  1. I love net listing because I have no guilt or stress that I took the wrong list... Time to paint 2x60 + 2x20 grots! (I’ll never paint 3 cave shams thou and would hate to just proxy with the gobbapoloza)
  2. 100% depends on the tournament / to. I have played in events where 1) everything needs to be correct or they are removed as dead models to 2) events that players have been allowed to use non GW models that look nothing like what they are suppose to be. Bases always have to be correct however or I would refuse to play.
  3. Here’s the list for those interested: https://thehonestwargamer.com/aos-list-rundowns/ritchie-mcalley-bobo-2019/
  4. Your list is illegal in matched play. Matched play has nothing to do with competitive play, it is a system to construct a standard list that 2 players can play a game with. If you mean to say your playing open play then it is hard to give any feedback since open play lists needs to be worked out between 2 players and generally both players are trying to just have a little fun with no thought to list building or wanting to win.
  5. 2k list generally means matched. Matched does not mean competitive. I think you need to read the rule book. Start on pg 308 and read to 311 for what matched play is. Then read starting on 266 to find out what open play is. Point values of armies are a concept of matched play which comes with unit and ally restrictions. In open play you can do what you want. Are you planning to play open play with matched points values but no restrictions? (That is fine and discussed on pg 267). You need to be clear what you are playing with your buddies and what your goals are when playing with them. ie fun, winning, painting, talking, etc Open Play pg 267 Matched Play pg 309
  6. Exactly. Ppl can fight about if specific scenery is pointed correctly but this is the idea. Every units points in the tome assumes you are including the scenery and using it’s rules (in the same way temples, abilities, etc are factored into a units points). No army specific scenery is “free”. It’s included in the point cost of the rest of the army. (Albeit not always pointed correctly)
  7. @flamingwalnut is correct is saying that in matched play that is going to be an illegal list unless you add in 3 units of generic destruction "battleline". mornfang and gruntas are "battleline if" and your missing the "if" in the list you are thinking about. There are 3 ways to play aos, matched/open/narrative. If you are playing open/narrative there are currently no rules on constructing an army so go for it. Additionally, Braggoth will look great and be a good base for when IJ or BCR get updated. If your playing matched your going to need to add in those generic destruction units which I think is a huge waste of money and time for a new player to invest in. Imo you would be better sticking to a full IJ or full BCR army with 400 points of allies. You can still build the Braggoth but the MK will have to be dropped since he is 420 and thus not an ally. Assuming you are playing matched you can use https://www.warhammer-community.com/warscroll-builder/ to play around and see if your list is legal. The smallest legal Braggoth army would look like this. 1410 points and you have 400 points in allies left if you are playing a battlehost army at 2k (or 300 if you are playing 1.5k) Leaders: 1/6 Battlelines: 3/3 Behemoths: 1/4 Artillery: 0/4 Artefacts: 0/2 Allied Units: 0/6 Allies: 0/400 Allegiance: Beastclaw RaidersLeadersFrostlord on Stonehorn (420)Battleline2 x Mournfang Pack (160)- Gargant Hackers2 x Mournfang Pack (160)- Gargant Hackers2 x Mournfang Pack (160)- Gargant HackersUnits3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)- Pig-iron Choppas3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)- Pig-iron ChoppasBattalionsBraggoth's Beast Hammer (230)Total: 1410 / 2000Extra Command Points: 12Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 79
  8. This is an early version of a GS list he was taking. This one is from the London masters (3 games where he was 2-1 and lost to ben savvas krukk). I liked the second iteration with the troll hag better which he took to a GT soon after... but I can’t find it and it only went (3-2 or something so I didn’t save it. I think he dropped the bounderz, snufflers, and mangler and added 5 more fanatics (bumped them to 10) and the hag (1950). The core of all his lists are 20,40,60 grots, skargott, those 3 endless spells, and hand of gork. He hands the 60 in lines to screen the board and stacks -1 to hit where ever he can. Then tries to stay alive while scoring objectives.
