I even build my own Slaanesh chaos warriors because I loved the Slaanesh mortal heroes. but dropped out because After that, there isn’t much more. mow I get beautiful models but almost more importantly I get rules that fit the lore. Regardless of if their good or not that gets me back into the faction. because daemons and mortals are not the same, I assume. Just like it’s very different to play kairic acolytes, horrors or tzaangor. Or reavers vs blood letters. Or blight warriors vs plaguebearers. and good of you not to complain. But you would be happy if they released new models and spiced up the gameplay. Maybe fire lizard cavalry

Happy with my test model so now i'm working on the rest of the start collecting. After which I will get the 2 shark and a king box. Which makes it a nice round 980 pts for small games. What would you recommend to add afterwards? Need to send the Christmas list to santa on time this year The army will be mostly played by my girlfriend so one Turtle is a must. And Lothan pretty much as well. She's a clever player so little intricate things will most likely be for her. Don't mind adding eels although they are her least favourite fish models in the range. Any fun combo's I need to look at?

The chaos one apparently has command traits but no one to take them, and there seem to be more weird things. so it feels like it was kinda rushed/not playtested. Which could be an effect of COVID if the leadtime is less than 9 months. So I’m guessing oversights rather than on purpose and therefore changes. that’s better than making them count as moved. But 9” is still a 18” bubble. Surely you can put more than 23 models in there? im just happy that while the battalion. Works for sequitors as well, the liberator +1 save thing is not REDEEMER keyworded 😂

Yeah true. The biggest defence against that tactic though is that one: I don’t know anybody who is willing to go to that length. So not going to encounter it until tournament time perhaps And two I expect GW to nerf this tactic before a vaccin is distributed... although that’s not a save bet with GW 😂

Well 30 liberators on 2+ save rerolling ones, teleporting before the game starts in front of you is a very good defence as well, but I get your point I think the tankiest we get is drakespawn knights with mystic shield. Hopefully in cover. but that’s hardly points efficient.

Okay completely different direction. Started with the ‘musts’ just because I think the models are cool and I want to play them. (Black dragon, witch elf, cauldron, executioners.) then started thinking about making them work. I ended up with this. Still missing an anvil style unit and anything movement shananigy New list (with thanks to @MetaphoricDragon) would be: Hag Queen on Cauldron (Incitement to Murder and Null Stone Vizard) Sorceress on Black Dragon (The Withering) Sorceress (General, Vitrolic Spray, Traitor's Banner, Murderous Zeal) 30 Witch Elves (two blades) 40 Darkshards 20 Dread Spears 2x10 Executioners Balewind Vortex Basic idea is that the dark shard are super solid. So their coming along in numbers. The dragon combos nicely in the battalion. Dreadspears for screens, stabs and throwaway. (Although at a pinch 21 3+ 4+ attacks with an option for 20 more and exploding 6’s and on of them at-1 rend, ain’t bad) executions still the only source for mortals and I just love my old metal ones. Witch combo just blends. a guest on the honest wargamer talked about how the balewind actually adds an extra 3 or 4 inches on the turn it’s set ups. Which makes vitriolic spray an option for me. So I’m willing to give that a go. got three threats. A little bit of mobility due to the dragon and screen and most of my favourite dark elf models 😅. Thoughts? Especially if I missed something.

Excellent point. Although I will say that regardless of relative power. Few will change their playstyle. might not be the most effective anymore. But can’t think of an example where it’s not possible anymore.

Daughters of khaine? Especially in the temple that lets you teleport. but you have two great infantry options. Sisters of slaughter and witch elves. They will absolutely run through the opponents army but do need the support of the slaughter queens and especially the hag queen (both likely on their altar.) trickyness due to all the synergies z the kinerai (harpies) that can start off the table and get a cheeky extra move when they shoot, the teleport temple (also gives defence vs shooting). some added advantages imo: - amazing model line. Every thing from the infantry to the heroes. - amazing centrepiece model in Morathi. which is actually useful in game. - Just updated rules. But they have been good since their release. Regardless of changes in ‘meta’. They remained strong. So super solid and not reliant on that one trick that gets nerfed. - if you want you can also take the snakes as infantry block. The elf models are just a bit more efficient as they have more models to hold objectives. But snakes are good and they can take the same buffs so you can do one of both. - I love armies with synergies and are a bit glass cannon. You can make them very survivable as well if you prefer that - they are front and centre in the narrative. begatives. - Quite pricey. - rules are a bit scattered at the moment. You have the book, but in the last two weeks several scrolls and points in that book have been changed in the shadow and pain box and the wrath of Morathi book. Most of that will be available in the free app though. At some point. So it’s not the worst. But a bit annoying if you start something new. hope this helps.

I don’t have the snakes yet. But the bows will not do enough I feel. And the new blood sisters ability is very tricky as it’s after the retaliation. Yeah yeah. Rub it in why don’t you for some reason I only thought about the endless spell thing. Dont know why I didn’t realise the rest was gone as well. Yeah a lot of point to play around with now. The chariots do seem cool. But require me to add something to My collection. So I’m not keen on that yet. some spears for the sacrifices is a very solid idea. Don’t know if I want to go full on magic but there is some fun stuff to do with that.

That’s a big help points wise but such a shame 😂 i wanted my old reaper bolt throwers in there. but the points will go to more bodies then. I’ll mull the rest over. All sounds very solid. But don’t know how to input it into my list

This city finally has me excited to rebase my old dark elves and maybe even expand my 1K of DoK. trying to make the most of the prayer and the models I like best I ended up with these two lists. I struggle with two things. So help an elfy brother out one is MW outpUt. Love my executioner models. But they aren’t as good as I need them to be to fill this hole. second is objective play. Nothing is really holding its own in that regard. I like the Corsair + prayer + fleet master combo. Same for the dark shards. but maybe I need to drop one for some screens/anvils. But what would function like that?

Haha that picture does make me (re)realise how much of a sulky teen race the elves of the old world are and how their leaders took those traits with them. The little POV story from Morathi in the Gullet of Slaanesh. Sees souls she runs into, and makes the point she’s so over them. Only to run into her first love and falling at the finish line. But then still coming with a ‘I’m a strong independent women’ entrance from the cauldron into the midst of a battle. Only to gossip the other elf king into joining the cool girls. all because People don’t show her the respect she feels she deserves.

So my days of avoiding podcasts, Facebook and this forum (bar the painting sub forum) are over. im gonna put my money on the mysterious leather winged saviour to be a drakothian ulgu elf from Malarion. messing up mama’s plans like usual. (Might remain a hidden antagonist through the whole series and only to be revealed in the last book with a army release into aos 3) side question. What was the name again of the elf she loved. The old Phoenix king, dad to spoiled little Malekith? because that’s the soul she hesitated on right? First I thought of Tyrion but that makes no sense.

Yes! I’m back in this 💪 after five months of the ‘tale of X warlords’ and only painting stormcast. I’m one model away from finishing a 2K army. so I’m looking forward to the next painting projects. next up a deepkin Warcry warband. Or as my girlfriend calls it ‘my army or else I don’t play, you know the one with the fishes.’ so this month I pledge: 4 reavers, 4 thralls, 2 eels and a soulrender. 4 reavers already built. 5 paints bought. She’ll give me the start collecting on Sunday. Can’t wait.

AoS is starting to getting me ready To convince my girfriend to shave (one) side of her head. but honestly it’s the old Slaanesh range for me. They oozed confidence and the new sculpts seem to be going that way again. Instead of monstrous. (just realised, Juan Diaz is the only name of a sculptor I know. That’s how defining those daemonettes were) (still looking for this one sadly)
