  1. No problems. I think their customer services department are honestly less aware of what's going on than we are nowadays. No guarantee the complaints thing will be any better but hopefully it'll get closer to the decision maker 😊
  2. My personal view is that each battletome will be revisited for AoS3. Some armies will receive second wave releases to bolster the available choice. Some may find themselves merged into a single book, but each one will get a new book to bring them into line with everything else. What they lack in height they make up in girth (and beard)!
  3. I'm guessing you emailed their main customer service email? They do have a dedicated complaints email which is where you should be sending any specific grievances.
  4. Was meaning in the battleshock phase. For every 10 models in the unit you gain +1 to your bravery, so returned models will count towards that - but also count as slain.
  5. As it stands would those resurrected skeletons not still provide the + bonus for every 10 models (could be wrong, not got rules in front of me). I'm fairly sure we're going to end up with the battleshock phase rehashed in the new version in some format though in 3rd ed. Possibly something similar to 40k
  6. Would absolutely agree each company will handle this in a different way. I work for a company that sells (amongst other things) PPE, so we had quite a few people trying to buy up huge quantities of stock at the beginning of the pandemic to resell. Thankfully for us we have a mechanism that picks orders like that up (we had one person cancelling that type of order left right and centre for a couple of days). The point I was trying to get across is that we don't know what (if any) other systems GW has in place. Speaking to various staff over the years, they share the same opinion of scalpers that we do. Interestingly glancing through eBay, I think one impact that the limited to one restriction has had is that more individuals seem to be picking up one copy and selling it on if they're not going to use it.
  7. You're making a couple of pretty cynical assumptions here. If they didn't care about scalpers they wouldn't have modified their website to limit customers to 1 purchase per account. We don't know if there's any form of de-duplicate order mechanism in place for those limited products either. Yes scalpers still exist and are (in my view) the scourge of the earth, however the number of limited ed products being listed on ebay has dramatically reduced since GW implemented a 1 per account limit on some products. The biggest issue has been that people were assured by Games Workshop that Cursed City was going to be a stock item, but after it launched it turned into a limited edition run that sold out pretty quickly which resulted in some people missing the opportunity to pick up a copy. Unlike Indomitus last year a second "made to order" wave wasn't offered. This has been exacerbated because GW have gone completely radio silent on it - we've not had a painting video or play through for the game since it was released and it's vanished off the website, which has got people questioning if we're going to see any expansions or future support (the game rules do mention expansions). As you say, it's given the anti-GW brigade a huge amount of ammunition which will have made the situation worse. The whole thing boils down to a communication break down. The root cause most likely is covid/brexit/production (probably all of them), currently the issue is that nothing has been communicated out to correct what was at best a mistake and at worse misinformation. For a company that has heavily invested (and succeeded) in improving their image and connection to their customer base, this incident has knocked a lot of people's confidence in the company.
  8. Looks maw like... I'm calling Ogor Centaurs - brand new tribe that worship Kragnos. Less sumo wrestler vibe and more tribalistic with their own flavour of Gnoblars who go round and build little effigies.
  9. Warscroll builder is maintained by a third party (the fantastic Tony P). It'll never be updated prior to the actual release date (22nd) and tends to be a few days after. This one may be a bit longer as it's multiple new allegiances plus the removal of LoN I shall point you to some of the rules of the forum! The TL:DR version is you may only post officially released photos or ones taken from public events http://tga.community/forums/topic/17954-important-tgacommunity-and-you/
  10. +++ MOD HAT +++ Just a general reminder folks, please always ensure you credit the author and provide appropriate links when including artwork. If a piece is copyrighted or has watermarks all over it, please just post a link rather than the image!
  11. I think it's a general production issue rather than a specifically overseas production issue. AoS wise we should be fine overall, I would imagine they've stockpiled a fairly hefty amount of AoS3. +++ MOD HAT +++ Well it's a topic that doesn't belong in the rumour thread... Just remember this is an AoS forum 😉
  12. That makes more sense, I don't think I've ever applied creativity to rules like that which is why I didn't quite grasp what you were saying. I think most games tend to have a bit of a disconnect between the rules and the background and agree that the vampire is pretty lack lustre, especially having lost the option to be given a nightmare (though I prefer fly being automatically built in). In my eyes the vampire lord just represent one of the many vampires that make up a court - they're nothing special but wield more power than a thrall. Now, what I'd love to have seen was a slightly higher tier vampire, perhaps one which gets boosted depending upon their blood line (in the same way as Daemon Princes do). It's still a far cry from having the book in your own hands and actually being able to digest it. I've lost count of the number of times a reviewer has got stuff wrong - even WarCom get stuff wrong! It's not like it's a long time to wait until we physically get the book either. Happy to agree to disagree on this one. It's going to be interesting to see when the FAQ comes out. Countdown on AoS 3 is the 29th and I can't see an FAQ coming out on the 5th June when the new game could invalidate some of those answers! Who knows 🤷‍♂️
  13. In the back of my mind they eluded to this book being AoS3 ready on one of the streams - that may be me misremembering though 🤣 The rest is down to us seeing things that haven't ever happened in other armies - points in multiples of 5 and no horde discounts haven't ever occurred in an AoS2 army
  14. I think the way GW are going to handle this is that when AoS 3 drops it'll have a new pitched battle book that simply won't include Legions of Nagash in it. Gravelords is the replacement by proxy.
