  1. Yeah but if he’s a Man-Eater then it doesn’t matter because he won’t have either Keyword anyway to place him down with the BCR. He’d be up there purely out of hero order just like Blackpowder is in the middle with the other UnderWorlds units.(and possibly could be a priest since he’s under the Wizards?) I find it far more likely that someone touched by the Everwinter, dresses like the BCR and uses their signature crossbows & javelins is just among the Gutbusters as a Man-Eater Beastclaw mercenary.(plus his trailer is him taking contract jobs in a blizzard suiting such a hybrid of Everwinter mercenary) If he was a Gutbuster…he’d have a Gut.(it’s an important distinction, there’s multiple friendlier Order Ogors like the Cursed City one and Drekki Flynt’s crew mate noted to both be thinner and more reasonably because they aren’t Gutbusters who pride themselves on being fat gluttonous bullies. Flynt’s even puts down his food so he can join a brawl to help the Kharadron crew) So I’m very confident that’s the reasoning here. He’s really a BCR but the Man-Eater overrides that and fits him under Gutbusters as a freelancer. (And hopefully will tie into the Warcry Bloodhunt with a warband of Bloodpelt Hunter Man-Eaters)
  2. I imagine the trophy is Flesh Eater Courts as a champion symbol for their royal knights madness. Crossed hammers could be new Duardin(and hopefully Gholemkin or Valaya’s Valikraz valkyries) but as this is likely educated guesses I imagine it’s pointing to Cities of Sigmar since they have a hammer icon on their Mallus coins. Will believe it when i see it but the rest should line up.
  3. Fingers crossed for it being a hint for the future. 🤞 A rhinox nomad merc-leader would be a great middle-sized leader for Warcry like the Centaurian Marshall and could tie-in to the Bloodpelt as fellow Beastclaw Man-eaters. (that could be the new Man-Eater theme, instead of various cultures it’s primal winter hunters from across the Realm of Beasts)
  4. I think he’s a Man Eater, he’s too Beastclaw Raider looking to be a Gutbuster what with the Everwinter aesthetic, fur pelts, crossbow and javelins they all like to use. As a Man Eater he gets to still be a BCR but loses the keyword so he can operate for any tribe like Blackpowder can despite being a Gutbuster in turn.
  5. Interesting note that might domino into something tasty for Ogors. the Table of Contents has the Bloodpelt Hunter in the Gutbuster section. This makes no sense. Everything about him from his model to his articles is associated with the Everwinter and Beastclaw Raiders. But what else is he associated with that could justify it? He’s a mercenary that hires his services out and like Blackpowder and the Man-Eater units that means no Gutbuster nor BCR keywords despite being apart of those tribes.(like Blackpowder is a Gutbuster but the Man-Eater keyword overtakes/eats it so he’s freelance) So how can a Beastclaw Hunter that’s gallivanting wherever he pleases despite a blizzard chasing him(while making a great snow base) be a good thing? Because besides a herald for the Everwinter he might be a Warcry herald for the Bloodhunt Warcry expansion and the promise of more Man-Eater Ogors looking for Bloodpelts to follow him. 🤩
  6. Thought this was worth resurrecting this thread over. Chris Peach retiring from GW after over 20 years being an inspiration there. Happy trails and best wishes to him and wherever he goes.
  7. Oh that’s from 40k, guy pointed out it’s from a Xenology book. I actually talked to Emmet about that on Reddit. Seems the Ulfenkarn supplement takes place Before the events of the Cursed City board game. Making it closer to how Anvilgard is historical content now with both being before Broken Realms narrative. (I was curious about it because the Soulblight update White Dwarf said that despite the Duke being defeated the city still sank into the Shyish Nadir, though the heroes managed to get all the innocents out of the city before that happened. So I was wondering did it take place right before it sank into the black hole of death magic)
  8. I’m thinking they might use the new Sylvaneth style of Glades + Seasons for CoS’ future Cities + Sub-factions. The recent AoS3 tomes have been big on getting rid of as many restrictions as possible to army building, afterall.(even allies dropped the “Cities of Sigmar But only their Duardin keyword units” so now there’s Fyreslayer armies using cheaper Dark Spear units to hold objectives or Stormdrakes & Phoenixes to give their Magmadroths air cover) So I’m thinking you choose one of the 7 Realms cities and then: Freeguild: buffs melee and command points generation through their martial prowess. Ironweld: Handgun and War Machine buffs with their tech. Edit: though thinking along this line buffing “Ironweld keywords” with hand gunners having one could happen. Order of Azyr: Hero and elite buffs to hunt down daemons, sorcerers and Endless Spells. Collegiate Arcanum: Wizard warrior time with more casting and empowered Endless Spells like they had before.
