  1. Destiny dice got nerfed. Pinks got nerfed. Beacon of Sorcery got nerfed. We lost our 4+ horde clearing spell that could hit 90% of the table. Our buffs are mostly on units that were upgraded from “unusable” to useful.
  2. In theory it’s a nerf. But it’s ironically in practice going to play much better in tournaments because Tzeentch’s biggest opponent is the time clock and paperwork errors. Our power units got nerfed but Changehost is going to be flamer heavy now so faster and less exhausting to run. I am pretty ecstatic about the book though.
  3. 3 are ok in just about any list because if you roll 3 6s on your destiny dice you have an excellent chance of deleting a 6 wound hero; but I wouldn’t run them if you’re running Lord of Change in the Pyrofane Cult because he’ll almost always have as many chances as 3 Skyfires to get the Mortal Wounds. Also, now the Reckless Abandon agenda on Enlightened or Tzaangors is probably a better use for high Destiny Dice.
  4. It’s pretty safe to assume(as in go ahead and run it if you have the model but don’t buy it until there is a clarification) that warscroll spells are kosher because warscrolls only say the wizards “know x, y, z spells” and don’t state anything about them being possible to cast.
  5. This is an understatement. They were a staple at 140 points.
  6. The Manticore Sorcerer Lord is really good, as is the Gaunt Summoner on Disc of Tzeentch(20 more points than the Gaunt Summoner on Foot and lacking the ARCANITE keyword, but gains 10” of move and is otherwise the same). The Darkfire Daemonrift is also excellent in our army.
  7. I agree this is generally good advice, but this FAQ also took nearly a month after the book came out. I completely lost interest in building this army and moved on to painting my pre existing Tzeentch army.
  8. I haven’t played any games with them so far, and now that the Tzeentch book(my main army) is out I’m not going to in the foreseeable. But I know a guy who is a new player, he lost 22 games in a row as Blades of Khorne, and now he’s winning games by flipping objectives with the Summons from Ravagers.
  9. 25x2 > 32 impossible is an overstatement but it’s still a consideration.
  10. 25x2 > 32 impossible is an overstatement but it’s still a consideration.
  11. I wouldn't tell anyone thinking of buy more model to build a list with this in mind. This is very liable to change with an FAQ, and change is what our god does. I agree, but I can really see it going either way. We burn through our destiny dice much more quickly now than we used to. Someone who plays OBR told me this and I had to roll my eyes. But it’s always a good idea to wait on buying models we may not need.
  12. Since the Shaman is your only Arcanite leader in there I’d probably drop the Skyfires or Enlightened and an exalted Flamer to pump up your regular flamer numbers. I don’t have my book on me right now. If you do Pyrofane Cult and give the LoC the Artifact; the Skyfires aren’t really bringing anything to the table. EDIT: I’d say drop the Enlightened and an Exalted Flamer and put in 6 more flamers and buy a Command point.
  13. Max great weapons and max mutants. I like the shields better but I don’t think it’s enough of a difference to toss your old ones. If you really want to change them to shields, get some Kairic Acolyte Shield bits, they should make an easy conversion. Your Banner Bearer and Musician can count as Great Weapons if you don’t have the weapon pieces from the old kit, and your leader can be one of the models with the Great Weapons.
  14. You don’t get the point discount on the 30 anymore. The 30 was a good buy when you could. The extra models in the 20 are to keep the unit up past 9 for probably a couple turns in combat, and to keep your special models around longer. And yeah, any 180 point battleline unit is going to have to be run as MSU in lower point games.
  15. I think all that really needs to happen is for them to take Flamers out of the Battalion. Turn the list into a 3 drop.
  16. Yep, that has been my experience. I’ve run 20 Tzaangors in all but about 3 of my Tzeentch games and I don’t believe I’ve ever been able to get more than 3 grunts into combat.
  17. I didn’t bother reading the rest of your post because it has always been a terrible idea to run a 10 man Tzaangor squad.
  18. Tome of Eyes let you reroll casts and snake eyes or boxcars the spell auto casts and can’t be unbound but you take D3 damage. Burning Icon gives out random buffs or debuffs but it’s really easy to benefit from it.
  19. The purpose of Screamers is to fly around the board and go objective to objective late in the game. They can win the game for you if you know how to play them.
  20. Reckless Abandon, Burning Icon of Tzeentch and Arcane Transformation giving him more attacks with slayer of kings.
  21. It’s just that there is no compelling reason to buy him if you already have a regular magister. Other than Fun and if you just want to paint the model.
  22. I got good results out of the Burning Icon in my regular(non-slaves) Tzeentch list today and the Tome of Eyes should probably be an autoinclude if a you can take it.
