  1. I honestly am getting excited for this edition after feeling the sting of loosing some units and even an army. It seems to keep a lot of the charm of AOS while adopting some of the nicer parts of 40k 10th
  2. As someone that plays stormcast and cities... yes... yes I needed them.
  3. Yeah it really weirds me out that people are calling shenanigans on a monastic order of angelic paladins when they are okay with an order of angelic(themed) paladins in space? Warhammer fans really seem to have their generic tropes and schemes inverted. Next you will see someone call foul on AOS having Goblins which are clearly a science fiction concept.
  4. Wow they are really getting that John Blanche aesthetic in model form now and I absolutely love it!
  5. I am currently working two jobs and burning the candle on both ends trying to follow these rule reveals is always catch up but I keep liking the looks of what I see.
  6. Silly aside, I met Rob Paulsen and Maurice Lamarche recently and want to make a Pinky and Brain Eshin army!
  7. I cannot afford to collect a horde army. I cannot afford a horde army... I can't affor... Oh my god it is my worse fear! They are even better looking than I imagined! Wait can I just get the starter set and then round it out with some elite options... 😈
  8. I always wanted a really complex but cool Warscroll for the varied Chaos Warcry Warbands. It would feature a generic statline that would be consistent across all the warbands. But then you would choose a specialization for the warband named after each individual Warcy unlocking an effect for the warband. For example Iron Golems would increase the save of the unit and Untamed Beasts might give deepstrike. This would make a flexible and unique unit that would encourage people to buy multiple warbands to find fun combinations that feels fitting for Chaos Undivided. Cypher Lords and Scions of the Flame for a ranged harassment unit. Corvus Cabal and Tarantulas Brood for speedy objective takers. Darkoath Savagers and Spire Tyrants for a deadly execution squad. Of course the varied unit sizes, base sizes and different effects would make it nearly impossible to balance... but it still could have been a really unique and cool identity for some of GW's best sculpts.
  9. Enjoy? I like it so much that I imagine it getting reposted onto 4chan as a list of leaks within the hour!
  10. For my units: Sequitors = Liberators Castigators = raptors with huricane cross bows Celestar Ballista = No clue hopefully it is getting an updated model Warcry Units = Darkoath Marauders Warcry Champions = Dark Oath champions and Chaos Sorcerers.
  11. Hey folks wanted to make a bit of a proactive thread covering how you intend to keep some of your models on the tabletop. Will your Beasts of Chaos become Slaves to Darkness or transition to square bases? Will your Sequitors become fancier Liberators? Will your Warcry units combine taking their Dark Oath?
  12. That was a hard read, seems like many of my models survived but I will need to make plans for my SCE Ballista (Castigors and Sequitors are simple proxies thankfully), and I will run my S2D Warcry units as Darkoath marauders. I was actually a little anxious about my beloved Beastclaw Raiders and will remain so with the attitude GW shows between AOS and Old World. As for my beloved Beasts:
  13. This is why I get so insecure taking photos of my minis lol. They look great to me but the second I look at a photo I realize how bad my vision actually is. Luckily even 2 inches from my face and I am still painting for arms length. Luckily my friends and opponents are kind to my abilities haha 😅
  14. So I have always enjoyed the strange nose piece as it provides a bit of embellishment and ties them more into a medieval knight aesthetic. Honestly I love the thunderstrike proportions and these models will make possibly passing on the next starter very challenging. Luckily I am broke enough for wisdom to prevail. I have 2000 points of Stormcast and the only additions I can see making are a unit of Dracoth Riders and maybe Valius as I am likely to get Saviours of Cinderfall.
  15. I am just going to stop seeing every twig, antler and horn as Kurnothi. You have done it GW you have broken my hope of seeing Kurnothi as anything more than supporting elements in side games. 😢 As much as I love them all I have to say number 4 is my favourite composition. Despite my earlier tongue in cheek references to soup, the lore has implied that Grombrindal and Grungni hope to unite the Duardin armies. I assume that Grombrindal will be playable in both factions (maybe cities as well?) if he ever gets a new model and rules.
  16. I assume that zipped mouth is from Duardin fans not enjoying the suggestion of doubling the range of their faction.
  17. I know Soup is a bit of a dirty word for Duardin fans but seeing Grombrindal leading Kharadron and Fyreslayers is such a cool idea. A horde of berserkers taking to the ground as heavy metal airships cover them from the sky reigning hot metal and support to the sharpened axes and battle focused slayers below!
  18. I like the idea that the system is designed in a way that permits degrees of complexity. However, I also feel like there is something obscuring about the way they create a numbered list that feels like a hierarchy for rules. Still I think there is a lot of promise with the idea even if it amounts to simply them admitting that you can have fun with the game even if you strip away some of the more nuanced rules which has always been the truth for introductory games.
  19. I keep hoping we get a full on expansion of the Cities Naval Side. I love the Blackark Corsiars but I want something more swashbuckling like your image. I also keep thinking of a Duardin Gunnery crew that due to their short stature can more easily navigate bellow decks.
  20. I hope for accessibility sake that the colour coding is not hard to read for people with colour blindness, or those who require strong contrast between word and page to read. I assume that has been taken into consideration but I still don't want to see any additional barriers for this hobby.
  21. Since I didn't understand the rules explanation I am just going to assume they have made AOS large scale Warcry and continue happily about my life.
  22. Yeah I think that we (as a community) massively under appreciate the lead times that GW needs to develop these big scale releases.
  23. I think this is clearly relative, I don't think 6-8 years is a really lengthy time for Games Workshop to develop a new design, commission artwork, create updated lore, detail new rules, work on a marketing strategy and eventually release an entirely reworked faction for Beasts of Chaos in Age of Sigmar while also working on updating all existing factions and possibly releasing some new ones that are earlier in their update queue for all their games. I didn't mean to suggest that Beasts were actually going away, or that they would fulfill the same niche as Darkoath. I was merely suggesting that if they were squatted for the edition, that until they got an eventual update, that proxying them would be a possible way of continuing to use the models that people put so much time and effort into. In other words I was just trying to create a hypothetical contingency for those of us that are worried that one of our favourite factions might not get rules support for some time. I also am not meaning to stoke the fires of anxiety, but simply trying to figure out a way to still find some degree of hope in seeing Beasts of Chaos on the tabletop in response to these rumours. I really hope the rumours turn out to be false and to look back at this post and laugh.
  24. Everyone is sad about Beasts rumours including me. Yet the Squats are back, Sisters have an updated army, Chaos Dwarves are getting a rumoured release. Even Silent people got some artwork. Beasts still exist in lore and technically featured first in the AOS cinematic through their god marked brethren. I think that there will be an edition or two of proxying Ungors as Darkoath, Gors as Warriors and Bestigors as Chosen before we get a massive return of our beloved beasts more mutated, surreal and savage than we ever could have imagined.
  25. As a filthy casual I love 40k 10th edition and will likely love 4th Edition AOS even more. I have lucked out with friends that are not overly competitive and willing to indulge in some fun narrative and light house rules to help make the games more fun for everyone. I am always a little concerned when one of my friends armies is considered to be over powered by the competitive scene, only to play alongside my friends and see that they are not playing the meta lists and it always ends up being a pretty fun time.
