  1. Hi, This will not be a problem at all mate . Firestorm have their own chef who is very accommodating towards dietary requirements. You'll be fed no issue I've had a few more payments come in over the weekend and I believe we may be over 80 players now, which is fantastic. I'll get the entrants list updated as soon as I get a chance today/tomorrow. Cheers, Chris
  2. Cheers to the three of you; @TinyDino, @Morglum StormBasha and @Sangfroid Also... I can confirm Kieran is a man of his word. First thing I saw when I woke up was his payment coming through!
  3. Good question. Unfortunately though, I'm not really one for clamouring over snippets of drip fed information! What this means is that ideally I don't want to get too panicked/excited about anything just yet. I'll wait to we have the full picture and will reassess our situation then. If Rock Lobbers end up being worse because characters have more protection, then this may actually be good news for us as the same should be true for our characters. I don't mind if our lists end up changing as a result of the new edition, it's just way too early to say what those changes could be. Sorry to be a bore!
  4. Up to 70 paid attendants now guys! Really hope there's a bunch more people excited to play AoS2 who want to get involved! Still time to get a ticket. Chris
  5. If you removed the wings and modelled a cloak thing over his entire body he'd probably look the part with little else required!
  6. Firmir would be cool....but super expensive. Depends how deep you want to take the theme I guess. I suspect you could do something solid enough with Tzaangor.
  7. Great idea! Landstriders would look right at home in the Mortal Realms. That said, a Tzeentchian Skeksis army seems the easiest route to go!
  8. Awesome man, that's great news. I'm sure you'll have a blast. Up to 68 players now
  9. I have made a couple of Twitter accounts for my main two characters. Whilst there isn't much going on with them at the moment, I will be using them to help build my narrative in the run up to this event, including taking the army to a couple of other events beforehand to help lay down the foundations. Give them a follow if you like; @prince_xarca @autumn__ashe Note the double underscore on the second one. Chris
  10. Yeh I've played four games of escalating sizes so far. Hard to take too much from these smaller games and also the fact the other three armies in the campaign are all reasonably soft. I have won them all and they have been pretty fun. Currently have considerably more Glory (the Firestorm win condition) than the others. Will be interesting to see how I find the army in bigger games though. At the current 1,300pt level we are planning a full days gaming with a round robin on Sunday. My army has all but doubled in size 23>44 and I've added a magic phase this month, so I expect it to do pretty well. Mounted one needs to be more expensive. Definitely underpointed at present. You can tell this by the way they are appearing in a bunch of mixed Order armies at present. Jack Armstrong even had one in his Vanguard Wing army that won SCGT. As for my month five additions, the models are assembled and sprayed; I will start the painting next week and expect it to be a fairly smooth road to completion with just four models (Archmage & 3 Raptors). Cheers, Chris
  11. Cheers man! Haha yeah certainly works in this example. This is interesting. I'd never really considered Wanderers (tbh off the top of my head I wouldn't have even said they were one of the ally options for Phoenix Temple!). Some of the range could definitely fit in aesthetically and I love the thinking before Araloth fluffwise. I really hope we'll find out what happened with that bro at some point, his little arc seemed so crucial at the end of End Times: Khaine. I'm definitely thankful for Phoenix Temple getting mentioned with the Firestorm campaign. It at least validates them as being a faction that exists within the Mortal Realms. Personally I think this is a must. The bonus granted by the Anointed is huge and it makes zero sense for them to be pointed the same. I'm actually considering having the 3rd Phoenix in this army to be unridden anyway. Allows me to do something different with the pose. Cheers guys, Chris
  12. Morning, Nice to see a few more people signing up. Attendance is slowly creeping up to a pretty respectable figure. We also still have some big dogs to add to the list when they pick up their tickets (hint hint @ChippyRick @Sangfroid @Countmoore @Nigehelm ) Don't forget to get your grudges in as well!
  13. Entrants 01 - Paul Buckler 02 - Tom Hewitt 03 - James Eveleigh 04 - Steve Phillips 05 - Ricky Mee 06 - Matt Lyons 07 - Wayne Rendell 08 - Rich Belfield 09 - Andy Talbot 10 - Chris Tomlin (if odd numbers)
  14. Event Title: The Well of Souls - Matched Played Skirmish - Sunday 10th June Event Author: Chris Tomlin Calendar: Events UK Event Date: 06/10/2018 12:00 AM Morning all, I am running another Skirmish event at Dogger HQ, located just outside of Dorchester in Dorset (if you want to attend, DM @Paul Buckler for directions). This time, rather than doing it over a Thursday club night, it will be held on a Sunday. Hopefully this will make the journey more worthwhile for others. There is also the potential to play a full game of AoS once the event finishes (as we'll be done by 15:30). As we have a little more time, I've expanded the scope of the event and we will be playing 4 games. We will also be using the Realm of Death artefacts, command abilities and mysterious terrain Skirmish tables from Malign Portents to add a bit of flavour. You can find the full pack here - http://traffic.libsyn.com/theblacksun/The_Well_of_Souls.pdf There are 16 spaces available, with trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best Warband and Best Sports. Terrain is provided. Tickets cost just £5 and can be purchased via Paypal (friends & family) to lunatic_pandora@btinternet.com Hope to see a few new faces, Skirmish is great fun! 16. Great news! I will update entrants later. I'm probably going to look to close ticket sales around the end of June so I know how many players to expect. Will confirm that in due course though. Still plenty of time to get your ticket. I am going to delay putting out a proper pack of sorts just yet following the weekends announcements. I can confirm that this event will be played using the new AoS 2nd Edition rules as they will drop a good month or so beforehand. Pretty exciting! Chris
  17. That's awesome man, glad you had a good time with it Be sure to share pics of what you do for your Rock Lobbers. Hahaha...oh man! Definitely a stand out game this year...for all the wrong reasons! Amazingly disgraceful. Anyhow, I do need to update this blog as I did have a game a couple of weeks ago. Ran the Rogue Idol a first time for a bit of fun vs a new player. Was good! Looking forward to seeing how AoS2 impacts us going forwards. Genuinely felt a bit down looking at the state of Destruction at #SCGT2018. Very sad times.
  18. Looking forward to making my return to RAW after missing out on 2017. Works are underway on a suitably emo story for my Phoenix Temple to join the narrative... @Bishmeister - If grudges are a thing, consider yourself grudged! It's taken me two years to recover from the swift beating you gave me final round of RAW16!!
  19. @EMMachine - I like your ideas for other Phoenix Temple units. I will definitely be painting up some Aetherwings to go with the army just from an aesthetic point of view. I will be taking the army to #RAW18 if I get a ticket and am planning to convert my Aetherlab (a special model needed for the event) out of a Skycutter. In terms of another Phoenix....how about a lightning version? We've already got Moltres and Articuno, so why not add Zapdos!
  20. @EMMachine - I like your attitude with regards to the Aelves within the Mortal Realms as opposed to harking on about The World The Was (as much as I absolutely loved the WFB Elven lore). As you suggest, there are endless possibilities and plenty of fun stuff you can do with the smaller factions. I'll take a look at your Battletome another time and let you know what I think.
