  1. This is so for the majority of warbands. Implementing the hero with the rest of the warband as a single drop (like the gryph hounds you can place while setting up some SC heroes), or better yet, a hero unit, would make them more interesting.
  2. My prediction is AoS 3. Stormcast have enough warscrolls, they just need internal parity.
  3. SOB are in GHB 2020 though, which implies it's coming out soon. CoS, or warscrolls that perished in the bloodbath of July 2019 were in their old form in the GHB 2019.
  4. And the general on horse in the Rough Riders (which is probably named Nimyard). Which is is worse than not updated, the warscroll still exists, but you can't take the mandatory options anymore. I expect the Blacksmoke battery to be gone though, through loss of points for artillery.
  5. It could be that GW curtailed COS preemptively, but in doing so I think they took too much. Locking realms and limiting options to a single battalion isn't the most interesting of designs.
  6. Mercs are still available as long as the units have points. They are explicitly not tied to GA. Freeguild demigryph knights exist quite obviously.
  7. Yes. But also the individual factions soup books are constructed from.
  8. Realm artifacts were a balancing factor between good and overtuned factions. Taking them away increases unbalance. Not that Cities had much choice in realms, but at least they could take scales in most of them.
  9. To make matters worse, Scourge Privateers are not allies of Cities, so you can't take them at all. Neither are Stormcast, or Kharadron in TE, or Sylvaneth in LC. GW really doesn't want Cities to have choices, by setting the realm and only allowing one batallion.
  10. I think it's bad form to put out a mortal wound spam army at the same time you take away Ignax's scales.
  11. From what I could find 40, but others will be able to give a better answer.
  12. He's on a 50mm round, according to the site.
  13. They already have it: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/09/26/make-your-own-free-city-the-easy-way-sep26gw-homepage-post-4/ Now just to make that crunchy
  14. I hope this means they'll relinquish the forced realms for Cities. Realm gives no choice within itself, so give us choice of realms.
  15. Losing Ignax's scales just when an army with massive mortal wounds output comes out is painful
  16. Do note that the "wariors of the great cities" boxes predate the Cities book quite a bit. At least one of the kits in them is no longer an option (general on horse, with pistol, war banner or shield)
  17. KO is a nod to the engineers guilds of the old world (of which the engineer and gyro's remain), and the name "Overlord" is also the name of the armoured zeppelin of the Squats. The armament of infantry also fits Squats.
  18. Yeah, Cities could use some range for Disposessed, Fyreslayers could use a bit of model variety, and I'm always interested to see what new Kharadron models they can come up with. Female dwarves could also do some existing.
  19. No, it's because the balloons fly them to the highest tiers. I don't think other armies fly as high as Kharadron. Except for flying Gloomspite, but it's a different high.
  20. Hi! Have you considered Ogors? They are the current premier elite faction. Especially the cold ones. That is, until the sons of Behemat show up. Can't give advice about SC and Ossiarch, I don't like either of those.
  21. 5e might be a better comparison. It's running for six years now (3.0 ran 3 years, 3.5 ran 5), and it's intentionally toned down all the excesses to help longevity. Sure balance isn't perfect, but it's no 1e, 2e or 3.x. Still, not a pvp game. I don't know what a good comparison may be without computer games.
