  1. I only gonna say that if you have so much problems to play with the coven throne and his spells and do it work then it isnt a problem of the coven throne. A model with 12" move fly and a spell within 12" and you have so many problems? Then better play with a army that havent spells because nothing gonna be so easy to pull off than a beguile of coven throne with 12" range within,12" fly move vs a army with 4" move And yes theorycrafters are wrong maaaaany times(kharadron is a bad example because they were a bad tome as theorycrafter said,untill general handbook did as a 30% reduction in every unit) As i said in other post coven isnt overpower and wont win us every game,it is a easy to kill target with shooting. But have a huge damage multiplifier ca and a spell that in some mathups can do a autoloose in a win and also it is our best option for non named heroe to equip items. People think is bad and wont use it? Great but dont give bad excuses as it is hard to pull off a beguile spell lol
  2. Hnnn no. Zombis are good,yes. But we have many others units that can do the same so they arent must have(to me they arent even great) But coven is a must have because in the actual meta the top armys usually have one deathstar unit buffed,and we can do that deathstar useless with the coven,so it is a key unit and even if you dont want call it a must have,not because it is overpower,but because we havent other unit that do the same. Closer is belladona getting wolfs engaged in a unit,but this only reduce the numbers of models that can attack us due to pile in toward dogs. And also if soulbligth is middle tier(as it seems gonna be) why gw nerf one unit when it isnt even close to top? And if gw nerf coven and buff the useless units(skeletons,black nigth,wigthkings,fell bats) then i gonna be happy but i have 4 armys and even if i hate play with my fyreslayers againsth the coven i dont think need nerfs or be overpower because against armys that havent any powerfull key unit or can shooting the coven out of play in one turn it is useless. To sumarice,the coven is a key unit due to his spell that gives us many options in competitive but 310 is high points and i even think that his cost for his stats must be something as 260 so i dont think be nerfed never even if people use it Edit: also helps that every good hero is a named,we havent heroes that can use the items or abilitys from the book(vampires on zombidragons are bad,necromancer and vampires on foot are only 5 wounds and slow,wigthking on horse would be ideal but he is useless) so that the coven can equip items and so is a reason more
  3. ????? Nothing limiting the hearthguard output???? Last time that i read my fyreslayer tome we havent nothing to disengage and charge again. So coven use his spell on the hearthguard and charge them,then you can give then double turn to the rival if you want and hearthguard are 100% useless and enemy is wasting 150 battallion+400hearthguard+140 battlesmith+120 runefather+120 runesmitter because usually all these are around the block of buffed hearthguard and wont can go to buff other unit due to 4" move. So to me(and many theorycrafter in youtube the coven is a must have and a key unit for competitive) the coven is the best unit of our tome,300 points for do useless 1000 points of the rival,also the best ca of maybe all aos
  4. As fyreslayer player i can say that hearthguard is hard,but can be very easily useless if the death player have the tools. The coven throne for only 300 points do the 400+500 points of buffing heroes hearthguard useless entire the game Chaff units as skeletons or zombies to keep them busy. Or kill with magic and fly units to his weak heroes. I dont mean hearthguard are weak because they are maybe the best melle unit of the game,but we habe maaaaaany options to win against them. And with aos3 deleting battallions they wont can attack twice neither get better than 4 save
  5. These rules are soooo cool,powerfull,fun and news as the transform in wolf\bat.....all these are the oposite that we get in our tome lol plain,weak,boring skills for our non named heroes

  7. They cant do this,armys as citys or stormcast have as 30+ units to choose and not spam but other armys as fyreslayers only have 3 units in total(non heroes) to choose. So if they gonna put rules to stop spamming units then they must release a second wave of models for armys as fyreslayers or ironjaws

  9. I got bored of waiting for some release of fyreslayers or dispossesed,so i started a souobligth army that gonna keep me busy for a looooong time(pretty sure when i end the project in 1 year or more the dwarfs gonna be as now and nothing new)
  10. I gonna get one starter because i was going ti buy 2 graveguards and now i pay the same but i get free two units. Yes they are useless but free and the wk mounted is a must have to buy even if i never play it because it is pretty

