    Ok so here is a concept/WIP for a 'counts as' contorted epitome for my nurgle army! Idea is a fallen king, allured by excess of wealth, opulence, and gluttony has fallen so deeply delusional through vanity that he is a slave to the dark prince and his own lust for acceptance and fame. Think Fat B4st4rd from Austin Powers, meets slaanesh (I'm dead sexy! Look at mah titties!). He has also drawn the attention of the plague god as a symbol of stagnation and slow yet gradual degradation and filth. The pungent aromas also very intoxicating to those servants of nurgle who follow behind him! Open to comments and criticism on the concept, execution, and theme/lore! And the answer is yes. I cut and placed individually about 1,344,856 tiny coin sized pieces of greenstuff!!! Took forever! I am going to fix the palanquin's lean toward the front, build up the sides to make sort of like a box instead of a flat plank, and add another layer to make it appear a bit more dense/ thicker to support his girth and wealth!

    Exactly. Because the objective is a "bubble" or a circle around the center of the objective, and the unit outflanking is set-up in a line parallel to the board, the circle would only ever touch one model. The one at the apex of the circle. But in my case, this was top of turn one and allowed me to score two victory points, which was critical to winning the game. @Zplash I guess I was referencing an old FAQ. Here is the only thing I could find in the CORE RULES faq.. which still validates my point because it specifies equal to or less. (emphasis mine) DISTANCES Q: Sometimes a rule will specify that a model or unit needs to be ‘wholly within’ a certain distance. What exactly does ‘wholly within’ mean? A: A model is wholly within a certain distance if every part of its base is within the stated distance. A unit is wholly within a certain distance if every part of the bases of all of the models in the unit is within the stated distance. For example, a model would be wholly within 12" of the edge of the battlefield as long as every part of its base was 12" or less from the edge, while a unit would be wholly within 12" of the edge of the battlefield as long as every part of every base of the models from the unit were 12" or less from the edge. This needs to be specifically addressed by GW because it will cause some issues at events. I plan to alert EVERY TO to this situation before the event begins.

    Glottkin is godly in a horde list, or a list with a couple big units. In casual bloab is great. The spell is insane if combo’d right. Debuff is good but requires a screen.

    And to be clear, summoning specifies MORE THAN 9” away. So you just be 9.000000001” away. Being considered within a point on the battlefield you just be EQUAL TO OR LESS then specified distance. So if you and point are exactly 6” away...you are considered within. But I guess I’m a rules lawyer waac player 😅.......😞

    I will be posting WIP shots soon. Im still cobbling together a concept. Going to be using Gresus goldtooth model (fat ogre king with a turkey leg in one hand and mace in the other, whilst him and a large chest of gold and gems being ferried by a sea of knoblars) but he will be ferried by nurglings, on a palanquin, with the mirror from the bloodwrack shrine being propped up by more nurglings... with the reflection of a beautiful lithe blond haired handsome man in the mirror. Hopefully I can do it justice. Someone told me they wouldn't allow me to cap the objective because our tools to measure the situation are not precise enough to accurately measure that small level of interaction. I understand that but via the rules, I capture it. I got gang banged in my gaming group chat for suggesting I use math and rules to score an objective... so just looking to the outside to see if I could have a case.

