  1. haha well you can probably generalise that to: "compare what gutrippaz do to <enter random warscroll> do..." a personal favourite is dire wolves given how similar their profiles are (same except wolves have higher move & bravery with a better warscroll ability for 135pts vs 180pts...........)
  2. I don't think so. Also they should be releasing the special model that they gave during LVO some time during fall so you can pick him up at that point if you like
  3. re gutrippaz I would agree they still look very over-costed but to add to what others have pointed out, the new 2-rank fighting rule also makes it so we can go hakkas for an improved wound roll. 2x10 gutrippaz + 2x10 hobgrots in grinnin blades seems like a solid base for list-building now. Hopefully at some point they fix either scare shields (to not be a joke) and/or poison (to be useable also when in combat) and we are looking at a world where the price tag starts making some more sense..
  4. sadly seems no point reductions, or is there still hope for that pdf? gutrippaz could potentially deal quite some dmg in the battalion yes, but they will also get hit by other bounty hunters and explode. and they are slow, I think you want to put cav units in the bounty hunt squad without dropping points fairly significantly I think we are still one of the weakest books..
  5. guys just came to mind, shouldn't eels be pretty strong as bounty hunters actually... that +1dmg on melee will spice them up real good and they obv have the movement to position for the charge..
  6. Eels feel pretty dead, I believed mixed arms Thralls/Reavers/Sharks seems to be the way of most lists
  7. ok so gutrippaz should actually benefit quite a lot from this new bounty hunter battalion as doing 2 MW on 6s (or 5 with poison) could be quite spicy. (and the +1 to wound from swapping to hackas i guess doesnt hurt either)
  8. yeah thats true... 😅 perhaps possible to cut the spears and put an axehead with a magnet or something... quite a lot of work though.. ill probably just tell my friends they are extra choppy spear-looking axes 😂
  9. cost I agree but also the poison cant be used when in combat, and we have no way to protect the shaman e.g. like they are doing now in death with bodyguard for buff heroes (necromancer, spirithost, belladama etc) edit: and also gutrippas are fairly squishy with low armour and bravery, u then need to add even more points for killaboss to deal with battleshock. they are like skinks imo, warscroll suxx but u can buff them to be good, only for some reason they are pointed like buffs were already built into the scroll...

  12. hmm so 2 different views... any formal sources that you could point me towards? thanks! Edit: found the Seraphon FAQ and it indeed says clearly scaly skin does not affect MW, so I would assume that is then the same for the other abilities as worded similarly

  15. would be great ut they could make alarith proper anvil, give then 4+ ward or smth like Phoenix guard. keep dmg low is fine but at least make them hard to kill and maybe change the ability to push people to be a bit more impactful in the objective game, more like the orruk brutes maybe.. they seem to like playing with the 3.0 reactions as well so maybe huracan could get some bonus to redeploy to make them even more annoying ^^

  21. not sure it works as the Orruk Warclan rule says that each unit keyed "Orruk Warclan" must be in Kruleboyz/IJ/Bonesplitters or big waagh. Now Kragnos doesn't have the OW keyword but Gordrak does... so unless they have clarified that elsewhere I would read it as he can only go into IJ or BW...
  22. yeah but the krondspine is plenty fighty so 725 doesn't seem too bad for that package given utility, durability and output of those combined. compared to what u would get otherwise (eg turtle + 10 thralls)

Ok, so was playing around a bit with lists based on the Krondspine incarnate and this is what I came up with, I think it actually looks pretty interesting with some synnergies: Fuethan Hold the line Eidolon of Sea (General, Endless Sea Storm, Spell: counter current) Soulscryer (Dritchleech, Heal) 10x Thralls 20x Thralls 10x Reavers 3x Shivers Lifeswarm Krondspine incarnate (linked to eidolon) *Battle reg for 2 drop (could reinforce the thralls again to 30 for 1-drop but figured we need the MSU set up to cover board more), or perhaps drop the shivers so a shark unit could be 2x instead.. So idea is that you place thralls in deepstrike with scryer. Try to split enemy force with eidolon in between and engage one half of it with sending in Krondspine, deepstrike + shooting. Try holding off other half with counter-current / redeploy / screen with reavers/small thrall unit. List has quite a lot of healing with prayer + eidolon spell + lifeswarm and has plenty of good targets for that between krondspine/eidolon/sharks. Casting should be extremely reliable given that eidolon will have +1 and re-roll, and opponent will have up to -2 (artefact on deepstriking scryer and the krondspine if close enough). Eidolon with cmd trait should be able to chain off spells thus and (I suppose a bit depending on how FAQ lands) cast quite a number of spells. Quite different from the usual blender king + cavalry but I think it might have some game so wanted to share. comments/improvements always welcome Cheers
  24. pairing this one with eidolon of sea seems pretty good since he is quite a durable hero and would benefit massively from the casting bonus
