  1. That is my greatest fear to be honest. Beasts of Chaos should be the big bad of the Era of the Beasts with Kragnos and Morghur locking horns by the editions end while the continents crack and burn. Meanwhile Yndrasta should realize that she is going to have to choose a target and toss her magical spear at either the deadly God of Earthquakes or a literal Devil of Mutation and Terror. During this Lord Kroak casts a powerful spell to keep the Realm from tearing asunder. The wounded God will retreat and the winner will become the dominate force in Ghur. Instead I think we will just get a new plastic Beastlord and hopefully some decent rules. Then the edition will probably end with a stalemate and the Orruks having a fun little new subfaction. 😢
  2. I wish that they had instead opted to make Incarnates tied to the different realms with a total of eight. I also think they should develop eight pieces of terrain that can be swapped for faction specific terrain. Alternatively 4 Incarnates, one for each of the Grand Alliances might be a happy medium? Either way I think one per faction would unfortunately result in the same sort of unfulfilled promise represented by faction terrain and endless spells.
  3. I feel like rumours have slowed down and that is part of the excitement about tomorrow. I truly don't know what to expect and therfore I am keeping my expectations in check: Something Goblin Related probably Underworlds related and some Space Khorne. Still hoping for info on the next narrative events in both 40k and AOS.
  4. Also how can they release a Grots/S2D dual box so close to the Chorf/Silent People boxset that @EntMan revealed after a shamanistic vision after mixing a near fatal dose of hopium and copium?
  5. Akifane was used in conjunction with the strange demonic teaser for Arks of Omen, presumably the name of the entity but could also be the type demon/machine hybrid? No we do not know for certain about the Incarnate, but I was basing it off of the rumours that are currently floating around.
  6. How could I have forgotten Critters and Keys Games Workshops premier Fantasy oriented game? Are we truly getting our first Clockwork Critter or is it a dastardly Kharadron Critter Catcher? I am really excited for Friday's announcements, strange as it is mostly narrative focused but I am really excited about the Arkifane and the Incarnate. I am likely not going to pick up the spider spirit, but I have a friend that is obsessed with the various Spider models that GW produces and he is going to go nuts if we get a crazy Spider spirit. Plus we will hopefully get some new terrain as well. Still really hoping we get a little more but if those were the major reveals I'd be alright.
  7. Yeah the reference to the machine and the description of the robbed cultists give me the impression that this is tied to the Arkifane and hopefully dark mech. I hope we learn a little more on Friday! In terms of the Image I am going to be hopeful and state it feels very KO although it could be Ironweld. Something about it does not feel particularly 40k. Although it is pretty generic and could fit either system easily.
  8. Shame that the Vampirate box has to split focus with the Malerion teaser. Overall happy I didn't get my hopes up as it was mostly expected releases. Still waiting on Kurnothi and Halfling news 🙃
  9. I don't imagine we will get another big sweeping line refresh with the next preview. Likely something along the lines of the Sylvaneth release. I am going to chance a guess and say Gloomspite, Ossiarchs or Flesh Eaters? Maybe two units and a hero?
  10. Oh I am so tempted to get Archaon. I always loved that model and can slap him on a massive base and not have to use the modern model which I like much less. Alternatively, he is a good proxy for Eternus. How does old Archaon size up next to Chaos Lord on Karkadrak and Varanguard?
  11. I have always wanted to see a Goregrunta Chariot pulling a hunk of scrap metal like a plow that can either have two brutes or a massive warboss. I have also stated many times if they develop siege rules or even just more expanded terrain interactions I feel like Iron Jawz could have some great close combat battering weapons. A massive metal battering ram or a large Orruk with wrecking balls!
  12. I am hoping none of the races get left behind, and that Halflings get added into the mix. I do think the Aelves will need to be aesthetically and conceptually unified at some point, but that is a problem for when they eventually get reworked with new models. Personally I think that something akin to Shadow Warriors/sisters of the Watch would make the most sense. In other words something that can work either in a Wanderers/Rangers theme but with the right paint scheme can fit the aesthetic of a City of Sigmar.