    Well I took that list to a local RTT here in Virginia. I ended up going 3-0 and winning the event, as well as best painted single model for my converted/kitbashed warshrine. The epitome was great. The reliable spell casting was ..different LOL and nice to have. The only time it was ineffective was against Arkhan legion of sacrament list with arcane terrain. But in that game (relocation orb) just ran away from him, I bogged him down with blightkings and just summoned onto the objective wherever it landed. Secon game there was some controversy and I'd like your guys' opinions on this. It was against a Deathmarch. He had a big unit of black knights, 40 skeletons, 10 skeletons, 10 skeletons, 30 grave guard, coven throne, and some support characters. Mission was battle for the pass. I was shocked when he gave me first turn. So I ran my block of marauders onto my left objective. And had gutrot come in from the edge on the right objective. Here is the controversy. Spume and the kings must be within 6" of the board edge. The objective must be 12" from the board edge. Do I control that objective? There is an FAQ that says you are within a point on the battlefield if you are EQUAL to or LESS then the specified distance. So the TO sided with me when I showed him this and awarded me the objective, I ended up winning the game because of this. Several people told me I shouldn't have won, and I was being a WAAC player. And I wasn't playing to the spirit of the game essentially. My opponent (who is a close friend of mine) was really chill about the whole thing. It was everyone else around that were kind of being dicks. The 6" objective capturing bubble should mathematically touch one point on the base of the model that is at the apex of that bubble. Basically because both lines (spume and the objective bubble) meet at the same point, and the FAQ specifices EQUAL TO.. thoughts? Third game was against nighaunt (death riders battalion) on scorched earth. I played like ****** but still won on the back of blightkings just doing work. Anytime I got onto an objective I burned it and didn't try to be cute and hold as many as I could. Just get one it, burn it and move to the next one to try to play a morale game (morale of my opponent) and force some bad decisions or scrambling. To his credit he stayed cool and had a chance to win but I had GREAT rolls on the VP d3 rolls and him not so good or average. Three highlights: 10 blightkings with RR 1s (epitome) and RR all wounds (warshrine) charging in and wiping out an entire unit of 40 skeletons. 45 attacks from 9 kings with blades of putrefaction just obliterating 10 hexwraiths. Summoning a gnarlmaw, off my initial gnarlmaw, and then summoning 5 plaguebearers from the second gnarlmaw onto an objective and razing it for 3 VP.

    Im glad all the oldhammer guys with free people/empire armies think this way and stay out of large tournements. Because if they ever woke up to see they have one of the most potentially dominating armies in the game.. nobody would have a chance. Especially FEC, Slaanesh, and fyreslayers

    To be honest I only suggested the witherstave change and endless gift, because to be honest, I had assumed the brioche didn’t fit with your plan. Yeah WS is obvious choice for GUO. My thinking with festus and balewind is that I could think of anything better with 180 points left. In the reality that is realm spells, casts and denies are a must. Just hope the dice are on your side. Festus has 2 great spells (blades and curse). Or can cast realm spells. Tje epitome is amazing for 200 points. Double caster. Native spell is great (d3 units rr 1s against) and RR all casts and unbinds. The strike last mechanic is just gravy. The warshrine is there for a great RR all wounds prayer on blightkings and an extra 6++ on top of 5++ from harbinger.

    If thats the case, I Would use the Aetherquartz Brooch from Hysh to regain any command point used on a 5+. Perhaps the witherstave on the poxbringer (as he is relatively protected and not a priority target) and put the endless gift on the GUO. Just some thoughts. Way to go on the build and keep going! post lists and results here. I play almost entirely mortals. So Its nice to see some demon heavy builds.     I saw your post from before. You deserve a Kudos, because I will be honest, I wrote off the tallyband as expensive garbage. d3 plaguebearers a turn is literally nothing in the end. cp = 50 points. Lets just say the artefact is "worth" 50 points. average 2 plaguebearers a turn x say 3 units x 4 turns (which rarely happens in a tournament game anyway) and that's assuming none of the squads get wiped over the course of the game. That's about 24 plaguebearers which is 240 points. vs the cost of the battalion at 120 points.. In all likelihood its actually a net negative to take the battalion. So in all likelihood you are an extremely talented player. God help us all if you ever choose a competitive faction

    Legions of Nagash with Overwhelming dread (sometimes cast twice if the roll is unmodified 9+), Legion of blood, especially with neferatta, SCE have prayers that are -1 to hit and RR 6s to hit, also any unit that drops from the sky is -1 to hit them, Gloomspite Gitz netters and the Arachnarok spell "itchy nuiscance" which is a 12" bubble of -1 to hit from the giant 160mm base of the spider, ANY caster with those ****** geminids. The ever present gryph feather charm.

