  1. Can we stop the space marine whining? This is not even a message board about a game they are in.
  2. They're fine, but they lack variety. Except the Magmadroth they look like they all could be in the same unit. I don't know. Give them some shooty unit with some magma shooty axes.
  3. Mostly hits. I think it helps to remind yourself that they are not high elves. Like Venician during the Renaissance were not from the Roman Empire who were not Antic Greeks. The stonemage is dope. Really don't care about the Stoneguard or the mountain giants, they never grew on me. Teclis didn't click when introduced. Seeing him from other angles and real life he is actually an extremely impressive sculpt. He is one of those model that reminds you that you are not actually supposed to look at a model on picture taken at eye level but 45° degree top down on a table. I don't collect, cause I can't buy every cool new armies.
  4. I guess he was going to be a Con exclusive item.
  5. There has been a huge delay between the reveal (January) and the initial release (June) of the LRL. If covid didn't happen and we got a release in April, the hype would have sell a lot more boxes. The news about Lumineth completely died for several months and people were then planning to buy the new edition of 40k. Hard to believe, but some disruptive incidents happened last year.
  6. I am not well versed in the lore of the LRL, but isn't the point is everything is symmetric, fractal and a reflection? One realm, with twin gods ruling over ten symmetric kingdom, each have their four elements balanced, within them moon and sun are represented. Somewhere one side can be more prominent, but will be balanced elsewhere and it never last long. Things are so intertwined, Moon/Sun and Mountain/River/Wind/Zenith are independents, knowing someone is more lined with a celestial body does not convey information about which aelementiri s.he also follows? Anyway I think it is placing a lot of expectation on a campaign book not teased to be the conclusion to have a new god having an active part in the narrative.
  7. I won't be the first time they just mix different animals. In AoS, horses are the weird ones. Warhammer quest is a possibility. But I think they are just all going to be part of the vampire band for Direchasm.
  8. Also there is only so much mold they can use at a time in their factories. They have to plan a rotation and make stocks. Sometime a mold is not estimated to be worth coming back to the rotation compared to every other one so the models are oop. But because the mold are still useable they can do those Made to Order campaigns they can use the molds knowing exactly how much are going to be sold. So little to no overproduction for better margins. For similar profitability reasons some broken molds are never replaced.
  9. I mean classic in spirit. I think they can easily mess up with people wanting to proxy by tweaking the standard equipment. Like Dwarves still have a classic armor, but with trademarked Karaz Wateva runes (not a problem for proxy), but that lost dwarf army also use swords, or war pipe-wrenches (don't roll your eyes I am no army designer!), gun infantry has shields to hide behind, a catapult throwing explosive kegs... There will be intersections, but if the greybeards still feel they have to buy half of an army again it's a win. It's a tough balance to find between adding what was missing, and removing without feeling like something is missing on the table. Like making what the Mandalorian is to old Star Wars movies. Something different, but still feel like the classic stuff on some level.
  10. Since it's the same studio doing Necomunda and Blood Bowl it's reasonable. I wish there will be a third army available at launch or not long after because only two armies is so limiting so fast. Kislev-Norsca sounds like a natural setup because making the game about historical battles in the Old World is geographically limiting. But I think they should have a classic army in the mix in the beginning they don't really support in AoS like classic Ork or Dwarves. It is a game made because of nostalgia after all.
  11. Anyone who think the Old World is going to be the new Fantasy Battle and replace AoS is going to be very disappointed. The game isn't WHFB 9th edition (it's in the name!). The development team is small, there is not going to have enough release to fill the void. Therefor their favorite faction is probably not going to be supported at launch so they won't support the game. The only faction they revealed they were actually developing model for isn't the Empire, or lost Bretonnia or Tomb Kings, but KISLEV, it should enough set up the expectation of the game not being the WHFB they pray for.
  12. It is a black library event. They won't reveal anything about a campaign/rule book. Maybe be a promotial character model, but it will be related to BL book, not the current campaign.
  13. In my opinion stripping and start over is a terrible advice. There is something extremely satisfying to have your first miniatures with their original paintjob. You can see the progress you made in your hobby journey. Obviously it is a little cringy at first but it the feeling will become more affectionate with time. And between those first minis there is some in the middle that can have a little improvement. Without stripping, the paint, a little patch up where you missed a spot, add some quick highlight and shadow can make an old model pop in amatter of minutes when the full process will make you waste hours. Plus the strip and repaint is extremely boring. Doing the same minis you 've done before is a chore. You will always progress and you will be tempted to do it over and over again. Stale and trapped in your hobby. You are not, Sisyphus, I am not imagining you happy about that.
