  1. Hellish wasteland of as and lava reminiscent of the Realm of Fire
  2. I reckon so. The overall size is 5'6" x 3'8" if I recall correctly from WD so you'd be looking at 2'9" x 3'8" which is still pretty decent for Skirmish
  3. This could be quite interesting. Looks like GW are creating a book on the exhibitions they've got: https://warhammerworld.games-workshop.com/2018/02/26/the-warhammer-world-dioramas-book/
  4. Quite liking the new ruins despite the points about them being not having a huge impact on LoS. I think assembling them into ruined buildings on a base rather than scatter terrain would solve some of those issues though
  5. Donation system is always a quick way to start getting a few extra pennies
  6. Interesting... I'm hoping to squeeze in a little bit of work on WSD tomorrow so will try and replicate that one!
  7. Morning! I did wonder if we were getting near a topic like this First off, the forum is great. The mods do a really good job at keeping topics on track and the overall atmosphere is really positive, which clearly has shown in how successful TGA has got! So, chucking my own thoughts into the ring. I'm massively against adverts on hobby sites, with the exception of those that are sponsorship based, for a few reasons. Firstly ads that are rotational are really hard to police, it only takes one rogue ad to destroy the reputation of a site. Secondly I frequent the forum on my work PC and the footprint adverts leave on your computer is something I'm keen to avoid. Lastly, I rarely if ever click on them so it's a means to an end rather than adding anything to the forum. I'm very up for a subscription system, as one of the more prolific members I'd happily put up to a fiver into a monthly sub (perhaps with an option of paying a year up front). I know that PayPal has a very robust subscription system in place so this could be a good one to consider. A bonus forum would be nice along with a few cosmetic things like you've mentioned. I believe InVision allows writing PHP plugins so it's plausible to mod the forum depending on what's decided. Patreon could work as a way of gaining memberships but as has been mentioned they're in the process of messing with their pricing - plus they take a commission. Kickstarter would be a good way of getting a one off support element, but again you loose a chunk and would likely need to re-do it in a year when funds get low. A regular raffle could be quite fun with some AoS prizes. Depending upon how successful it is, you could always split the money between TGA and a charity which generally makes people more generous - and encourages non-forum members to participate. From a technical aspect, have you considered Amazon SES for sending e-mails? I'm using it for the website I manage for work (roughly 125k mails per month) and it comes out around $15
  8. Sorry to disappoint, but you only get one roll if you've inflicted any damage not one for each wound inflicted I'm looking forward to the FAQ on Skarrbrand - which rule trumps the other
  9. I'm calling Ad Mech - bottom symbol looks like one of the Forge World symbols
  10. Keywords are one thing that I need to investigate a bit as I've noticed people do have a habit of simply typing everything into the box with commas rather than selecting each option one at a time. What that means is WSD treats this as a single keyword rather than multiples. Ideally it needs to treat a comma as keyword separator (same as a carriage return), but think there was a reason why I didn't do this initially. From the bit of alpha testing I did, not wrapping onto a new column was a bigger bug bear than separating titles which is why I didn't set the outer wrapper in that way. CSS columns are pretty new in the grand scheme of things but preferable to calculating it all on a canvas element I'll try and find some time to have a bit more investigation at some point. Lol, yeah it's not for everyone! I've been doing web dev stuff for a silly number of years now - probably one of the reasons I don't do very many home projects anymore
  11. Columns are a bit of a tricky one as they're reliant on the browser to work out how they should be. However it's plausible that with browser improvements over the past year I might be able to improve some bits. I'll have a look at why it's going wonky on the warboss shield paragraph - very odd! Probably should add in a delete function too
  12. Stop being so good Seriously though, some cracking pieces there
  13. For easy reference: I'm calling a gibbet scenery piece
  14. GW made the decision to release low to no model Codexes when they dropped 8th edition. The theory being that they want to be able to discontinue the Index books as quickly as possible and to give players those flavour style rules that means the army plays as it should. Basically they learnt a valuable lesson from the AoS release. Some Codexes overlap (as I imagine we'll get with Battletomes) because GW is very aware that people want all of their resources in one book, 40k Daemon players aren't going to purchase 4 books to get the rules for their daemon units with a mish-mash of stratagems. I can see us getting a similar treatment this year and low to no model Battletomes coming out to fill the gaps where people are still using the Grand Alliance books. GA: Death is effectively superseded on the 10th when Legions of Nagash comes out. It's not "ideal" by any stretch of the imagination, but it's actually a step in the right direction. GW have said for a while now too that they really want to go back to the days of releasing models outside of Codex/Battletome's, so we might get a box of Khornigors out of the blue, we can just pick them up and add them to our Khorne (or Brayherd) armies without having to wait for a new book.
  15. I have a feeling that the whole MP/LoN/DoK has been brought forward in scheduling for some reason. WD is written 3 months in advance so even bringing something 1 month ahead would mean it's missed out of WD. At least that's what I'm rationalising to myself!
  16. I've just been looking over the Harbingers again and looking at them, I think they fulfil a really nice role for small armies - so start collecting box, plus a few other models. For larger games (i.e. 2k) they don't really have enough punch - however if you look at the way MP is being driven in stores they tie in perfectly as a general once you've painted up your brand new army box.
  17. I've popped them into a post on my blog along with the changes that I've noticed (link in my sig)
  18. Funnily enough I was starting to think along the same lines, GW have often used snake like bodies in association with Slaanesh. I'm wondering if we're going to see a Slaaneshii/Aelve combined faction as this would allow GW to move away from the "more adult" design we've seen. Then again that could risk the ire of people who run mixed order armies with models such as Witch Aelves. Could we see a faction that could be run in two grand alliances? Who knows! It's great fun guessing Probably the best teaser trailer that's been released yet, though it's a bit of a shame this could overshadow Legions of Nagash. My biggest question is if this is going to tie into Malign Portents?
  19. Just said this over in the MP thread. I'm wondering if we're going to see a load of new Battletomes dropped this year based on existing ranges (with perhaps one or two models thrown in), in the same way GW has done for Codexes following the new release of 40k. It'd certainly bring armies all up towards the same level and would mean GW could have quite an aggressive release schedule
  20. I don't think any of the Heralds will feature in a Battletome, they'll be in the Malign Portents book and each box contains the warscroll for them.
  21. Wasn't there a dogs of war unit years ago that had mixed race skeletons?
  22. Yup, they set that up during last year though no indication on what they'll be focused on. Could well be we see them at the AoS Open Day in a few weeks time and can nudge them to find out Khornate Dragon must be due soon, though I know they've resculpted the rider three or four times as they weren't happy with him!
