  1. Hooray with big shiny bells on! Sounds brilliant.
  2. That's one of the most insipid titles they've ever come up with. "Damp pile of rocks."
  3. Smashing! They look the business. I've just got two Slaangor Fiendbloods to paint up before I'm Spearhead-ready. I think I can achieve that before the game lands!
  4. I'm assuming that Faction Terrain and Endless Spells aren't used in Spearhead mode. So even less models that you need to turn up with. I'm liking the sound of a game that you can fit everything you require, models wise, into a smallish carry case. To get a game, I typically have to travel a fair distance via public transport, so not hauling loads of toys around suits me perfectly! The shortened time required for a game is also a bonus. Plus I'm rubbish at remembering all the rules! I'll be able to get my head around the streamlined style of Spearhead a lot quicker, I'd wager. Bring it on.
  5. I was wondering if there'll be multiple Spearheads for the same faction. I like the contents of the Hedonites one, but it is exclusively the mortals... it'd be fun if there was a Slaanesh Daemons one, too.
  6. Urgh... cards. I don't like cards. I always lose the damn things. I'm allergic to Magic the Gathering. Nevertheless... I do like most of what I'm hearing about Spearhead thus far. Out of interest, how do they usually make cards like these available? Do you need to buy a big box to get them?
  7. OK.... let's see what I've got on my painting table for this month... 1) Glutos. So far I've only finished the wheels and Painbringer Kyazu. This month I aim to finish Lashmaster Vhyssk, the Gourmalice, and get some decent work done on the chassis (for want of a better word!) 2) I've started painting Lascivyr from the Thricefold Discord. It seems like a simple model to paint. I'll put that down as my secondary target for the month. 3) If I get stumped with these two tasks, then I've got a 'fun' model to fall back on. It's this guy... I think he's from Mordheim originally? Regardless, his aesthetic suits my collection perfectly, and I think he'll be a pleasurable model to paint.
  8. I'm rather liking the cut of Spearhead's jib. Especially because I've nearly got enough models in my collection to play either Hedonites or Slaves or Beasts! Having a pre-set army list is a little bit stiff... but I think I can live with it.
  9. That's what I would have assumed... but then there was talk in this thread about having to spend money on multiple themed boxes to get the good Endless Spells.
  10. That's what I was thinking. I have been using my faction's Endless Spells on a semi-regular basis (because I often seem to have the points spare... and because I like the models!) but it's not often that they're entirely worth it. It seems like now they'll be able to be just clobbered if all else fails.
  11. Has it been confirmed that the old Malign Sorceries models are going to be repackaged into smaller Lore sets? That's kinda groovy if so... I've always fancied one or two of the models, but have been reluctant to splash out on the whole set.
  12. I find myself wondering if generic terrain will be attackable in the same way as Faction Terrain.
  13. Not sure I like the idea of Endless Spells being fightable. "Oh look, there's a giant magical hand holding a magical mirror coming towards us. But don't worry, we can hit it with a club and kill it!"
  14. Even though I'm quite happy with the current Slaanesh Daemon models, I'd love to see what a glow-up could bring. More dynamic poses, for one thing.
  15. Yes... that sort of thing is a bit aggravating. All the Slaanesh models' bases that have the sculpted sand dune texture on them peeve me slightly... all needs covering up. It also makes me wonder how people who do want the sand dune texture cope with having to sculpt their own on all the other bases (assuming they're having matching bases for their army). That's gotta be a lot of fiddly effort.
  16. I think I've expressed this view before on here, but I'd love to see rules and lore split up. Rules are all available to download (free would be nice, but realistically I'd guess at a cost is more viable). These are updated regularly. Hell, if there's still a demand for actual paper publication of rules, do it as simple pamphlet-like things. The lore would be published in big, beautiful coffee-table style books. With lots of art. With a hefty price tag. These don't need to be updated much as such, just new volumes released. I'm not sure if that counts as ONE thing, but it's what I'd do if I ruled the world!
  17. If it's done with style, then I'm all for it. Sometimes it isn't done with style. Sometimes it's a slavish way of making an otherwise fairly ordinary model a bit more impressive (or just to fill out a bigger base size... ref: Lord of Hubris).
  18. Now there's some sexy talk! My Keeper is my pride and joy. My favourite miniature that I've ever painted. I need it to be a killer!
  19. Painting can be very therapeutic. Without wanting to talk about my problems too much, I have to say that one of the reasons I got back into Warhammer after a long time away from it was because I have mental health problems and I was encouraged to have a hobby. It does help a lot. And you're so right, you are creating something beautiful! I know I'm nowhere near being the best painter around, but I paint my models to the best of my abilities, and that makes me happy.
  20. Here's a bit of a confession.... if I'm not happy with the paint job on a miniature, I sell it on eBay and have another crack at it. I actually had two previous attempts at the Contorted Epitome before I settled on my current one. I can't be the only one who does that!
  21. Oh, I gave up trying to remember even a fraction of all the Battle Tactics a long time ago! Just remembering the ones available to me is challenging enough to my poor memory.
  22. I very much want my cake and to eat it too when it comes to Battle Tactics. They peeve me greatly when an opponent effortlessly pulls them off, and when they run completely counter-intuitively to the way the battle is going. I've often thought that the game would be better off without them. ... but then they do make me think. I'm lazy when it comes to formulating a battle plan, and would easily fall into the trap of playing games the same way every time. I guess Battle Tactics circumvent that, to a greater or lesser extent.