  9. Well note they’re not corrupted, there’s a leaked except from the StD battletome that the Stormcast souls at least aren’t “helpless tortured” souls but angry lightning gheists trying to claw their way back to Azyr and blasting any Chaos entity they see with lightning. That’s how Eternus first died to be reforged, Belakor dragged him up there and the lightning gheists blasted them both, only singeing Belakor but turning Eternus into a burnt husk down to the bones. Belakor then began sucking up their souls and putting their energy into Eternus to reforge him for the first time. It’s badass for both sides, Belakor tanking a ton of lightning strikes along with Chaos’ insidious nature to use souls like batteries and Stormcasts being so incorruptible even when surrounded by warp energy that it was the only thing Belakor could use them for as they continue being a threat to Chaos even as bodiless souls.(and can still be rescued by Stormcast crusaders) I look forward to seeing how the Chaos civil war develops. Archaon seems to have his hell-armored hands full more and more each day. Also really loving the Soulbound stuff. Nice touch that they genderswapped everyone to give them their own Soulbound style. Sadly can’t play as the City’s cool Death forces but that’s what the Death Champions supplement can fix. 😎
  10. Missed this post, duardin wizards are canon to AoS(technically Kharadron are already that but they’ll argue to hell and back magic is just misunderstood science, a battlemage even argues with an Aetheric-Navigator in Arkanaut’s Oath that they’re the same) as in the Corebook it confirms the Aethermancers that go to stop the Lord-Griffon god-beast from contorting the continents further in the Spiral Crux are Duardins with some other human mages in support. The Votann priests would be great callbacks to them(and hopefully a preview of new ideas for Cities) Sadly the only aelf using a gun so far was in “Red Hours” by a Lion Ranger using her wounded freeguild comrade’s firearm but there’s certainly plenty of Soulbound players making gun aelves for the Ironweld, Greywater and Anvilgard Resistance. The commission art for them you can find is always rad(Soulbound fan art in general really ) Yeah, it’s super likely it’s just Bloodpelt Hunter + Battletome for now. Best hope is Bloodpelt is pointing to the Warcry “Bloodhunt” expansion for Ogor back-up in the Gnarlwoods via new Man-Eaters Warband.(the Hunter’s trailer is very mercenary feeling afterall, could be how he got that nice equipment despite the Everwinter on his heels)
  11. We need a Gal named Maleneth Witchblade and a Guy named Bael-Grimnir(Fyreslayer leader whose been a constant power but only gotten White Dwarf rules, he needs a model for their next big update). Come on let’s go! 👏 On a similar note I am very appreciative AoS3 has done so much for AoS1. As a big fan of the Realmgate Wars the big hero releases like the Lady of Vines and King Brodd from that era along with so many of the new battletomes and novels referencing the heroes, places and events from back then (even the lesser known stuff like Jactos Goldenmane from 2015 “Warstorm” being the first Stormcast to battle Khul is in their newest Tome) and even building on it is just so cool and great to see how they’re continuing to flesh out the ongoing narrative while keeping a firm grasp on where it began. Bravo, GW! 👍
  12. I’d imagine around Christmas after StD release as they usually have something nice out like the Gloomspite release where they slowly overran a winter cottage or the more recent Kharadron Brewmaster. But with supply issues who knows? Might just be more free Christmas Realm Rules and Battleplans for a nice treat. Probably just a repackage so they get a shiny new AoS3 box to come in. Same thing happened to Ironjawz Brutes and the like during their new Orruk Tome. But I’m late to the party. @KingBrodd Gargant sized congrats! You deserve this big win for being such a pillar of positivity and fun force of nature this forum needs! The model looks amazing too! Fits perfectly with how the Sons Tome ended on the Creepers fixing his torn clothes and he has a Regal standing to him like a wanderer king keeping on the best vestments he can as he continues to grow and follow his father’s Realm-shaking footsteps.( I wonder if the hammerhead is the sacred stone pillar he used as a club back as a Gargant?) That he’s a priest is just an amazing bonus too! I absolutely can’t wait to see people’s future paint jobs and kitbashes to give him kingly capes and leg coverings will look like. 