  9. He played basically the same gitz list twice early this year. Think he went 2-1 and 3-2 at some semi competitive tournaments. You can dig up his London masters list on Honest Wargammer. 20, 40, 60 grots... skargott... mushrooms... a monster (300 mangler or 380 hag)... some support pieces. I think he’s some what down on gitz after skaven and FEC.
  10. Definitely true. This is why people should try to analyze the stats rather than take them as hard truths (and if ppl don't want to analyze them just listen to Honest Wargammer's stat show and trust they are more informed). If ppl think there is a player effect then take a look at the number of occurrences an army places in the top 3 rather than raw win ratio. Make sure to balance the number of occurrences in the top 3 with the % of meta statistic... etc etc. Also there is such a wide variety in army builds within faction. 1 of everything Gloomspite will not play like 180 grot Gloomspite. So ppl should also dig up a little more information before they just claim x army is good/bad. Justsaying podcast also does a segment on the state of the meta and breaks builds into tiers. But even that is limited since they only do it say every 6 months. If someone has the time they should do something like this https://mtgadecks.net/ . Tier the armies then provide a "net list" version of the army. So where it says Mono R you would write girslegore and write in the 4 beast + 2 arch build. Magic has it easier since meta constantly and only changes with each release every 3 months. For AOS you have to updated it every tome or gh release and add in lag time to actually figure out what is in what tier. In MTG that lag is about 2-3 weeks.
  11. Just guessing but I see it as a better attempt at Firestorm like armies. Biggest issue with Firestorm imo is that the rules you need for matched play are only sold in a campaign box which many match play players will never buy. Seems Legion of Grief is sold with a box like MS which has endless spells, artifacts, realm spells, etc (I suspect all players will buy this). Even thou they are basically the same product I see Firestorm more as a side AOS thing that many people were never exposed to and thus exclude from there "standard acceptable aos"... where MS and Forbidden power are real expansions to the game that are widely played.
  12. I'm not sure what the size of a warcry game will be but I would be very happy if I could just plug in a Shadespire/Nightvault warband and play a full game of warcry.
  13. Months ago on first read I thought the shootas benefited from both the Backstabbing Mob and Moonclan Bows rules for a +1 to hit and +2 to wound in large units. I only skimmed the paragraph of Backstabbing Mob and probably was selectively reading as who would ever give a ranged units a combat only buff. I'd guess there are a lot of other people who thought the same as I did and didn't read it a second time / play someone who reads the rules and corrects them.
  14. I would not like Tomb Kings and Bretonnians to come back. I'd rather GW focus on the all the armies listed on https://ageofsigmar.com/factions/ getting an AOS2 update.
  15. Fellow Loonbosses, did everyone see a GS list won 5 of 5 games. Only 20 players but still very good to see.
  16. My understanding are all warscrolls are matched play legal as long only as you are using the most current warscroll of that name and it has a pitched battle profile (most commonly found in the GH but are available in other locations as well) As of now chaos lord on foot will remain legal forever at its current points. This is why you can still use compendium and such since their warscroll names have not been reprinted and a pitched battle profile can be found in that PDF. It would be nice if the next GH clears up wording and makes only units in the current GH and future releases matched play legal.
  17. If I ever find 20 fanatics for cheap I’d love to cast cogs and hand and watch the world burn... I bet the fanatics will kill a screen and then I’d get tabled but imagine if you get a double turn or they have no magic/shooting
