Warscroll builder is a community app manager by Tony P. with no official relationship to GW. Warscroll builder makes mistakes all the time and if you tweet Tony he fixes them. Ardboyz are only battleline in 10s currently on warscroll builder because Tony didn’t update it from GH2020. Lots of other examples. Thanks for the input though as I myself am confused what the idols points should be.

He’s 400 points as printed in the monstrous arcanum. https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/PDF/fw_warscrolls/aos-monstrous-arcanum.pdf GH2020 had him at 420. GH2021 doesn’t list him but says the monstrous arcanum is a legal publication. I think that means he’s 400 now. Thoughts welcome!

Hope to make 3 60+ player two dayers between now and Feb. I plan to play Clans with the 3.0 book. Fresh reset. Been using Kragnos in a Ironsunz or Bloodtoof while learning AOS3---Fun and a good painting project.

I used Kraggy in a casual game. He was fine and a lot of fun. Used a Bloodtoof IJ army. Auto teleported a line of 15 ardboyz with their 5in charge (reroll with a CP) to clear out screens Turn 1. Kraggy was able to go charge Turn 2 and did a ton of damage throughout the rest of the game.

Does a ranged unit have any place in a list like this? or is it a waste of the +1 +1 melee. Would you write out roughly the list you are thinking of with this comment?

2 bases (4 models... 2 pairs of 2) From memory a new box of 20 is made up of 2x old boxes of 10s. I think there are 10 unique bodies in a box of 10. 1 big stabbas base is made up of 4 specific bodies and 4 specific arms that only fit with these bodies (and the giant spear bits). You can force the arms into other bodies but 1 box of 10 only correctly makes 8 boyz and 1 big stabbas base.

This imo. Pigs and Boys are better for the model per point.

It’s a great start. My 2 cents. You will really be looking to Hand of Gork 1 60 up the board to score some of your opp. objectives. The general game plan in to score your own and middle objectives while your opponent is dealing with the first 60 (spend cp to immune to battleshock). When they finally hit your other 60 have that one fully buffed and clean them up (with endless spells as well once they are in range). With that in mind you only need 1 set of buffs. So I’d drop 10 snuffles (they come in 6s FYI, see FAQ). Reduce the other unit of 12 to 6. Does the same thing. Replace one unit of fanatics with the spore version for the extra buff. Quick math says you have 230 to play with now. Add 10 Boingrot Bounderz for a fun independent shock unit and 30 points in an endless spell. Otherwise should be good fun.

The optimal meta list can change at anytime. Repointing every 6months, FAQ, new battletomes that shape the meta, etc. 2 general rules I find helpful are: 1) Buy models you like. 2) Have the goal of collecting 1 of each kit in the range and put it on your shelf painted. But as others said... start by buying 2 start collecting boxes for IJ. 6 pigs with the warchanter buff and some ardboyz to fill out an ironfist will be solid stuff for a long time. Pick up a Megaboss on foot next probably (or Mawcrusher... but understand he might die in a lot of games and if that makes you mad/sad since he costs $$$/points maybe wait a bit or leave out completely).

I've struggled so much trying to write a 1000pts BS list. At 1250 I'm happy but at 1k I've been lost. I have a large Destro collection and I think my Mawtribes 1k is just so much better. I guess the biggest question at 1k is what format are you playing and what battleplans. Meeting Engagement? or normal and rolling for 1 of the 18 battleplans (can't remember the name... its probably pitched battle). 30 boyz and boar units are probably the best units in BS at 1k.

Has anyone messed around with a BW list that builds around this battleline set up? Was it any good? I only own 6 pigs and haven't been tempted to buy 6 more. However, I have a feeling this could be quite good. 100% Most people know this on the forum but I wish the GW community team and GW store owners would be more open about this fact rather than pushing sales and generating hype for new products.

My belief is that this is because the DP of nurgle is an older model. If something is going to be good I think GW opts for models which they can produce and sell in volume. They most likely did not intend the original ability to be meta defining. Once they found out it would have an large impact they needed to decide what to do with it. Nerfing an old model to the ground was the easiest solution.

I would instruct any friend to only buy models that you can still get off the shelf at a GW store and that has a warscroll in a modern AOS2.0 black label book. It is hard to explain all of this over the forum. Start small. Buy and paint models you like. Start with those free rules you posted. But be aware that there is a much larger ecosystem to AOS that many old model/warscroll are not a part of and will most likely never become a part of.

There are 3 ways of play. Matched, open, narative. Only Matched is explicit in its use of points. I can find the citation in the core book if challenged. You can balance by wounds, experience, etc... for open and narative. Without additional structure imposed through something like matched play pitched battles found in the full rule book GW instructed you to build armies as follows in the free rules:

Because GW has no interest in balancing these older units. Across the board you will find that legends/compendium warscrolls will not preform like battletome warscrolls with battletome synergies. If you like these units then by all means go for it. But know that you are buying and using units that are not in the long term (or even short term) GW plan.

This is certainly my preference for the battleline setup as well. I opt for a swap of the Skikkas to 30 Arrowboyz who chill behind 8 stabbas in a line flanked by the 20x2 Arrowz. The 8 stabbas are a lot of points. Can go poof pretty easy. I always take 1 extra CP to mitigate a battleshock. I like your list.

1 week before release (pre order date) previewers are allowed to publicly share information from the tomes they received early. With the modern internet it gets spread like wildfire. In order to re live the glory days of 2 FLoSh with battle brew this is the list I'm painting up. I already own the models so I don't really have to worry about how good it is.
