok for me to make accusations about your character and call you what I want? It would be GWs fault ultimately remember, because they’re the source, so please try to remember that as I’m personally attacking you. Obviously I’m not going to do any of that because I know it will reflect more on me rather than on GWs actions. I’m going to exercise my ability to remove myself from the discussion now because it’s obviously working me up now too! 🤣
  6. I know what you’re saying, honestly. Ironically I’m much better at managing my anger on the internet which is far and wide a more intolerant and frustrating place. If I get called something on here I can deal with it. If I got called something on the street I’d be far less likely to respond in the same way I do as on here. While the internet makes it very easy to say what you want to who you want it also gives you the really easy opportunity to remove yourself from the situation, a chance you might not get down the pub.
  7. Unfortunately I think the Boot is 40k because of the skull. I think some Inquisition models are going to be coming which probably what the W skeleton is too, though would be a pleasant surprise if it’s with hunters for AoS.
  8. I agree person B was rude first in that instance, unfortunately that’s not how it always happens on here. As to why B felt the need to get involved? Because person A posted their point of view on a discussion forum so B posted theirs. What you’re arguing could equally be said for person A, what were they expecting? What were they hoping to achieve? Maybe a neutral venue wasn’t the best place to vent their frustration? Again same goes for your other point when people show up and start protesting in people’s faces who didn’t ask for it, and themselves get punched in the face. the point is, no one should be getting punched in the face. The means of how the punch came about doesn’t matter.
  9. There’s surely got to be some sort of floating island being pulled by something/some things going by a lot of the lore / artwork so far. Maybe a new war alter on something like that? Edit: Looks like Ogregut had the same thinking!
  10. I think you’re misreading or misunderstanding me. The cause is obviously GW, But we’re also referring to it as the problem. I don’t deny GW are making some people angry, I’m pointing out that it’s not a problem for everybody, and that if someone chooses to debate that point on a public forum they’re called a white knight, which you’ve also just proven, which was helpful. But none of that relates to the point of excusing behaviour. It’s not GWs fault you’ve made the white knight comment, it’s yours, that was your action. You can’t pass the blame of your actions onto the source of your anger. My football team, Liverpool, look to not be investing much in the transfer window this season, which I’m a bit unhappy about. If I start lashing out at other fans, is my behaviour excused because Liverpool have made me angry? Especially when some people disagree with my opinion that Liverpool need to invest more? Or would in fact my actions taken in anger be my responsibility regardless of why I’m angry? Sure people can vent their anger on the forums, they should just do it without attacking other community members and keep it in relevant threads. Though seriously for anyone who has anger issues (as I have) I highly recommend taking a step away from the computer even if it’s for 10 minutes and getting some exercise instead. By all means come back to the keyboard afterwards, but looking to vent your frustration in an environment that’s likely to frustrate you more is just as unhealthy as locking that frustration in.
  11. Guild triumphs in BR: Belakor and the triumphs in the 3.0 core rules can be used for aether gold.
  12. Whatever it is I’d be disappointed if it’s mortal
  13. On Warhammer Weekly they said Tom won a tournament, does anyone have more info on his lists etc?
  14. I’ve been hoping it’s something Khorne related too but would you not expect the Khorne icon instead of the star if that was the case? Also, surely there has to be Cities / Dawnbringer warband this time around? One of the things I’m most excited about is seeing some kind of realm specific Cities models.
  15. The problem you refer to though is subjective. Whilst it’s obvious those actions do clearly make some people angry, they don’t make everyone feel that way, and unfortunately if someone tries to debate the topic of that anger they’re called white knights, stans or shills which is really reductive. The problem with the anger on this forum isn’t that people are angry in the first place, that’s natural, it’s that often it’s directed at other community members because they just don’t feel the same level of indignation. While you’re saying GW doesn’t take responsibility for their actions it also feels a bit like you’re excusing members from their own actions because of their anger. Oh and I’ve got angry on here before (as anyone does on the internet) but I tend to delete the comment I’m writing before I post it when it gets to the point of me wanting to call people names or make accusations about their character. More on topic of the app, seeing how little is coming on Wednesday has almost convinced me to cancel and subscribe again in a few months to watch the animations. I'll just do without that Assassin model I suppose (which I wouldn’t be able to do anything with anyway because I don’t actually collect 40k). I expected to be drip fed, but one animation episode a week (if it indeed carries on that way) isn’t enough for me. If they up it to 2-3 animations a week then I’ll resubscribe. In regards to paying for the app unlike Azyr, it just doesn’t bother me that much. I appreciate warscrolls etc were available for free before, which was cool. But I always saw that as a bonus rather than any kind of necessity for me. It’s not what I’d prefer but that’s what it is, it’s not enough to kill the enjoyment of my hobby. One day if everything becomes too inaccessible for me, or too expensive I’ll simply stop collecting.
