  1. Don't know if anybody else posted this, but The Honest Wargamer also talked about how the starter would be Brettonia and Tomb Kings. He also said he was gonna check to see if they would all be new models or if they would have some old ones in the box as well. Makes a lot more sense then the Human and Orcs rumors, but either way hope we will see it at the next event.
  2. I would find it pretty funny that they have been throwing nonstop articles about Tomb Kings and Bretonnia, BUT those two factions would not even be in the first 4 releases. Like they would even releases a brand new faction before them lol. Went back and checked the other leaker (Valrak) to refresh my memory. He says the first four being play tested were Tomb Kings vs Bretonnia, Dwarfs, and Vampires.
  3. How dare you good sir!!!! How could you not want to buy a T-shirt cannon with a belt feeder going......... somewhere!?!?!?!? Make me appreciate how good all the other recent releases we got in Sigmar look (those Stormcast leaks look amazing!!!)................ Of course it would be nice to have a large enough range to just say no to a few units.....
  4. As a player who got into Sigmar first then 40k the contrast between the two games is pretty extreme. I got my little Xeno (Tau) faction and just accept whatever scraps I get. The warnings and jokes you see on the internet are true!!! Not sure how a person who collects Space Marines could handle getting a new model almost every other announcement. Or how they keep selling so well while so many factions across both have have little to nothing? I know AoS has it issues, but it feels a lot better overall with all factions getting some love.
  5. When I quit the FFG/AMG games they had 2 of their games that had rules that one mistake would cost the game. And the third game they were attempting to make everything die faster to quicken up the game. So that mindset is in a few places. Overall I found that the GW games were slightly better overall, but both had their pros and cons. 9ed had a lot of issues but the concept of their strength/toughness I love. Makes me exited for 10ed since it look like it kept that concept, but just stole everything else from AoS lol. Would love a way to toughen up the Sigmar units as well.
  6. Like they said a few times their aim was for a quickly assembled and heavily armored look thrown in with a lot of skulls because of all the death. I like the look, but do think it is a bit safe/generic for a setting that has so much advance teck and crazy setting. Honestly I also find them to look too much like a Bretonnia or other Old World faction.
  7. Makes me wish we knew how each faction sold and how popular they are with the community. Same with 40k and human factions. Does GW make more of what sells the best? Or does GW think only certain things sell and just keep on throwing those things at us which limits options. Know this topic popped up when a leaker said they started to cut out certain AoS books, but it is such a interesting topic.
  8. Atomic Mass Games is doing a good test run with Star Wars Legion and Shatterpoint. Two different game using the same or very close models, but can't be used in both games. The reaction has not been great so far lol, but we shall see what it does to both those games. I'm in the club that GW selling large square bases as well as including rules for older models would be a win-win for GW, the games, and both new and older players......................................... so it is pretty clear that GW will never do it and go the greedy route lol.
  9. Dawnbringer is just the name of the event going on. The faction will be still be called Cities of Sigmar. As for what is staying and what is going I still think GW should at least be upfront about the future of the faction and if they do plan to slowly phase out everthing.
  10. Sort of annoyed that all the people that warned us that Cities was a placeholder army will turn out to be right in the end..... On the bright side I guess we will still have years before dispossessed and Dark elves get touched lol?
  11. This is probably the correct choice, but maybe I'm being too much of a pessimist on the future of Cities. With everyone so sure of Malerion can't see them lasting too long in the faction.
  12. I would love to think the new kits will come with a lot of extra pieces that can be easily kit bashed on the older stuff. Would help with the thrown together look they are going for. With only one or two of the larger units being unusable. I have reached the acceptance phase lol
  13. In the same boat right now. I figure as long as they commit to Cities being a a muti race force then using proxies will be fine. Having elves mixed in with other spear men will look cooler anyway on the table. A lot of Cities players will be doing a lot of self reflection on the coming months. I least am lucky that I DM for my friend group and use everything in Cities lol.
  14. OK so if we go by the new leaks we got and just assume all human stuff gone we got: Being cut: 34 Wanderer- 6 Freeguild- 9 Ironweld Arsenal- 7 Collegiate Arcane- 6 Phoneix Temple- 6 Staying: 24 Darling Coven- 7 Dispossessed- 6 Shadowblades- 3 Pirates- 4 Order Serpentis- 4
  15. My worse fears came true...................... I love the look, but still don't know what non human stuff will be removed. Life is pain!!!!!
  16. Oh boy time for everybody's favorite pastime!!!! What does one of these five reacts means!!! Honestly, I enjoy this way more then I should lol. I have personally spent countless hours looking a a sad face or a laugh trying to figure out what was in store for my dwarfs and elves in Cities lol!!
  17. So if we are getting Cities announced Wednesday then I guess that is the summer release? Feels weird for lizard players that they get all these reveals, but won't get anything for so long. Especially, since 10th ed. is right around the corner.
  18. I could see the two games coexisting and supporting each other. Sigmar being a quicker/simpler game and Old World being slower/tactical. Some factions will work better then others, but I can see a of units working for both games. GW could even sell those large square bases that hold all the circle ones to players! If you want to see two games cannibalize themselves look at AMG with Star Wars Legion and Shatterpoint. Two games that use the exact same models, BUT are different sizes so that there can be no cross play...............
  19. Lol Valrak exact words were "I do not give a ****** about Age of Sigmar, they will announce the Cities of Sigmar box set. I know that for a fact so lets move on to other stuff" lol. He also said he knew nothing about Underworld. Reminds me of all the leakers a while ago saying Summer. Should be interesting either way. Also Valrak heard that The Old World will be end of this year, BUT he finds that really hard to believe.
  20. So they will do something this weekend. My bro loves his death factions and I love my Tau so maybe everyone will be doing good Saturday.
  21. Most likely yes. Usually every game gets some love at these events. Just rumors/leaks have been few and far between and 40k has a lot clearer road map on their way to 10ed................. Also only play Tau in 40k so been keeping a keen eye on when I get my new model lol.
  22. Top rumor is the new Farsight and new Orc for 40k.
  23. Lumineth is my favorite faction and they often feel way too dependent on ward saves or mortal wounds with Protection/Power of Hysh. Sort of sucks that you can guess how the turn will go based off of getting a spell off................... and you be surprised how many times they stop rolls of 9 and 10 lol.
  24. The control they tried to bring to Dungeon and Dragons was insane. Pathfinder was screwed. My group was scared that any good idea we came up with WoTC would bust in and claim copyright lol.
  25. Once again i mostly play against death factions and have lost count the number of times I have went against 120 zombies. Their extra long pile in, how easy it is to control objectives, bringing back zombies, and how hard they are to fully kill are fine and thematic. On the other hand, the mortal wounds I still find too much and just allows a tar pit unit to punch way over its pay grade. Just feels that it removes some tactical elements from the game and it is not like the game is not deadly enough already.
