  1. @brobdingguts wow, that might be the choppiest army I've ever seen!
  2. What are your (and others') thoughts on this in particular? My own tendency would be an A-Rok and a Boss for 380 points. Gives you some mortal wound output and a couple of semi-durable heroes, one of them a Wizard. What do other people think, either as an Ally detachment or in a mixed Destro army? Would you find room for 10x Spider Riders in Mixed Destro maybe?
  3. Looks really good! I think you're right, dual A-Roks has to be the way to go at 1000 points. Fungoid is awesome! I use him loads. I'd been playing with similar lists a while ago...I wasn't sure what to do with the last 100 points though. I was choosing between a Boss, or 20x Allied Grots for objectives. Are you happy with the 3x 5 Riders? The other one is the spells, with the low body count I was thinking of taking both board control spells (Gravetide and Palisades). Although having that mortal output outside of the combat phase is obviously useful. As a broader observation (and not that anyone asked!), I love playing events at different points levels over the course of the year. I think it's really healthy to have some 1k and 2500 point events in the calendar, because it keeps you thinking, keeps presenting different list building challenges, and different armies come to the fore. Playing at 1000 points last year was the main time I didn't feel like I was playing with one arm tied behind my back with Destruction.
  4. That's one more than the Bonesplitterz Battletome, which had only the Savage Big Boss in plastic.
  5. @svnvaldez could you do something with Grot wolves? The kits aren't amazing...but they are plastic.
  6. Just for fun...an army where literally everything can either deepstrike, or has the 6" pile in funtimes. What artefacts would you take?
  7. Interested to hear how this goes. What are the remainders of those lists please? For the second one, you couldn't fit in 1x 12 and 2x 3 Ogors? And re: the optimum unit size for Yhetees...do you find you can get all 9 into combat on those big bases with 1" range?
  8. I've found the Guardian's Coronet useful, if you are going to YOLO the Maw Krusha in particular. If you're taking the first turn, it can be good double-turn insurance.
  9. I don't think that's fair, the post on the Warhammer Community site was a clear hype piece. Promising that "it's going to be a big one", and inviting the community to "start speculating at just what will be unveiled". If people got hyped for it, that's because the official preview of the seminar explicitly invited them to do so. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2018/08/27/24th-aug-warhammer-community-at-the-nova-open-reveals-previews-and-top-table-actiongw-homepage-post-2/
  10. They all get it bud, it doesn't matter whether it's physically present on the model or not. It's just part of their warscroll. If you really wanted to you could glue a pistol onto their hip...but I wouldn't bother personally.
  11. I wonder if there's scope for a Yhetee - Bonegrinder combo? Maybe with a Skaal too... we will fight at a place and time of MY choosing!
  12. What ideas do people have for an Ogors list (combined Gubtusters and Beastclaw, Destruction allegiance with all Ogors Battleline)?
  13. Destruction didn't get many models - only Ironjawz had new models, and that was a relatively small release. The other releases (which were over 2 years ago now) were just books with no new models. So Bonesplitterz and Beastclaw are still rocking the Finecast. The really weird thing is the lack of GH Allegiance Abilities...Destruction have been almost entirely frozen out of that. Gutbusters and Moonclan players would love to be in the position Brayherds were in a year ago, never mind that they might get a book on top of that (same with Nighthaunt).
  14. I was surprised it came on an oval too, but it does fit on there nicely. Looks good on it.
  15. Top 10, awesome achievement! Well done that Tyrant!
  16. Couldn't agree with this more, I'd love to see a few books to update the older factions. If production capacity at the factory is a major bottleneck (as is rumoured), then putting out some Battletome-only releases could be the perfect solution.
  17. So if you were playing LON with a Bloodtoofs-style army... a) How would you all approach it? b) Is there any scope to stuff up their Gravesites with your Realmgate?
  18. Nothing to apologise for mate, and please never stop sharing what you've heard! Yeah I think it's quite plausible that they did the switch BECAUSE of the heavy rumours... when they have NOVA right next week it's an easy switch. We shall see!
  19. For sure, they owe us nothing. But I think it's relevant to the conversation that Horticulus is factually incorrect to say "they never said Moonclan today". They did literally say Moonclan today. "Don't blame them for being wrong about Moonclan today" - that I can agree with.
  20. He (or she) literally did say there would be a Grot reveal day.
  21. Khorne are generally a very bad matchup for Ironjawz. They punish you for having output in the Combat phase (Blood Warriors hitting you on the way down), they have a strong magic phase due to the Prayers and anti-magic, and in principle Ironjawz can't reach their heroes which are key. Allied Spear Chukkas are a great way to get around that. A battery of 3 comes in at 360 points, and should take off pretty much a Priest a turn between them. They combo nicely with the Maw Krusha because you can soften up a target and then smash it up with Destructive Bulk, hopefully triggering On Da Rampage. The crew are very vulneraable, but the best thing is he can't reach them himself in this matchup. You might already be aware of this, but one way to minimise their pile ins is to tag the edge of a big unit with some Gore Gruntas, and hit the other side with your damage unit. Another one to watch out for is to charge over the top into his nest of heroes. So if you can spread out and make him go first (Khorne can't generally hit you Turn 1), you can draw him into spreading out to challenge for objectives. (MSU Gore Gruntas again are essential). With the 12" hero phase move on your Maw Krusha you can be 3" away with your Mighty Destroyers move, then fly right over the top in the movement phase (remembering that Mighty Destroyers is no longer limited to 6"). You will generally need to be pretty cagey with your Maw Krusha I think. This is not the game to Yolo him unfortunately - you need to engineer a situation for him to clear house with his heroes as described above, or make him go first and use the MK for the counter punch. Honestly you will still need to play well and roll well to come out on top. They have a much better toolset to work with than us, with a full array of units to choose from (including chaff), Prayers, allies such as Slaves to Darkness that don't count as Allies and get keyword synergy, and so on. But those are some tools you do have that can rebalance things a little.
  22. It used to be specified in an FAQ that you could use Rampaging Destroyers to retreat, but could not then charge later in the turn if you did so (it was one of the earliest FAQs in fact). I don't think it's in there any more, because of the way Rampaging / Mighty Destroyers works now, but GW have overlooked that the Batallion move can still achieve the same thing. The unit has moved out of combat so they have retreated, I don't think that's really in question. I think where @Malakree makes a really interesting point is that the Allegiance Abilities say you can charge if you are within 12", which (arguably) overrides the core rule as per the cited FAQ. Charging in the Charge Phase would be a definite no-no, you have retreated. But charging with an Allegiance Ability that just says you can charge in the Hero Phase (no ifs, buts or maybes)? In a world where Allegiance Abilities trump core rules? I think you'd have a strong case personally. I think you are right though @Sangfroid, it's one for the FAQ team. And as an aside - hands up if you remember the first ever AOS FAQ, where it was bubbles of text on a painted background! ✋ ?
  23. Yep. @Tom Loyn has posted about his list here in the Destruction forum, you can read what he has to say at this link. Tom also went 5-0 at the 6 Nations (representing Wales with his dragons!) so this list is now 10-0 in competitive events :
