  1. Them and the Black Knights/Hexwraiths, I think.
  2. Probably too late to throw something new into the ring... and it might not be a popular suggestion... but has an 'off-topic' section been considered? For blabbing about movies, music, telly, that kind of thing. I'm still a bit of a newbie here, I guess, but so far I've found the posters on here to be a thoroughly pleasant bunch, and I wouldn't mind discussing matters not directly pertaining to Symbaresh Twinsouls with them!
  3. When I first saw the model it took me a few seconds to realise I wasn't looking at it from the rear. Weird how we get so used to focusing in on the face of a miniature.
  4. That's what I thought too. I quite like a lot of the Lumineth models (considering my usual disdain for all things preachy-pansy-goody-goody), but these lot look... awkward. Something about the trousers....?
  5. So there's an overall feeling that the game has become too complex? I got into Age of Sigmar with a passion pretty much as soon as it came out just because it was simple (I'd been out of Warhammer entirely for quite a few years before that). Contrast that with now, where I'm glancing rather longingly at The Old World! If I wasn't so infatuated with all my newer Slaaneshi toys, I'd be re-basing my collection as we speak. Well, type. I like a visceral game. And I like something flavoursome. I have a Slaanesh army because I love the ethos and character of Slaanesh. I couldn't give a tiddily-tit about what's going to win me games... I want to shove my favourite models around in a way that would make The Dark Prince proud! Unlike many of my contemporaries, I never really got into Magic the Gathering because I found it too... calculating, for want of a better word. Too much mathematics, too much logistics, too much detail. I call it 'clutter'. I feel like AoS is headed in that direction. A cluttered-up game. I don't much care for it. Incidentally, I'm rubbish at Monopoly! I'm sincerely hoping that the Powers That Be have got an inkling that players, overall, are not in favour of the clutter, and that they do something to streamline the game.
  6. I like them even more now! I'm hugely in favour of mad little detailing like that. I've used some old metal Chaos Familiars in a similar way.... just making bases more characterful.
  7. Fimir! I'd completely forgotten that Forgeworld had done them. Smashing ol' beasties, those. And as for that Greater Daemon of Slaanesh... grrr! I'd always had a mental road-map that I'd get that model as a reward to myself when I'd collected and painted the first phase of my Slaanesh host (which was a BIG load of miniatures.) Now that I'm at that point, the damn thing is gone. Well, as good as gone... I ain't forking out Ebay prices for it. Did they even do a "last chance to buy" on stuff like that? If they did, I comprehensively missed it!
  8. I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking at... but I damn well like them, regardless!
  9. Oh, the way those big-head Bloodletters look in the Warhammer Quest: The End Times game.. it's absurd.
  10. All my Slaanesh boys and girls (and everyone in between...or neither...) would be all over like this like a nasty purple rash.
  11. Agreed with aplomb. I mean, I dont want them to go mad with it, lone chappies on foot casually hacking their way through everything in their path should be the sole province of unique heroes whose background entitles them to do so (like Sigvald, to use an example from my own team). But, come on, give Chaos Lords and their ilk a bit more chutzpah! They need to find the balance.
  12. I noticed that, and thought it was damn odd! Why even reference the original sculptor if you're not going to use their full name? Pure silliness. You'd think they were working in a call centre or something!
  13. I'm glad that they're putting a fair amount of effort into the 'remastering' of older models. They could easily have been slap-dash about it, and just written any flaws off with a "they're old models, what do you expect?" And the big ol' bone giant now has a choice of two swanky pieces of headgear?! Bosh!
  14. If I was religious, I'd give this a hearty "amen". Battle Tactics have been a major fly in my ointment ever since they reared their ugly head. I'd love to see them shoved off entirely. Or, if we must endure them, at least drop the Once Per Battle stipulation. I find that by the third turn onwards I'm just trying to pick the ones that aren't going to hold up the game any further. Grand Strategies I don't mind so much, probably because they're not changing all the time.
  15. Absolutely! And me too. It was the loony stuff that first attracted me to the hobby. Mad things like (old metal versions of) the Doomwheel and the steam tank and Arkhan the Black's weird chariot thing... I was obsessed with them. I'm glad that strong sense of the bizarre is still around!
  16. I'm not sure that the Marienburg Land Ship makes sense in any world. It's a mad bit of nonsense. I love it.
  17. Ditto. But there wasn't even a 'last chance to buy' or anything... it all just vanished. Bah.
  18. Ohhh, now you're talking! That'd be glorious. There's so much new stuff they could explore, now that they've fleshed out the individual Chaos factions so much. I love the Liber Chaoticas, I still often refer back to the Slaanesh volume for a quick injection of dark and twisted inspiration!
  19. I just noticed the snotlings in that photo. Those models are properly ancient! Waaaay older than anything else that's still around. Amazing.
  20. Maybe the remaining Finecast models will be replaced...? There ain't a lot of them left. I'd love a plastic Viceleader... something a bit fancy!
  21. Fair call. I confess I'm fairly ignorant about the greater impact of the Warhammer universe, such as video games and the like.
  22. Awesome work!... the colours you've used really do the models justice. I tip my hat at you!
  23. I wholeheartedly agree... but is there really as much profit to be made in exploring the background as there is in the models? I can't see there being so much clamour to buy a dedicated book of lore compared to a really swish new miniature. I might be wrong. In fact, I'd love to be wrong.
  24. Don't worry, eventually the allure of Slaanesh will be too strong for you to resist! Glutos is a glorious character, probably my favourite model in the current range. Welcome, welcome!