😍 for other releases: Beastclaw Bloodpelt Hunter: Love him. Armed to the freaking teeth with that crossbow and javelins while the head bandage, crude leg coverings and leaner frame tell the tale of how the Everwinter curse is chasing him constantly so he has to make do as a survivalist. Feels like Gutbusters will end up being the only “fat” Ogors as they can afford to pillage for fun and open Maw Portals to keep finding food across dimensions. Beastclaw Raiders, Order Ogors(Cursed City) and Chaos Ogors(Iron Golems) seem to be leaner instead as they either are trying to survive or have to fit in societies with limited food. Gorechosen: Absolutely love each of them and the different culture styles they show off that Khorne took from his conquest of the Realm of Fire(the Inca look would be perfect for the fiery jungles). Beastgrave & Harrowdeep has been killing it with making Warbands that feel like special ragtag forces outside their factions. Bonus points to naming them similar to the old AoS gladiator game. Anyone remember that? StD: All looks great but Ogroids are the winners for me. Love the continued expansion of Realm-native races, even if it’s by Chaos enslaving them like the Sphiranxes who once worked for Teclis before Tzeentch tricked them over. Ogroids look badass and are a great look at a new race working it’s way into and up the ladder of a tyrannical society as they use their skills, discipline and forging craft to dominate the battlefields, take charge of the gladiator rings and rise to top mage positions under Tzeentch. Edit: Oh yeah the Votann Priests would make ideal Kharadron Aethermancer rebels. The Corebook notes those were Duardin Wizards that helped take down the Lodegriffon in the Age of Myth, would be a cool project for them and their mecha-servants to be Kharadron that want to continue the ways of old wizardry and combine it with technology and not hide behind Aether-science alone. Lastly the new Tome covers look fantastic. I like the Lumineth Hysh crystal background references the Tourmaline Spires where the important event of the Tempest Lord Lord-Relictors convened with Hysh’s light energy so they could open a portal to the Realm of Light again, allowing Sigmar to re-establish communication with the Lumineth after the Age of Chaos ended.
  13. Okay that makes a lot more sense than for UnderWorlds. We already have dad bod artificer and a mentioned Slaughterpriest so a 3rd big weapon powerhouse would’ve been odd. The rest of the Khornites are likely medium support fighters that benefit from the artificer’s fire anvil giving them flame attacks.
  14. King Brodd got a helmet upgrade it seems. 😁 Oh cool! I didn’t know there was any exceptions to the new models being in a vanguard. I was going off the current stuff which doesn’t have the new heroes. Fingers Crossed he’s in then to lead the ice bois. (Or you know, GW. You could repack Hrothgorn and his warband in the Vanguard to fight alongside the Stonehorns. I wouldn’t complain. 😅)
  15. So Ogors before Gloomspite eh? Monkey’s paw curls on people who wanted to be impatient, it likely is just one hero figure then. Good for future Gloomspites, maybe we will see something big for them next year like the Grotbag Scuttlers as a sub-faction? (Could the squig hook be a Grot pirate’s arm?) But lo! A Hunter means Beastclaw Tribes are still wintry kings! So my Vanguard prediction is we’ll see an expansion on the Start collecting: Stonehorn Mournfang Pack Icebrow Hunter Frost Sabres x 2 $200 worth of minis now with ambush options to support the big beasties and freeze everything in their path(and later be a quick proxy to the Bloodpelt Hunter). And yeah, Bloodpelt Hunter does seem like someone who might employ Man-Eaters in Warcry’s upcoming “Bloodhunt” expansion…
  16. Yeah it’s very unfortunate, especially with the speculation going around that they might have expected it to keep until early next year for a Ogor vanguard with the new tome. So we might not see a replacement for a long time while supply issues mean they’ll struggle to bring this back. RIP to an amazing Start Collecting and the Beastclaw Raiders shining glory achievement as a awesome faction of monstrous Everwinter powerhouses. 😔✊❄️ For the future Vanguard I imagine it’ll be: Tyrant 2 x glutton units Ironblaster and the new Man-Eaters. That’ll fit the infantry heavy Vanguards that justify the $130 price with a $200 force that comes out to an immediate 1000 points to get straight into battle. Plus the infantry, mercs and firepower fit my theory of the start of next year seeing us get into the trenches of the Great Gutfort as all sides duke it out to control the mega-fortress while the Gutbusters make everyone pay for every bloody step with heavy artillery barrages and skilled monster infantry combatants filling the narrow trenches so numbers mean nothing to them.