  16. I do think potentially Angels of Death should have released with a couple of episodes and Hammer & Bolter less. The quality of H&B isn’t quite there for me. Angels of Death is a bit better (though I’m not keen on the style myself either really) but it’s cool to see these animated stories regardless. I can understand AoS fans holding off. I don’t actually collect 40k or anything but I do enjoy some of the novels and lore so I’m happy enough. Price for me personally isn’t an issue, I’ve got the money, I don’t mind signing up now for some of the perks and consuming content as it comes in. I was never expecting a trove of videos at the start. If it doesn’t get better I’ll just cancel it. Maybe sign up periodically when there’s more to binge. If you’re not bothered about the models jumping on every few months to binge a few animations is probably a good shout. Oh and not having a full screen button is pretty silly.
  17. Who's white knighting? I just want it kept in one of the other threads, is that unreasonable?
  18. I'm subscribing to the view the rumour engine yesterday was Khorne related. I've seen people say Genestealer Cults for some reason but i'm not having any of that. I want a Bloodletter Priest, i would settle for the Bloodthrone becoming a priest if no new models though.
  19. Can we keep the moaning about W+ to one of the other moaning about W+ threads? So much negativity about the hobby recently, i'm almost ready to pack up just to get away from the community. I wouldn't care if it was all in one place so i could just avoid opening that topic, but people are hell bent on spreading it everywhere. I want to read wild speculation about new Blades of Khorne releases, not endless posts about GW being bad. This place is a real bummer to visit recently.
  20. I noticed he posted a couple more videos. Would he not need to remove all of the Warhammer content from his channel based off his GW worries? Does the fact he’s said he’s not making anymore change anything? Can GW not still come after him because all the videos are still up? I guess what I’m asking is, what security does he believe he has in regards to GW coming after him now, that he didn’t last week? All the videos are still up, still generating revenue, is this not an issue now he’s said he’s not making more?
  21. Honestly pal, I don’t know if it’s the beers, or just that they’re so dissimilar in my head I don’t even know how to explain it, so I’ll have to come back to you after a sleep haha. Someone using painting their models and playing the game is what every customer is supposed to do. That’s what GW have sold you. They’ve not sold you the right to create artworks based on their IP and sell it. Especially when they’re paying artists themselves to make the same things. I’ve actually made a bunch of animations for my employer. Recently the biggest one I’ve ever done which was an explainer video for their production process. I KNOW how much time and effort they take (especially when you have limited self taught experience like me). So if I’m on GWs payroll making animations and artwork, and another guy is doing it outside of GW and getting paid for it too when it’s supposed to be ‘fan art’ i can see why GW might feel the need to take the stance they do. I’m not saying GW are doing it for their artists, they’re not, but it does protect their work too. No I wouldn’t defend them if they went after battle reports and painting tutorials, because painting miniatures and playing battles are literally what you’re paying to do. This is just the product being used for its purpose. And I also think a lot of this goes beyond stifling fan creativity. It’s not TTS creativity that’s being targeted or that he’s even worried about, it’s the lucrative business he’s created off the back of the IP. What he does has gone way beyond fan art. What I will say, is I appreciate you actually trying to understand the other side.
  22. I noticed that his last video was 6 months ago. Admittedly I don’t know if he deleted some videos in between 6 months ago and now. But that’s a big gap without content when it’s your living and you’re paying staff. Surely the super recent IP stance change can’t be to blame for that. Before that all anyone knew was that GW we’re offering jobs to animators. edit: just saw Enobys post and obviously other people are picking up on the same thing.
  23. Because I don’t see painting tutorials or battle reports as anywhere similar to animations I guess. I can’t remember if i quoted you directly but If I did, I wrongly started referring to the commenters (and youtubers etc) who are saying GW will be coming for everything, instead of just your question, sorry. TTS chose to build his house of cards on GWs table. The table wasn’t already there. He was aware of the risks when he started. GW have been evil and lawsuit happy a long time remember. Like I said, I signed the petition. I’d prefer for people to be able to make fan animations without monetising them, but I understand GWs position completely too. And it’s not conspiratorial. Their stance is absolutely about protecting W+, I agree with you, I’m obviously more at peace with it than you are I guess. I understand all your points by the way mate, I can just emphasise with the other side too.