  15. I don't understand what you mean by creativity? To me the creativity I take from something is if I'm inspired to start a new project with funky conversions and paint it to competition standard (could be an army or just a one-off model). I can't gauge if this new battletome inspires me because all I've seen is a load of warscroll leaks. I've not read any of the background in the book and hardly seen any artwork. AoS3 won't fix all the problems in the game / this book - it might fix no problems, or it may fix many. The reason so many people are being cautious is because we've been here before and seen small changes have huge impacts on the way armies actually play on the tabletop.
  16. I believe we're going to get a 40k detachment style implantation. So you pick "Detachment A" which requires 1 hero, 2 battleline, 1 other and you can have +3 heroes, +4 battleline, +2 behemoth, +4 other and gain X command points per turn. "Detachment B" may only include behemoths. Looking at the new Gravelord book, there are a lot of heroes that make units battleline. We may find that as each battletome gets revised we get a wider range of "battleline if" options - in addition second waving a number of factions (looking at you Fyreslayers) Most battletomes had the old school path to glory rules in, so I'm not 100% convinced this is the crusade/path to glory ones. Would be cool if it were though!
  17. We may find that it's an ideal size for the new Path to Glory. GW's policy is that if something is going to be available for 6 months it gets taken off the website. We see this happen fairly frequently with Forge World models. I think if it were a massive legal issue then we'd also see the cursed city website be taken down too.
  18. Yes, around a week too early. I actually think the opposite. Why would a company take notice when somebody is giving feedback based on leaked photos? We're providing feedback based on other people's opinion and having played zero games - it's feedback by hearsay. Feedback to any company has a lot more kudos when you can go "I purchased product X and here is my feedback" versus "I've seen some leaks and listened to YouTube". I'd also say that we don't know what impact AoS3 is going to make. Legions of Nagash got slated when it came out because of the old summoning rules requiring points to be put aside. AoS2 comes along, makes summoning free and resolves that problem. That's not to say we shouldn't be providing feedback - we 100% should. What's important is to be able to back up your feedback with real world examples rather than theory crafting.
  19. Think GW are taking a little more hands on approach with games under some circumstances. The first Necromunda computer game had a huge amount of involvement from an aesthetic angle - I'm sure I read that all of "scenery" was scrapped and redone because of the unreleased ZM scenery. Mark Bedford has pages worth of concept art for Kislev and we know it's a playable faction in The Old World, so would imagine GW wanted to make sure there was enough cross over between the computer game and what we may see on the tabletop.
  20. It's my intention to lock all of the threads that are no longer valid. Will keep them linked in the "index" document for prosperity 😊
  21. When AoS3 drops we're going to get a new set of pitched battle profiles. It's also likely we'll get a round of FAQs & errata because not everything will slot into the new ruleset as cleanly as we're likely to, so it's probably a bit early to worry about how some armies may be even more powerful in magic as anything could happen 😉
  22. I'll sort out the new threads when the book drops in just over a week. Have just popped up a poll so people can vote on how they'd prefer them to be structured I'd not be too hasty on making a judgement on the book yet - it's not even up for preorder and we know it's been written with AoS 3 changes in mind. That's pretty standard now. It's GW basically nudging you to playing something that makes more thematic sense Firstly don't forget that we've only got a translation from a spanish warscroll! I'd also be cautious at using the old skeletons as grave guard as they don't have a massive amount of armour on the miniature - not saying don't do it, just make sure your opponent knows what they're facing to avoid confusion and any awkward moments 😉
  23. Hi all, So we've the new Soulblight battletome arriving on peoples doorsteps on the 22nd, which means we're going to need a bit of a tidy up on the threads because we're losing some options (Grand Host and Legion of Sacrement) but gaining others. The question is how you all think we should structure things. My own leaning is one thread for each blood line similar to how we currently have it because each blood line seems to be pretty different from the others (moreso than other battletomes).
  24. They're just pushing the existing AoS lore in game. There's quite a few examples of vampires who aren't casters in books and stories. They all do have some necromantic ability as shown in the Deathly Invocation rule - just can't throw fireballs out their fingers
  25. I'd not say that Warmaster was a flop, there's a pretty big community that still plays Warmaster and that's growing as there's a company producing miniatures for it again. BoFA I think was only really intended as a one off. I reckon there would be a space in GW's catalogue of games to fit in a 10~12mm scale fantasy game. Although you would get people 3d printing their own models, you know that GW will simply produce better and more detailed models in plastic. Interesting fact. When the rules for Titanicus were created, they did work out basic rules for smaller units.