  17. Well note he’s on some Cursed City terrain but yeah he’s a smidge taller than the old man and daughter. Probably just because he’s a quest hero not lined up with main AoS exactly but it is kinda justified in the novel since he’s not a stranger to drinking Stardrake Blood vials in a tight spot. They supercharge a human enough to go toe-to-toe with a full powered vampire in speed and strength at the cost of their life expectancy. It probably warped his body a bit using that stuff.
  18. That “busy” typo though. 😂 but yeah, personally not expecting it until 2025+ like they said back In the Warhammer World 2020 interviews. Big meh to me either way. That’s just gonna be potential AoS proxies(if the scales aren’t out of whack. The modern Witch Hunters are twice the size of most 6th edition humans) (if they stick to”you can use your old army scale” that’s a problem) Looking forward to the CoS update. If those royal sigils are anything to go by there can be some fun mashups between medieval AoS humans and the technological ones. It adds to the fun juxtaposition Age of Sigmar does like in the new Drekki Flynt novel there’s duardin bars with steam-powered pipe organs and Air Hockey that feel like something out of the 1900’s diners. Also did anyone else note how close the new Escher bikes resemble the tech out of Venturellas’s Aqshy army? https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/04/17/vince-venturellas-cities-of-sigmar-armygw-homepage-post-4/
  19. My bet is Sons with King Brodd as a mega-gargant priest for their new battletome.(as fittingly where the single hero updates would have the biggest impact) Gloomspite with one new crawly hero But Underworlds loophole used to get past the solo hero update trend this year plus the spider incarnate for a climatic Gallet battle to go on towards it’s end. And then next year we head north/edgeward from Gallet to the Great Gutfort where Mawtribes get their shiny new Man-eaters, refreshed Butcher and possibly another hero or unit for siege specialists.
  20. True, this year started with those Chaos vs Spider Riders in December rumors. surprise Gloomspite spider warband to replace the ones put in rotation might be what ambushes the new Khorne guys in Nethermaze. Would go with the current Gallet creepy crawlers and herald the spider incarnate.
  21. Very possible! Something like Primordial Realm-Incarnates for their tome that mirrors the Sons of Behemat as Destruction forces anyone can use or go on their own with new binding rules so they don’t need a hero or run wild.(maybe bind to eachother and start supercharged but get weaker as each one is stopped?) It’d certainly help to organize them all if we’re getting multiple Incarnates per Realm. I remember when Endless Spells were getting teased but they didn’t reveal what they did yet that I thought it might be a new faction of all living spells that are independent of wizards. Would love to see the Elementals take up that mantle!
  22. Haha, on the bright side they also liked your armored elite and Greywater hand gunners theory. if we get Anything from Soulbound for the faction reboot then that’s a solid win.(especially the Ironweld equipment like the steam-powered armor) Otherwise yeah, let’s keep expectations level. We could one day get super steampunk mortals on par with Kharadron and really shows off the crazy ideas the Ironweld & Greywater can do but definitely not soon.
  23. Greywater Fastness teaser pics. I get why the Sylvaneth don’t like it, the old little pics of a factory city didn’t do it justice as the red flaming behemoth it was. The single militarized road the Sylvaneth allow out of the city: (according to Dark Harvest it does well despite the one road with the vast swamps around the Fastness containing hundreds of small fiefdoms able to afford their own mercenary protection) Nice to see they’re expanding on the Wanderers hiding in the city from the Sylvaneth who still view them as a traitor race. This book contains: An epic campaign told across five thrilling adventures. Walk the streets of one of Sigmar’s most industrialised cities then strike out into the blasted wastelands and vibrant wilds of the Realm of Life. A comprehensive guide to the city of Greywater Fastness. Discover its history and how it was founded, explore over 70 unique and strange locations, and learn about the major players in the city. A beautifully illustrated map of Greywater Fastness! New items to purchase in the city’s black markets, and new Endeavours to undertake while in the city! New terrifying monsters and allied NPCs for your Binding to encounter! Keep an eye out for more information on Blackened Earth over the coming weeks, as we ramp up to the release of this grand new adventure.
  24. Surprised no one mentioned the Freeguild armored warrior in the animation. Her big pauldrons match up with the Cursed City heroine and gives off a mini-Stormcast vibe: (Which I strongly suspect since we haven’t seen either with helms we got some elaborate Freeguild face-helms on the way to match like a certain Hexbaner) Also Soulbound news today, we got Greywater fastness humans:
