  1. Got the book. Everything was already known about LoG. Zero surprises there. Yet to finish the story though so might be some there.
  2. Forbidden Power drops - gonna pick up my preorder and do nothing for the rest of the day but get covered in glue and list build. It's gonna be a great day all round.
  3. Pardon me but... would just like to do a little squeal of anticipation. I am super duper pumped for what tomorrow brings!
  4. The white on that tau model on the community website is lush. I can finally have white models!
  5. Those teleportation shenanigans with gravesites... that never occured to me but it will be freak'n awesome!
  6. Played against Daughters for the first time over the weekend. Ran a LoS skelly heavy list with a vamp lord/zombie dragon as general. My god they hit hard! With the help of summoning I ended up having to bring a total of 170 skellies to the table. I won by playing the objective game but don't think I've been hit that hard since 2.0 dropped. Easily one of the hardest hitting armies I've seen in a long time.
  7. Aye, as a Death player, when I'm targeting bravery I'm not even considering battleshock. I'm more so looking at, to give an example, Soul Stealer which causes D6 mortal wounds if I roll higher than double the targets bravery with 2D6. Horrorghast immediately jumped out at me from that preview - it looks awesome.
  8. New Horrorghast ES would work great with this bravery talk you're all having. Edit: Oops! See I'm a little late to the party!
  9. @pseudonyme - loved reading that. Thanks for sharing! The best thing since Agrax Earthshade!
  10. Awesome - thanks for the quick response. Just thinking, as I can envisage using a combination of contrast and standard paints for different parts of a model.
  11. Apologies if being dumb but, the new paints require a specific primer aye? Do we know if the normal citadel paints can go direct onto this primer as well? Cheers in advance.
  12. You know what, think I've decided... I'm officially sold on these new paints. Really looking forward to testing them out. First on the block, those Underworlds warbands which I would never have got round to painting.
  13. I have literally just put the finishing touches on 100 skellies. It took me a good couple of months, all in. The end result is pretty similar to the bone effect in RuneBrush's picture of a pox walker. I would've definitely waited for the contrast paints if I'd've known when I started - ha ha!
  14. And what a good read it was as well. Enjoyed that.
  15. Best pics I've seen. Thanks for this. Painting really isn't my thing (a necesary evil between my love of building and playing) and I'd happily use these. To be honest, I'd happily just leave certain things like that as well. The boots on that pox, for example, are good enough for me!
  16. @Tropical Ghost General - that's actually so much better! Really good work. I'd never have the b**ls to hack into a model of that cost...
  17. They really didn't think through those horses on the black coach, did they?
  18. Quick question, do the Lanterns on Guardian's count as artefacts? Battlescribe has them listed as such and won't allow me to choose an artefact from the Relics of the Underworld. This doesn't sound right...
  19. Cast Mystic Shield on him as well for a permanent 3+ save and rerolling 1s. He's an absolute beast to say the least.
  20. Gotta agree. Although the new spells look good, I've got too many now that just sit around doing very little. Don't think my storage could manage another load of Endless Spells. Think I'll be cruising ebay for just the book if they don't release a separate hard copy (not a fan of ecopies).
  21. Have I slipped onto the dakkadakka tab again?
  22. Tbh, I'm starting to lean on the side of caution. I know a fair few armies and if i don't... bubble wrap. Really like how the army works though. I've been running Nagash lists for about a year now and really wanted to move away from that style. Having a ridiculous amount of skellies on the board is hilarious good fun. They are brutally savage little stabby things.
  23. Had a couple of awesome games. Got utterly steamrollered the first but won the second. Same opponent both times. My list: VLZD - Ethereal Amulet, Mastery of Death, Pinions Necromancer - Soul Harvest WK, mounted - Azyrbane Standard WK 2x40 skellies, spears 1x10 skellies, swords 10 BK 5 GG Balewind Vortex Deathmarch I wasn't expecting such an alpha strike from trees the first game! Started with both big blobs of skellies in the ground and... bam! First turn steamroller from some very big hitters! Made me chuckle. The next game, expecting the alpha strike, I bubble wrapped everything in a circle of 80 skellies. Those skellies munched through everything that came their way. Once I'd broken out of deployment, I moved forward to claim objectives and the game. Was thinking about a few things after: the nature of the list is very reliant on 'I go you go'. Even if I outdrop, I'd give first turn away to control the double drop and to ensure maximum regeneration for my boney boys. With that in mind, it needs to know if I'm gonna be hit by an alpha strike. If so, then the big blobs need to wrap but if not, they can start in the grave, allowing my necro and WK to move forward and pop them up in an advanced position. I now know trees can alpha with a particular battalion but what big alpha strikes are out there? I know new shiney stormcast and our bed-sheet enclosed cousins can. Suppose my knowledge of the wider game and armies just isn't that grand. Another thing, Mastery of Death and its free movement... would I be able to use this when locked in combat? This would give me the chance to pull out with the VLZD, for example, fly off elsewhere, then charge again. Same principle with the BK, who are utterly savage on the charge. These bad lads popped Alarielle for me on Friday!
