  1. Piracy is wrong. Selling poorly edited books that require erratas is wrong. Selling products knowing that they will be invalidated within a year is wrong. The solution is to stop using the products and demand better. As long as people keep buying these books then they have no incentive to improve their products. Vote with your wallet.
  2. The rate at which GW erratas and invalidates their publications is quite shocking. It's a good thing to fix a problem but how can they always have so many problems with every single book for so many years??? Customers should be demanding better products. This is embarassing.
  3. This was always correct RAW, the FAQ did not change anything I'm disappointed but not surprised
  4. It could be a regular human wearing heavy armor and a lot of the typical stormcast iconography, or it could be a dressed-down stormcast. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  5. I doubt it's future proofing... Campaign books are usually obsoleted by new editions.
  6. Are you aware of the Astral Compass ability that allows you to set up >7" instead of >9" (along a table edge)?
  7. They were made indirectly stronger: 1. They are very good in Tempest Lords since they can both shoot and fight 2. They fill a Vanguard Angelos Conclave battalion (which now has a much stronger ability than it did before) 3. They fill a Soulstrike Brotherhood (which is much stronger with the changes to Castigators) 4. They are only 100p for 5 I don't see Hunters as anything more than a skirmishing/scouting unit that can sometimes fill battleline requirements. What kind of changes would you like to see?
  8. Stormkeep/Scions split is an interesting concept. I look forward to seeing how they expand upon it in the 3rd edition battletome... though I know I will ultimately be disappointed yet again. I'm starting to think that the 2017 battletome with those wonky stormhost battalions and Aetherstrike was actually the best time to play Stormcast.
  9. How do you expect to do with that list? 2-3? Personally I don't see the value in liberator spam. You're obviously not going to kill anything and there are armies that can easily punch through 60 wounds of 3+rr1 in two turns through magic, shooting, combat, or some combination and then win on objectives in 3-4 rounds. I especially don't see the value in bringing 60 Libs... why not just bring 30 Liberators and some kind of hammer unit that can actually do damage? Your list is going to perform very poorly on some battleplans like Knife to the Heart (you can't claim a major victory here because you have no damage to push them off their objective) or Starstrike (your list relies on getting onto an objective quickly, which is not possible here) or Places of Arcane Power (few & weak leaders). If you know the battleplans ahead of this time may not be an issue.
  10. Ballistae or Gunhaulers? Why not both? Stormkeep - Astral Templars Steam Tank with Commander - Staunch Defender, Mirror Shield Steam Tank with Commander Lord-Ordinator Knight-Azyros 3x5 Liberators 1x3 Gyrocopter 3x1 Grundstok Gunhauler 4x1 Celestar Ballista 1980/2000 15 units (3 COS), 390/400 ally points
  11. The core rules are very clear, you need a HERO to use a command ability.
  12. I said "over two turns" to be generous but the reality is that if you put 30 liberators in front of the entire enemy army then it will easily be torn apart by the end of the first round. Against some armies (Fyreslayers, OBR, Lumineth) your liberators won't survive their own combat phase. Slaanesh players will thank you for your generous donation of 30 depravity points. Melee alpha strike is not a good enough strategy; "alpha tar pit" is an even worse strategy.
  13. Putting a large block of Liberators on the doorstep is a good strategy unless you are playing against armies that can easily screen and tear apart 30 Liberators over two turns (Ironjawz, Fyreslayers, FEC, Slaanesh, COS, Seraphon, Tzeentch, Lumineth, Gitz, Skaven, OBR) any deep strike army (Kharadron, Idoneth, DOK, BOC, Nighthaunt) and only if you are playing on scenarios that favour fast objective play. Great strategy except for all those scenarios!
  14. Consider that as per the FAQ they don't get their bonus shots in the hero phase, so you would be getting only 30 shots in the hero phase (assuming you get all the models within 16" range) and even after teleporting their 16" range limits their potential targets. Relying on naked cast 6 and then leaving irondrakes exposed to charges seems like a poor idea when you could just bring in Judicators/Longstrikes instead. 20 Judicators doing 32+8d6 shots at 24" is better than trying to squeeze in 30+60 shots at 16", especially when you give the Judicators +1 hit. Furthermore, Judicators have 40 wounds and easily get +2 to saves, and count as a battleline unit. I just can't see any single unit in COS I would rather use instead of 20 Judicators (in the scenario where you can use the Anvils ability on a COS unit).
  15. Even if they could use the Anvils ability, nothing in the COS book has both the range and damage output you need to make that command ability worth using on them. I think it will always be better used on 20 Judicators or 9/12 Longstrikes. I suppose you could build some kind of ultra shooty list with a big block of Judicators and a big COS shooting block, but I think going all-in with shooting and not having Scions available is too risky for objective play.
  16. Why would it get changed? There are other armies that can bring units outside their own faction, make those units the general, and give them a command trait.
  17. You can take Staunch Defender and a Stormhost at the same time If you don't need Scions of the Storm then it's a no-brainer to take a COS unit with a big base (hurricanum, luminark, steam tank, phoenix, etc.) as your general.
  18. What are you guys hoping to see for Stormcast in the winter FAQ update?
  19. KO box is awful, way too much overlap with the Start Collecting. Is ANYONE interested in getting so many gunhaulers and riggers/wardens?
  20. That underworlds nurgle model with the prolapsed ******
  21. The answer to melee arms race was to not participate in the melee arms race Anvilstrike was doing well until teleporting shooting armies became more commonplace
  22. It's not a "charitable interpretation" its just using the rules as they are written. Other armies that can take units outside their regular allegiance (Tempest Eye in COS, Barak-Thryng in KO, are there any others?) require specific keywords and/or specify that those added units cannot be the general or count as battleline. As you can see there is no consistency in these rules - DUARDIN Barak-Thryng units cannot be the general, while KHARADRON Tempest Eye units can be the general. Stormcast do not currently have any of these restrictions. Stormkeeps do not grant any keywords but they "count as" (an ill-defined term) stormcast units when using command abilities which is already different from the other examples. They might errata it in the future but that would be a strange thing to do with 3rd edition only a few months away that will almost certainly invalidate all the rules in Broken Realms.
  23. Shooting has been the meta since 2nd edition began, you guys are just catching up now
  24. Heres a stupid list Stormkeep - Astral Templars Steam Tank with Commander - Staunch Defender, Mirror Shield Steam Tank with Commander Lord-Ordinator Knight-Azyros Liberators Liberators Liberators 3x Gyrocopter Grundstok Gunhauler Grundstok Gunhauler Grundstok Gunhauler Celestar Ballista Celestar Ballista Celestar Ballista Celestar Ballista 1980/2000, 15 units (3 COS), 390/400 ally points