    As @hughwyeth eluded to I have moderate success with mortal heavy lists. I typically run between 20-30 blightkings, with harbinger and warshrine for ward saves. Sometimes with blight cyst. Sometimes without. Lately I have been ally in the contored eptiome or 30 bestigors and a bray Shaman (with the wildfire taurus). Another local nurgle player has had success with the thricefold befoulment list and a litany of endless spells. Problem with that id your TZ will easily out magic even three GUOs. So will Gloomspite. So will Slaanesh (RR successful casts and RR all unbinds), So will Nagash, so will khorne...

    Competitively speaking, horticulous and beasts are unplayable. Competitively speaking, a summoning build is unplayable. There are novelty artefacts and abilities to add contagion points, but in reality it doesn't add up to much when it takes 2 turns to muster the points needed to summon one nurgling base or 5 plaguebearers.

    Heheh! It’s quite clever if I do say so myself. It involves using the old greasus goldtooth ogre king model, as a corpulent/excess of wealth/gluttonous fatty who lounges on a pile of gold (using the “dragons horde” piles of gold from terrain crate) like Scrooge mcduck on a palanquin being ferried by a host of nurglings (the OLD OLD nurglings) instead of the knoblars. The best part is I’m going to use the huge mirror from the Daighters of Khaine bloodwrack shrine to represent the contorted epitome mirror. More nurglings propping it up, with greasus reflection being a lithe, beautiful, blond haired handsome man. Trying to hit the middle of a nurgle/Slaanesh venn diagram of excess, gluttony, gross nurgle fat man. Pictures for reference. The massive turkey leg is just to good as well 🤣

    There is only ONE way to even have a chance at mitigating spell casting and its ally in the Contorted Epitome for 2 ReRollable unbinds. And thats literally it.. unless Im missing another unbind ally, or dispel scroll ally. Nothing in the Nurgle battletome can stop magic, unless your unbind dice are HOT.

    Agreed on all fronts. Keep in mind the Harbinger will activate thier Locus as well.. as he has the demon keyword! I think a low lkey buff to them would to make them 100/1 instead of 200/2 so that way you could take 3 of them. I feel like 2 is not enough and 4 is a big points sink. I think I would enjoy taking 3.. And that way if you buy two box of them you you could build 3 and a LOA.

    Points was never the issue with them, for me at least. It was because they cant cap objectives, or do enough damage to come in sweep a unit to take it.. usually. They have decent rend but low attacks with 4+ to hit.. and then attacks equal to 2 blight kings. They tank a butt load of damage though. Especially with harbinger support. Drones are the hammer because there are more of them per points, and more attack profiles ot buff via glott or GUO. And they have a shooting attack.. which also triggers blades of putrefaction btw. So for 200 points, I would almost always rather take 40 maruaders... who also make an amazing target for blades.. because of easy +1 to hit

    Pick one big guy and build around them.. but not both. Glott favors horde units and units with many attack profiles (drones). GUO is just an all around get support piece and caster. Can also carry the witherstave on a huge base. Harbinger only buffs mortals, so if you include him, youll need a substantial amount of blightkings in order to beenfit from the constant command point drain. Also if you bring in gutrot, the kings that outflank with him are almost always going to be outside of his command range. So keep that in mind when building lists. Finished up my Wildfire Taurus this weekend. Went with a "wall street bull" theme. (Working class always strikes last HAH) Going back and forth in list building between including 30 bestigors, Shaman and the Taurus as an ally contigent... or the contorted epitome, blight cyst and the required LoB. I like the merits of both but cant decide what to roll with. Im also about $70 in to an EPIC Contorted eptiome conversion that I will post WIP shots soon.

Keep in mind I do post about models and warhammer, but also trees and native plants to the Washington DC area, as I am an arborist and naturalist by profession. @Ratcliff Holy smokes dude. To get that high up with tallyband build is impressive! Can you explain your strategy!? I assume the lob was hurling flies at the plaguebearers. The guo played support and hoppon on hero objectives. The plaguebearers camped objectives and tarpitted. Monks did their thing. I havent had much success with monks in a nurgle list. I'm also terrified of using geminids and having them come back on me... then again I play blightkings.

    @GuitaRasmus dude....those conversions are sick!!!! Well don’t man. Damn. LOVE the scheme on the GUO. Is that branch attached attached to the base or the model?
