  1. So do other worshipers, it's not that unique. (either other gods or even the one they are devoted to) 'Slaves to Darkness' would already be a rather appropriate keyword. It encompasses the guys that think they are free and do not realize they are slaves (Darkoath), the ones that got forced into it and/or consumed by it (StD) and the slavers on top (Everchosen).
  2. Judging from the video, he seems to be on a base bigger than the other Fleshhounds but smaller than Bloodcrushers. Which would mean he's on 75 x 42mm.
  3. Not going to happen, GW has been pretty aggressive in limiting interactions between two books/allegiances within the current GHB cycle. (especially when it comes to battalions and artifacts)
  4. Aren't that the rumoured dates for the Christmas sets?!
  5. It's within the FAQ/Designers Commentary, which beats anything that is written in a battletome. As this was discussed several times and even GW was forced to make a definite statement, here are some quotes: There are no loopholes and this issue has been discussed to death as several players enjoyed the Everchosen battalions... there seems to be a distinct hate for them on GW's side as they've made an exception with Beasts of Chaos to this rule recently. It's feasible that GW wants them out of the way until they've (re)done a Everchosen/StD/Darkoath book.
  6. Darn, I recently finished "Warqueen" and the difference in Battletome-Khorne to book-Khorne is just infuriating. In short, brainless frat-bros who cannot hold a single thought for more than 5 seconds vs knights with a certain battle-lust, a twisted sense of honor, some form of low infrastructure (dread holds, prisons, forges...) while being able to play the long game mentally. (Eight Lamentations is another good and depressing example of what Mortal Khorne should be...) Got really hyped up to continue painting my Blood Warriors instead of my Nurgle force but then I realized again why I shelved my mortal forces in the first place...
  7. 🤨 No offense, but you either are very new to the hobby or have an poor overview of what kind of abominations are still circulating. Maybe take a gander into the Destruction section... Either way, to somehow get back to rumours and what's to come. There is only a very slim chance that warriors and similar chaos models are redone/getting an update before 2020+. If Darkoath are not a stand-alone book and there is an Everchosen + StD + Darkoath mashup battletome, this chance is pretty much zero. Seemingly some people around here are not too happy about this reality, but it's important to manage your expectations (especially in a rather slow moving hobby).
  8. What's up with this fixation on Chaos Warriors and Knights... there is pretty much no way these models will get an update anytime soon. Their aesthetics have aged incredibly well and their styles works flawlessly for AoS. On top of that, their proportions are in line with Blood Warriors and other, newer Chaos models with the same base-size. An argument could be made for Chosen, as these models are not distinct enough from normal warriors but that's about it. Everything else from the 'heavy armoured' portion of StD is at least decent model-wise.
  9. I'm happy as long as they are retiring those atrocious Marauder models and Archaon finally gets his place (army) as our lord and maaaaassssttterr. I can see a big book as well, with some sub-factions restrictions probably.
  10. Might be a temporary fix, the same way allegiance abilities are handed out in the GHB and overwritten shortly after.
  11. This. I get an overall Norsca meets Conan vibe from how they are positioning Darkoath. Which doesn't fit the rest of StD and Archaon still needs tabletop representation of the vast forces he has assembled in books. I would be surprised if this goes any other way tbh, as this solves multiple problems at once. Chaos would get a rather unique army which is not entirely compromised of "KILL MAIM BURN edgelords" and Archaon would finally get his forces (and a potential book with more than 3 units...).
  12. Chaos Warriors are probably the single best aging model GW ever produced. They are from 6th edition WHFB and are still looking fine, compare that to Seraphon or some other armies that just look terrible... I highly doubt we'll see an update on them in the next years. An exception might be Chosen, as they do not look distinct enough from the rest (and are finecast...). The Marauder part of StD on the other hand... it's painful just looking at them. I don't want to contribute to the abundance of wish-listing in this thread, but I've got the feeling that StD will be split. Marauders being now Darkoath and rather low on the corruption scale and the knight-ish part bolstering Archaon. He send them back because he felt like he wasn't going to sell them anyway or they got ordered back from GW?
  13. There are Archaon-Slingshot lists. Something like Archaon, GUO, Bloodstoker and Juggerlord in a Nurgle list. Throw some battlelines and maybe Cogs into the mix and you are done.
  14. The important difference is, that the Squiggoth is still manufactured and can be bought from an official website.
  15. Tbh, I have a hunch that GW will release a new mammoth themselves and it will be the centerpiece model for Darkoath (low-corruption barbarians). No point in losing/selling a kidney if you are only interested in the Knight/Warrior portion of StD.
  16. The competitiveness of a model doesn't really matter if there is no way to get it for a reasonable price.
  17. That's actually their whole point. They are really good against other medium or light infantry and especially against other melee-focused armies. If the meta would revolve more around those, they would probably have a place in the top competitive lists. As it stands, the meta seems to revolve around lists with high mortal wound or general damage output and ones which focus heavily on objectives with hard to remove units. Both of these do not really favour Blood Warriors, no matter on which end of the table they are placed.
  18. Chaos Warriors are probably the single best aging GW model ever. They are pretty much timeless and work great in AoS despite being from 6th edition WHFB.
  19. Yes, the second quote is only about the link between Grand Alliances and smaller factions within them. Army building or more specific choosing you faction is not a two step thing anymore, like in the previous edition. Now you choose once and that's it and they've been rather clear about it. Defaulting back to Grand Alliance abilities was killed with AoS 2.0 as well and they even made an FAQ entry to make absolutely sure it is understood (ergo, only factions that have no abilities of their own can be faction-x and still get GA abilities). Factions and army allegiance in AoS 2.0 has been a hot topic several times on this board alone (with the same results every time) but I guess players are just so used to how it worked beforehand. The funny thing is, the current iteration is a lot clearer and arguably more elegant (no more cherry-picking or abusing battleline-ifs...).
  20. The former and they always know their warscroll prayer in addition to the picked blood blessing.
  21. Probably not, Tzeentch is lacking mortal units (like medium or heavy infantry) of their own to carry a mortal setup and the StD lists were too reliant on Fatesworn. You could play StD with Fatesworn as Chaos allegiance, which would probably be not half bad, but it kinda defeats the purpose of your question. I really hope they don't skip over mortals like they did with Tzeentch, in a potential Slaanesh battletome next year.