  13. These are really nice, I think that between Cities and Guard Games Workshop is proving that even the Neverchosen can like some boring humans. Of course if I ran a cities army I would still make it entirely Duardin and Aelves... but at least I'd genuinely think about adding some boring humans. Now slap some spikes on them and give them a few Mutations and then we'd be cooking!
  14. Thank for the response, I knew I was probably far off but I needed to ask as I was interested if HH could function as a template for Old World but I guess not.
  15. So I haven't really been following this thread and I am going to ask a really silly question that I has piqued my interest. Since learning a little about Horus Heresy and how it might impact the rules development of Old World. So here are my confusing thoughts, which I have tried to word as well as I can. But I will understand when this gets countless confused face reactions as I am probably explaining these ideas very poorly after a long day of work. Please forgive my ignorance of Horus Heresy and any specific Old World rumours, rules or announcements about Old World Rules I may have missed. So is it the case that all Horus Heresy units share a basic set of profiles for unit types, then the player determines their specific allegiance (Traitor or Loyalist) then their Chapter? If that is the case would we potentially see a similar sort of army dynamic in old world such as a set of profiles for Humans, Orcs, Elves, Beasts, Skaven, Dwarves, Lizardmen and the all important Halflings? Taking Elves as the example you could then have a set of profiles and weapons that would apply to all elven units then you could choose to have them be Wood Elves and gain certain benefits lets say deep striking, or Dark Elves and gain other benefits lets say bonus offences? Alternatively you could make a human army and then decide due to your focus on Cavalry, you should make them Brettoinans or Araby for special rules for heavy or light cavalry respectively. But you could still use the rules for Empire, Kislev or Norsca if you so choose, so long as they fit your theme and maybe have benefits to magic or shooting making them a nice alternative? Sorry, if my whole idea is way off base but I think that would be an interesting approach to the game, but likely would involve loosing some truly characterful units. For example War Hydras don't have an easy fit in Wood Elves and High Elves and Steam Tanks seem very specific to Empire.
  16. Sooo looks like my Chaos knight Army is going to be done this Christmas. I guess that means no Custodes or AOS Battle Forces though.
  17. I am emotionally prepared for the Battleforces being: 40K: Space Marines, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Iron Hands, Space Wolves, Ultramarines AOS: Only armies that I want but shouldn't start because I haven't begun my SCE. What I would most want: 40K: Harlequins, Chaos Space Marines, Chaos Knights, Imperial Knights, Dark Eldar, Custodes AOS: Beasts of Chaos, Cities of Sigmar/Dispossesed, FEC, Sons What I expect: The Valrak rumour.
  18. Yeah I am excited about it but in the same way that I am excited when a video game balance patch doesn't destroy a character I like. My Beastclaws were largely left alone but my Stonehorns and Thundertusks seem much more fun to play. They also finally gave what I most wanted and needed Gnoblar Synergy. I do have a few disappointments about the lack of new model support and still wish some of the more unique models like the Fire Bellies had a more significant role in the army but overall it seems like a nice update to the rules that did not need to reinvent the wheel. Slaves to Darkness on the other hand just seems unbelievably good both in terms of rules updates and new models. So it is hard to balance the general excitement of the new Ogors with the sheer joy of the New S2D book. Luckily as someone with both I can now add my new chaos knights to my backlog as I get busy Smashing Lines of heavily Armoured Knights with angry monsters that charge through their line to eat some tasty objective camping cultists.
  19. Turns out the new Maneater Models just put on some spikey armour and started worshipping the dark gods!
  20. I think they have just done the classic jedi pull the cloaks off 'lets dance' move!
  21. Here is a fun batrep showing two subfactions squaring off. Megatron vs Starscream, it is helpful for people like me who have a difficult time theory crafting on man reads book vids to see some of the rules in action. When are we getting our own little break out s2d forum?
