  1. Would love it to be genuine, but it seems a bit fanciful. Would definitely see the endless spells getting used a lot more.
  2. I can remember at one point in the past the Doomwheel got dropped from the range for being too silly (and the army book author responsible said as much in White Dwarf). Thank gods that a few editions later it got reinstated, and with a corking-good model!
  3. I think it looks great! Very vibrant. The smoke/incense/whatever effect is particularly good.
  4. Once upon a time Wood Elves had chariots too...
  5. They look thoroughly repulsive. And I mean that as a compliment!
  6. I know I'd definitely make a goodly number of purchases if they did some funky new Beasts kits... and that's just to include as coalitioners in my Slaanesh army! I'd be all over new Chariots and Centigors like a rash.
  7. With some sadness, I'm inclined to agree with that. I've never even seen a Beasts army in the flesh... I think they're the only faction that I've never played against.
  8. Precisely. They've got proper one-on-one beef. Perfect to bring back!
  9. Might not have a lot of time to dedicate to painting this month, and need to paint something simple after the fiddliness of my Slickblades. So, here we go.... five Daemonettes and one Seeker. I've already done a bit of preliminary work of them, and I've got my techniques for painting them down pat, so it's an attainable goal! If I finish these six models, then I'll start work on either Glutos or Synessa. Both of them big projects, but ones that I'm eager to lay down a few early brushstrokes on.
  10. Oh, a resounding 'ditto' to that! I know there's no use moping about it now, but I really wish I hadn't sold off as much as I did. My Bretonnian army was beautiful, and full of unique conversions and rare models. I got a pretty penny for it... but where's that money now? Really regret that, especially now that Bretonnia has risen again. My current collection of Slaanesh models ain't going nowhere. I've sold off individual chunks (usually bits that I've painted to an acceptable standard, but want to have another go at) but the heart of army itself I'll take to my grave!
  11. I made it! My Slickblades are complete! Incredibly intricate models, they've taken me forever to paint up. I've gotta say, as a first-time participant, this is a great idea, this Painting Contract thing. It focused my attention wonderfully. So... cheers!
  12. They're dreadfully old models too, and rather uninspiring.
  13. As an aside, I rather gave up hope that the Chaos Marauders were ever going to be redesigned, and bought a bunch of them a while back. They're not altogether dreadful if you find a suitable replacement for the absurd cartoonish heads! I used Chaos Warrior heads, and am quite happy with how they look. They remind me of the old metal Marauders, will the all-enclosing helmets. The Marauder Horsemen are still... acceptable. The heads are good, and I like the style of their horses. But, yes, they're both surely prime contenders to get a new kit. Surely. Unless they're being abandoned altogether.
  14. My plans for the future mainly depend upon how big The Old World proves to be in my neck of the woods. I've got plenty of my (enormous) current project to paint up... while waiting for the longer-term popularity of this square-base game to make itself known. If TOW is a hit, then I'm planning on joining in the fun, either with a Warriors of Chaos army (cannibalising and re-basing some of my existing models) or a Orc & Goblin Tribe, or a Vampire Counts army. Ive got a cluster of geriatric metal Vampires, Necromancers, Wights and the like, I've been hanging on to them for ages now. It'd be lovely to finally get them used. If TOW doesn't catch on, then I'll look at starting a Gloomspite or Soulblight collection. A few of the aforementioned metal Undead bits could find a home here, if things swing in that direction.
  15. Those concepts are freaking brilliant. They remind me somewhat of Quentin Blake's illustrations for Roald Dahl books!
  16. "Enough"? What a strange concept. I have over 7000 points worth of models for my army, and feel no urge to stop yet. Highly appropriate, I guess, for a force dedicated to the God of Excess!
  17. In my book, anyone who has painted up multiple units of Blissbarb Archers is perfectly entitled to use as many of them as they desire, because the damn things are fiddly as hell to paint! Plus there's no justification, from a background point of view, to limit the number of Blissbarbs; they're meant to be the lowest rank of Sybarite, not particularly experienced in battle, and largely used as arrow fodder.
  18. I'd have called an army composed exclusively of Gargants to be pretty 'wacky'. Players who compose ultra-competitive army lists are always going to be a bit tiresome. I like that Age of Sigmar can have madness like an army that's entirely Steam Tanks or whatever.
  19. A slice of truth, right there. My army features 9 Seekers, because one got trodden on (don't ask). I just know that one day I'll buy another 5... but then I'll have 14, so where to then? Oh, the drama.
  20. Hah... down here in Australia it's oftentimes more of a case of waiting while for the weather to get cool enough to use spray primer!
  21. I've formed the habit of doing a little bit every day. Sometimes it's only 20 minutes worth, sometimes it might be a few hours. Over the last 5 years I've managed to paint (at an estimate) over 120 models for my army, just from doing my daily session.
  22. Why were the standardised unit sizes needed? I just asking out of curiosity.
  23. Nice to know that Skaven players never change.