  18. Since you are going for the buffed up 60 I’d go all out.
  19. This is probably right. It’s unacceptable imo.
  20. I think the GW paint videos are one of the best things possible for getting an army painted. Here are a bunch on greenskinz to see how they are done. Pick the color you like and then use your airbrush. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wM7d3BK9PgQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhuDEOOelrs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFpqxHFMZXs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6n3lQ-uQ8-M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcAQPZkM9NY&t=1062s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNP7p5smZyQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks4M4Kf-SoE&t=929s
  21. That is a really common question and I think the answer is no. There may have been a time a few years back where the answer was yes or it wasn't covered (I am actually almost certain this use to fall in a grey area). I cited 2 rules from the BS book and 1 from the FAQ of the core rules that I think covers it all. This also means the unit doesn't have fly in the charge phase which can be really nice for hopping units. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I would love our army to be more powerful. From pg 86 of the BS book: That unit doubles how far it can move and can Fly in your next movement phase. From pg 97 of the BS book: The unit you pick can move as if it were the movement phase if it is more than 3"from the enemy (and is allowed to run), shoot as if it were the shooting phase, or pile in and attack as if it were the combat phase if it is within 3"of an enemy. From pg 7 of Warhammer Age of Sigmar – Core Rules, Designers’ Commentary (I have an old FAQ on my computer, it is still on pg 7 but no longer magenta)
  22. I have been thinking a Webspinner Shaman on Arachnarok Spider for 300 points sitting in the middle of the board casting Sneaky Distraction might be really good. He also gets a second spell (lots of good realm spells out there) and gets the self buff of +1 to cast and +1 to his 2 unbinds with the Catchweb Spidershrine ability.
  23. Quite sure there are no FAQs on the Big Boss using the CA multiple times. He is one of the few older units that have out dated rules that let us spend 4 CA from one model to get every hit of a 4+ procing 4 extra attacks. The Big Boss CA stack and the fact our rules our "Within" not "Wholey Within" are what most players exploit when using BS. A unit of 30 arrowz in a Krukk for the extra movement lets us alpha strike something like 270 attacks hit on 4s and 4s from a threat range of about 40inch. If I see a target I want to alpha my standard turn 1 would be to take top of t1; Hero phase: cast Hand, +1 to hit, and cogs from my 3 casters each out of 30in on the unit I want to alpha with, spend 3 CP on the boss CA, roll 3 dice to regen those with the brooch then immediately spend them again. Leave 1 CP for IP. Move 30 arrowz up 7 inches with Krukk and cogs. Movement: 30 arrowz up 12 inches with cogs and hand leaving a tail back to the boss Shooting: Fire 90 arrowz at 18in range with +1 to hit procing an attack*CA spend on 4s Even thou that means you have 30 2 wound models up the board and can be scoring objective points be careful when alpha striking. You leave yourself open to being double turned and the boyz do die in droves to most high damage output armies. Hopefully the alpha strike kill the target you wanted it to, such as Nagash, a ton of witchs, etc.
  24. 100% if you can be bothered. Having 90 magnetized would set you for your bonesplittz life and let you play with 30 of each (boyz, arrows, moar) to see what you like. If my math is right you can build 12 stabbas bases (24 models) and still have enough to make 90 magnetic
  25. I'd build a Kopp rukk with the models you have! I think Bonesplitterz will have a shake up soon in terms of points or a new battletome (But that might be a year off). Kopp rukk is fun and decent. It will let you play in the magic, movement and the combat phase. Are the 6 x Savage Orruks boxes the new ones with 20 orruks each or old ones with 10. Either way build all the big stabbas you can, they are super fun. Wurrgog Prophet (140) 3 x Wardokk (300) 60 or 90 Savage Orruks Moarboyz (600 or 900) If you want to go with 30x2 Savage Orruks Moarboyz throw in 1 unit boars to fill the 3rd battleline As many Big stabbas as you have ( for every 8 orruks you can make 1 big stabba base and 2 bases = 1 unit at 100 points each) Kopp Rukk (200) When gluing on the hands of all bonesplitterz models use just a dot of glue. They may break in game which can be frustrating but it allows you to rip them off and swap out the different options easily. I recently turned 30 arrows into spear and shields and was happy the glue was light.
