  1. I think the 50 points is a hard sell, especially considering that CPs are now critical in a Daemon army beyond Beacon of sorcery; but you are underselling them. They get their Wake of Fire on 2+ for D3 mortal wounds and they have an improved melee profile against monsters. I think what you’re supposed to do with them is fly over a leader and their covering units and hit them with your ranged weapon without suffering from Look out Sir! and finish also finish off monster units that had been softened up.
  2. I wouldn’t use it on Horrors. You don’t get the fate points for when you accidentally yeet your own unit anymore. Now when you roll a 1 it just does your opponents work for you. Do Lifeswarm instead IMO.
  3. You have to allocate wounds to the models with shields to benefit from the FnP again. No more just putting one shield in the unit. I’d probably Suggest you just fill up on Savage Greatblades and Mutants and give the rest Shields. I usually only end up getting 2 of the normies into a combat with a 20+ blob anyway, since the specials are the priority.
  4. You really need the +1damage from Host of the Everchosen for them to shine. Bray Shaman is an excellent choice for ally in a Tzaangor Heavy list, even without the benefits of allegiance abilities.
  5. It should not be exclusive as anything with the TZEENTCH keyword before the game(and incidentally Marks of Chaos count as before the game) should be fair game. At least It DOES lack the ARCANITE keyword though. 15 Chaos Warrior make an excellent tarpit/objective holder. The problem is that right now we don’t know how their Chaos Runeshield interact with other weapons since you can now mix their weapon options. They are also expensive AF point wise. I’m also going to be trying just the one Pinks from the Summoner. I used to just do two of them an a Gaunt for my staples, but other options seem comfortably worth the points now; an while I think they are still insanely good, they aren’t as strong as they used to be.
  6. It’s not necessary if you use the warscroll app. And yes, the Taurus and the Darkfire Daemonrift are much better than anything out of our box.
  7. I didnt think you could miz and match weapons for varangaurd. Am I missing something? Marauders, Knights, Warriors and Varanguard all can mix weapons: https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/8f9bd00c.pdf page 2
  8. It’s actually entirely the unit composition that you get with the SC boxes. You get 1 battleline and 2 conditional battleline units, then 2 different options for a Leader unit, and all the support you need for your Flamers other than the Burning Head endless spell. You have all the models you need for a really solid 1k list. The Aether War box is just a bunch of units that look cool and have no synergy and no battleline choices. So you’re spending at least 80 more dollars(Kairic Acolytes and a Tzaangor Shaman) to get a playable list, probably and probably another 160(2 Tzaangors and 2 boxes of spawns to actually take advantage of the Magister ) to make a solid list.
  9. I don’t play KO yet, but I’m interested in a mixed dwarf army. How is the Sky City that lets you bring In Duardin from other factions? What kind of restrictions and disadvantages do the non-KO units suffer.
  10. I would do the Darkfire Daemonrift instead of the Pendulum if you have it.
  11. Just on its own; no. But it along with a box of acolytes would be pretty decent. 2 Start Collectings boxes are the way to go though. Gotta unfortunately buy 4 boxes of blues and brims to take advantage of Pinks. Because Tzeentch hates your wallet.
  12. I don’t know about BCs, but Exalted Flamers are good for buffing other flamers. So worst case; scenario you could take them off your chariots.
  13. Changeling deepstrikes too, right? So you can save deepstriking him until you have enough Fate Points to summon something else and use him to summon in enemy territory.
  14. @Jaskier All of those synergies with Flamers don’t require them all to be in the same unit, correct? Adding to that, while they are relatively fragile they are excellent candidates for Fold Reality.
  15. Ahh, yeah, FnP helps. Wasn’t aware of that. I wouldn’t use Fold on them; I’d bring in Emerald Lifeswarm. I still think we lose out a lot on the loss of deepstriking our splits though; and keeping track of their points was trivial. Like i said before though, still eminently usable, just not as good as they were before because they were absolutely insane before. I think 2 units are still definitely sufficient for the objective game, I’m going to try going down to 1 though; at least to see what the other units bring to the table. I don’t mind that LoC only has 2 casts. I’m probably only going to summon him in guild of Summoners, and pay the points for Kairos.
  16. Well at least they didn’t botch the streamlining. Locus of Change on them is kinda overshadowing that Pinks have a 1 increment worse save than before. I mean, the -1 hit IS better, but not that much. They’re definitely still above playable, because they were absurdly good before; but people are super over hyping this iteration of them. I’m actually pretty happy about the book overall. I was sick of Horror spamming, now I feel like I can do with just the one unit from the Gaunt Summoner. All the units I wanted buffed were buffed well and got a couple pleasant surprises(100 point Magisters). So at least I can get use out of the 40% of the collection I own. Only real disappointments are the Screamers, who are still better than before, and the Endless Spells.
  17. I think Tzaangors are hands down the best in the “Transformy” chamber. They got a lot of resilience with all the conversions you get.
  18. Ugh that’s a massive nerf to pinks. We don’t gain anything from the split and raged combat is ineffective on a tarp it. Locus is gonna be hard AF to keep all those models in. We can’t deepstrike our splits anymore, and we lost our best spell lore/endless spell casters. Never gonna pay points for them. Just gonna run 1 or 2 Gaunts to get my tarpit.
  19. The new Tzeentch endless spell Tome of Eyes would be pretty useful. You get to reroll casting rolls and it’s an auto-pass on snake eyes or boxcars.
  20. They still hit just as hard as they used to, you just can’t bring them back with Fold Reality anymore, which was never a guarantee in the first place. You know these guys do get used in BoC without that, right?
  21. Yeah I think so. Some of our other heroes got much cheaper(Scribes, Magisters, Heralds and Ogroid and Shaman got marginally cheaper). So it’s probably just pre-epmting the LoC, which you can get if you do Guild of Summoners, or Kairos. We probably won’t need Cogs in our lists anymore Gaunts can now be our “cheap” extra casts. We just have to use Acolytes for our battleline now instead, and they are actually worth it at 100 now.
  22. Sorcerer on Manticore replaced Gaunt Summoner as our Horde Clearer now.
