  1. That's good news. I kinda expect them to add the scroll to the app again with the next update as well.
  2. Nothing, it's just a text reduction and streamlining for the battletome, but somehow people got the wrong idea.
  3. Nothing has changed regarding artifacts. The tables still have their restrictions. The only thing that changed, is that there is only one introduction text instead of two (in the same way other books do it). Somehow two texts were too confusing... To be honest, the last couple posts about this are hilarious.
  4. Just the spamming is gone, which comes to no surprise... Plaguetouched is not going to make a comeback, as it stays locked behind Everchosen or GA: Chaos allegiance. Geminids got nerfed as well, only one can affect a given unit but never both.
  5. @Luke1705 I personally don't like the lack of a 3rd wizard. Every round you pretty much want to cast: Plague Squall Blades Fleshy Abundance Regenesis to set the wheel back to 5 or if need be 2 There is no room for Geminids, although there is an argument to be made to cast them over Plague Squall, unless they are already on the board. Either way, there is still no 'optional' or 'open' cast to get rid of an endless spell that already hit the board. It's probably a play style/preference thing. Concerning the FAQ... I'm just waiting for it to finally drop, so I can order the rest of my army. I worked out various variants of the Archaon/Nurgle list... with Plaguetouched (for the unlikely event of an 180 on the previous FAQ) with Sorcerer Lord/Balewind/Geminids with Sorcerer Lord/a unit Blightkings instead of endless spells with Nurgle Sorcerer/a unit of Blightkings/Geminids no Sorcerers/no endless spells/2 units of Blightkings no Sorcerers/a unit of Blightkings/2 full units of Marauders/Geminids (although this on is not really a consideration, as I would hate to buy another 40 dudes which are likely to be discontinued and haven't aged that well model-wise) So, FAQ please.
  6. That's normal when a edition or something similarly significant changes. Same goes for digital games, when you have to learn an entirely new build-order or approach to the game after a patch. I'm aware that this is not the same from a financial perspective, but to be honest you either roll with it and the hobby or you don't. Games have to be shaken up once in a while, a stagnant meta is not enjoyable. For the paint-part, this is rarely to never enforced, not even by GW itself and the player-base unanimously ignores such rules.
  7. It's due this month. So most likely next week, if there are no unforeseen circumstances.
  8. It would be kinda hilarious if they paddle back on that one. As the only intention of the ruling seemingly was to make sure that battalions stay within their faction in matched play. Although I'd like to use Bloodmarked in Khorne or Plaguetouched, it was a good and reasonable change. (faction identity, balancing reasons...) I'd rather have an updated version of Everchosen or Chaos Undivided, instead of reverting stuff.
  9. You can try and see if it works out for you. Personally, double battalion lists were a rarity before 2.0 (e.g. GPilgrims + Murderhost, GPilgrims + BStampede) and the situations only got worse with the increase in points. It's not unreasonable, just generally inefficient.
  10. That's not how it works. See the Firestorm FAQ. In short, you can only take Fist of the Everchosen when you are using Grand Alliance allegiance. If your army has any other allegiance, you cannot add the Firestorm factions and abilities to it. They FAQ'd this, after a heavy backlash from the community. On another note, I just realized that you probably just made a typo, but I'll post this regardless so newer players might not be confused.
  11. It's one of the new realm artifacts and can be found in the Malign Sorcery book. It's from Ulgu and reads as follows: I think I do not have to explain why it's good, especially against another melee focused army without a whole lot of shooting or magic.
  12. That's probably something I should have clarified from the start. With "grim" I mean two things. One likelihood of reaching the top 10% in a solo tournament and for two, general flexibility and "roundness" of a faction. Which is something not everyone cares about. Khorne is by default a rather static faction and it's to some degree their appeal. Sadly, GW left Khorne with only one competitively viable battalion and the new stuff from 2.0 does not a whole much for the faction. (especially the focus on magic and lets not name the issues with Blood Tithe again or the preemptive nerfs) One important thing to realize, is that 90% of the things on the internet do not matter in your particular situation. Everyone has his local meta and there is a good chance that armies that usually do not perform well are dominating the club and winning 2/3 or 4/5 of their games. So everything should be taken with a metric ton of salt and if you are not a matched play junkie you can pretty much skip half the posts around here. Khorne will eventually win a tournament or place rather well, that's something I wholeheartedly expect. Especially when people start to forget what Khorne can do but I would be pleasantly surprised if this would be a common occurrence. (although, many factions have it a lot worse, anyone remembers GA: Destruction? So it's a bit of a first world problem) Another important thing to remember, AoS and a lot of tabletopts are not complex games at the core. The state of a game can sometimes be predicted with surprising accuracy, just by having a reasonable understanding of the rules and scenarios. We already see several predictions from the last month validated... which doesn't mean that internet people can't be wrong, misjudge or overlook things. The last one is what I'm hoping for in consideration of Khorne. What I'm trying to say, play whatever brings you fun and don't get discouraged by internet people.