Sure both units dont have healing and as you said skeletons have 5 save but.....for same cost skeletons are 30 wounds and zombies 40 wounds so without the healing skeletons are worse in magic and shooting if we compare cost of units But last post about skeletons,im pretty sure nobody gonna use them in competitive because they are useless and need too much specials situations to only be a little better than other units. If people are happy with skeletons good for you it is great
  12. My maths isnt off,i redid it with the 4 to wound and edited the post. Also i did the mortal wounds too,but i compared to no save enemy because it is the easier Yes vs armored targets the gap is smaller but also can be said with tanking,i did the numbers with 0 rend enemy attack,if we do numbers with rend then shield is also worse the gap

Yes.....but now do the same numbers if the damage is from magic,shooting or leadership or skeletons attack first.or if the unit is deleted full So yes Zombies are better in every situations if full supported Without support and the 4++ active then skeletons are very little better Without support and the 4++ dont active zombies are as double better So yes, in perfect scenario and situations skeletons are marginally better tanking than zombies But in realistic games zombies gonna be better tanking than skeletons Also zombies outdamage skeletons in any situation

If we take grave guard as example and as example 12 wounds done to us Shields die 6 2 hands die 8 So shields are as 25% better Damage output Shields 3,3 mw and 8,8 damage 2 hands 3,3 mw and 16,6damage So 2 hands do around 66% extra damage As you said if the extra damage gonna be lost due to overkill of course shields are better. But then we can bring multiple msu 2 hands units and the damage wont be overkill.
  16. Its 100% the oposite for any min\maxing dude, nobody gonna get the shield as never. Shield 16% better survivality 2 hand 100% more damage The diference is as.........no chance of getting shields
  17. Yes they are useless and garbagge. If enemy kill all the unit then they are only a unit with 0 damage and 10w with save5 or if you attack before rival,or shooting,magic etc Too much conditions for only a 4++ In a game the 90% of the time they gonna be useless and even as objetive grabbers dogs or zombies are better

  20. I hate goonhammer reviews. They are criers with the review of their armys and then every other tome is all great and powerfull And this tome is other example. They say that deatless sumon that have been nerfed into the uselesness have been improved and is great now,also gravesites also nerfed now are better. Oh and vampire lore of spells that every spell have been nerfed......theh think got a nice overhaul and they are better now!. It is pretty stupid that review,all is a rainbow an all is great, as if something before was a 10 and now is a 2? For them now it is great and better!

Wave 2 would be great because we have many gaps: Terrain Endless spells Vyrkos elite wolfvampires of cursed city as separate kit Big zombies of cursed city as separate kit Vargyrk or vargulf wolf as i call him in separate kit These are a must and then others options: Vampire on steed Vampires troop on foot
  23. She is great,the extra wolf is toptier as defensive tool. We can use the extra wolf sumoning it at the back or at edges of a unit and then we charge with something to that unit center and enemy gonna have to pike in toward the wolf with some models and wont can pile in toward our main unit engaged . To me she is autoinclude in every list as graveguard+necromancer combo that is veeeeeeeery top(even more damage than the fyreslayer combo)
  24. This is the best sentence to describe this tome even if we ignore the power level that allways can change with points changes. This was the reason that i got bored playing city of sigmar after some games and i enjoy playing fyreslayers. Need keep 99999999 wholy within 12 auras is a chore and the game isnt fun even if you win or loose
  25. Sure have a 4++ IF the enemy dont kill the full unit AND attack after rival. In other situations are 85 points for 10 wounds with 5 save,im sorry but to me they are useless. Even doggys are better as objetive holders. For only 45 extra points(50% expensiver) they have 100% more wounds than skelys and 100% more damage. Only if every star align and skellys arent wiped and attack second they are a little better tanking but allways worse in damage
