  1. Sure, some races don't use this type of technology and I think the reasons for that are mainly cultural (as well stated by @Overread), but I agree with @xking, we have a pretty widespread presence of gunpowder weapons.

Not only that, in AoS we now have some cases where gunpowder is almost outdated: think about Ironweld Arsenal, clan Skyrie, or Kharadron Overlords: ranks of flying zeppelin-ships full of steampunk mechanisms, high-tech big shotguns...

I would replace old models with new ones if the new ones look better (this is the case with Slaves to Darkness)

I am also itching for new models for Saurus Warriors,  salamanders, Temple Guards, Krixigors, all heroes except the skinks and perhaps Ssoltek(ish) models though I have a huge Seraphon collection.

I agree. Also I know a lot of players are waiting to start a new Seraphon army cause they want new models. Lizardmen are a distinctive part of the warhammer world, I think a huge release will be very much welcomed.

I have no idea how ready players are to buy new kits for their already serviceable army, just to replace older models.

I don't see the problem... people starting a new army just before the models get squatted it's a fact since warhammer exists. It happens... Just like the elf thing.

I like the notion of leylines and astral manipulation powering their magic. From their celestial vantage point, the Slann could be manipulating magical leylines within realms and between realms, perhaps controlling the movement and positioning of the 8 realms themselves in the fight against Chaos.  That could make for a narrative event on the scale of the Necroquake!

Yeah, I like this motif. I think it would fit, since I can't really see Seraphon fight with Stormcasts, side by side like best friends. I imagine them "super partes"...but who know!

Also I was thinking: with the Eightpoints's siege at the horizon...there's space for a big event for Seraphon soon? Maybe in the middle of the war, they'll come from the stars and they'll make Allpoints their new big temple in the Realms? Ok, now I'm dreaming.

Mhmm. I wouldn't mind them developing more of a stake in the mortal realms as well. Being celestial space travelers is cool and all, but I'd hate to see them only exist during times of battle, or only materializing to fight chaos.

Would be cool to perhaps have them landing their pyramids to recreate their warding/ ley lines. Perhaps trying to continue the great plan, or to enact the old ones plan on new territory. Would be a neat twist for their ancient ruins to be more revitalized in this new setting!

Seraphon's buildings and ecosystem settled in the Realms... yeah that would be pretty cool!

Really new to liking the lizard boys, so not really sure. Still on the fence about jumping into them until I hear about new models. I would like a big release to update the faction, as I'd say they are in a similar state as Gloomspite (Then Moonclan) used to be. Skaven could have used it too, but a lot of the resin skaven do still hold up after all this time. Not so much for the Lizardmen.

They're first book really built them up to be a celestial force, but I can't remember the last time I've heard them referenced at all in the greater narrative. Almost to the point they seem absent from everything. Their celestial nature, and the fact they were originally billed as Order Deamons certainly opens the door for them to be a power house faction in the lore. But having them be a huge ally to the stormcast? Lizard men were always aloof despite being the good guys, so they aren't really ones to be shoulder to shoulder allies with anyone.

That, and historically they are enemies of Chaos, not so much undeath. Would be a weird fit unless Archeaon and the chaos gods swing into narrative focus.

I'm not into lizardmen at all (my brother is), but I really hope they'll receive a big update, with new models (a lot of units are very old-fashioned) and a unique event.

I think the fact they are kinda disappeared and their lore is pretty clouded could be a great opportunity to bring them to the present in style.  A reptile-style celestial force? Well, I see plenty of possibilities!

They were a distinctive race in Warhammer, I would be pretty disappointed if they'll receive only a battletome and updated warscrolls.

I've had it confirmed to me that tzeentch, kharadron and a brand new army are coming early 2020. That could mean January or April for all I know.

As a guess I think that new army will be hysh elves.

Personally I also think there will be a seraphon update with new models, but no actual info on that.

Lastly I expect Nurgle, DoK, Idoneth and Stormcast to be updated in 2020. Probably endless spells / scenery for all except stormcast who are due a new release.

I hope that seraphon release will be something bigger than tzeenctch and kharadron... Nothing personal, but I think they deserve it.

If you want to make it more distinct from a couldron of Blood, you could use something like the Realm Key as a topper, or a signalling system to explain the +1 attack.

Agree, what I care about this sort of conversion is to not confuse my opponent with other existing units.
In this case the cauldron is a distinctive piece, I wonder how it could be taken for a hurricanum...