  13. The result has almost no value due to the format. (Although still an impressive performance) The outlook for Khorne is still rather grim and the list in question is just a variation of an established archetype. (so we already know its weaknesses and pitfalls) What I want is a list that nobody even remotely considered but personally I doubt there is anything that does not start with Gore Pilgrims. Which has a limited amount of possibilities and is already well known and tested.
  14. Where exactly? As it stands it's not in the paper version, or I'm just blind. Both are equally possible.
  15. It's from Blightwar afaik and seemingly has no points currently.
  16. It's an alternation from the hybrid lists before 2.0, in which you usually played 2x30 or even 3x30 Bloodletters. It was somewhat expected that a list like this would pop up sooner or later. It's probably not the only, at least somewhat capable list, but it's very likely that any other will include Gore Pilgrims as well. So, they'll be somewhat similar as there is just no competitively viable option otherwise.
  17. You have to take a look at the Nurgle lists, they were more on the daemon-side than mortal (so no Glottkin with +wound, no Harbinger, no Blightknights, no -toHit stuff...). My guess is, that he probably chewed through one or two units pretty early in the game and then there were are only characters left (or visa versa with unbuffed troops but that seems unlikely). Therefore crippling the Nurgle armies and then he just mopped up the rest with prayers and whatever is left. Both lists wanted to omega-buff a unit with attacks and other shenanigans, doesn't really matter though if the unit is decimated or even outright killed. One thing to remember: This is really important to keep in mind for any team tournament. Sometimes you get to counter X out of X games, sometimes you get sacrificed (probably happened to the Nurgle players here) so someone else can rake up points for the team and so on. Team tournaments are super fun and super weird at the same time. Personally I always enjoyed the mind games when both team captains would pair the armies against each other, trying to get more favourable matchups than the other.
  18. Afaik all relevant units in Khorne (Lord on Juggernaut, Bloodletters, Skullreapers, Bloodthirsters...) have the 6 or more and 6 or higher wording. I haven't found single Khorne unit with a different wording, in my quick search. Therefore there is no change for Khorne either way.
  19. Concerning the 6 Nation list, something that shouldn't be forgotten is that this is a team tournament. Due to the restrictions you have to pick weaker factions at some point (and only the Swedes picked Khorne). Furthermore, they might actually strive as the teams can somewhat control how they pair them. Nevertheless, I believe that IF there is a top list for Khorne, it will have the Doppelganger Cloak or Ethereal Amulet in it. Although I'm a bit concerned about these two and some other realm artifacts, as they seem so powerful that they might end up as auto-includes in several lists. I've been telling people this for about a month and they were always like "lol, we'll just unbind and hinder all the magics, we antimagic faction duh!"... Spelleater Curse can only be used once per turn and hinders summoning at the same time. Blood Tithe will be used the same way it was before, for the cheaper abilities (1-3) and very rarely for the more expensive ones.
  20. GA: Chaos would work too. After some thought I support the reasoning behind the change. Battalions are now a lot clearer rule-wise and stricter regarding their identity. The problem is just that the Everchosen book is from a time before GW figured out the standard for battletomes. (No artifacts, no abilities, no spells and a meager range of models due to splitting everything into sub-factions and not being sure about merging them again.)
  21. Flesh Hounds are battleline-ifs when the army has Khorne allegiance. Yes, Karanak's summoning is for free.
  22. Apparently so. There is not much known about the Tomes after SCE and NH. For now, there is some 40k stuff coming up, as AoS took the limelight for the last couple months. TBH, I'm not sure if we should expect a chaos battletome before 2019. There will be some releases left for AoS in 2018 but these could be anything.
  23. There are none. They just get a small boost if you play with Realm of Battle rules and you are playing in their respective realm. Although, it's unlikely that Realms of Battle will find its way into events. Note, the home realm thing of your army and the artifacts are separated from the Realms of Battle set, these are two different things. The latter encompasses realm spells from the Malign Sorcery book and everything in the Core Book following page 254.
  24. The problem is that Blood Tithe is a flawed system to the core (I made a longer post a couple pages ago why that is the case). With a couple small tweaks it could have been a lot more flexible and enjoyable to play with but GW decided to just nerf factions that received summoning (except Nurgle) and let the game run its course until GHB2019. It doesn't help that Khorne was declining before 2.0 and except the general rule changes, which everyone benefits from, there is not much going Khorne's way. Maybe somewhere between all this there is the one and only meta breaker Khorne list, but I don't see it.
