  1. They're not great on their own. However, they can provide a great screen for the Fireglaives and Magma Cannons. 32 provides 40 wounds at a 4+ save rerolling fails.

All convenience and practicality of owning these units aside.
  3. Something to keep in mind:this book was made after CoS. Any book that came out afterwards will have their points changed 3-4 weeks after the GHB comes out in a FAQ. Any pre-CoS tomes will have changes in the GHB.
  4. @VonSmall I must agree this trick is quite powerful. @Ravinsild This trick works for any attack first tricks.
  5. You probably won't need more Gnoblars, so kitties are a good option. They're good for taking with an Icebrow Hunter to deepstrike in the backline. They're not really made for screening.
  6. It's got some good stuff in it. You get a Tyrant, Butcher, 20 Gnoblars and 4 Ironguts. You won't need another tyrant and most likely wont need more gnoblars. You'll need more Gluttons and/or Belchers in the future, but it's nice that you have some to start with. The Beastclaw Start Collecting gives a good amount, a few of those will give you a lot. Gluttons are good, Butchers/Slaughtermasters are great, Ironguts are awesome, Stonehorns are amazing.
  7. I agree, to the point where I would say the most competitive mawtribes list would be 2 FLoSH's, HoSH, SHBR, 4 Mournfang, 2 mournfang, and eurlbad - all BCR. I would say the second place spot for best unit is Ironguts, which is definitely close to number one IMHO.
  8. We're just talking about an entirely Gutbusters list (I think). While that might be the case, I don't know if a FLoSH is worth it outside of Boulderhead. Ehh, probably is.
  9. Oh sorry, I didn't see that sentence! Yes, it is super confusingπŸ˜… It read in my head as : As to whether or not I can fit in 12 or even 10 gluttons, the same can apply for the big unit of Leadbelchers. There's also the Meatfist CA and the slaughtermaster spell that directly buff Gluttons. Yeah, I dont think we're going to convince each other anytime soon πŸ˜‚ Good debate!
  10. Ahhh, that's what the reroll saves is. Yeah, I guess Leadbelchers could be good for that purpose but do you really want to take them relying on fighting armies with reroll saves...πŸ˜…πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ There are no battalions that require gluttons but not belchers. I knew this. What I meant was that the good battalions (read: Goremand) required you to take EXACTLY one unit of belchers and ironguts, forcing you to take at least an extra 80 points of (in my mind) meh. Looking at the book, I see that you are allowed to take 1-3, not exactly one (I think I was confusing them with the Ironguts). This argument of battalions is blown out of the water πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ However, I still hold that there are more ways to buff Gluttons. I don't know what you're missing. Did I have bad grammar or an incomplete sentence or something like that?
  11. One thing I'm a little confused about here is this "reroll saves." Are we assuming the unit being targeted can rerolls saves? As to whether or not I can fit in 12 or even 12 gluttons, the same can apply for the big unit of Gluttons. Now, there is something else here. Gluttons fit better into battalions and have more ways to be buffed. They fit into any Gutbuster themed list, whereas I would say Leadbelchers fit into only some lists.
  12. Lets do some math. In melee combat, against a 2+ save, a unit of 10 Leadbelchers does 6.222 points of damage. A unit of 12 gluttons does 5.481. This is the only case in melee combat where Leadbelchers do more. 3+ save Leadbelchers - 9.333 Gluttons - 10.963 4+ save Leadbelchers - 12.444 Gluttons - 16.444 5+ Leadbelchers - 15.556 Gluttons - 21.926 6+ Leadbelchers - 18.667 Gluttons - 27.407 These calculations were done without the Gluttons' "6s count as 2 hits instead of one" ability. Clearly, Gluttons are superior in melee combat. Now, it comes down to shooting, which we already know is unreliable and meh. Now, you can get 8 more wounds in a 12 Glutton unit for the same amount of points as 10 belchers. If I'm already treating them like Gluttons, what's the point of just not taking the actual, superior, Gluttons? And those small 40 more points for the Ironguts take out 20 more Clanrats. Though, to be fair, Clanrats are not particularly difficult to kill with any unitπŸ˜‰ Sorry, if this comes off as snarky, but I have had very poor results with Leadbelchers whereas Gluttons have always worked out for me.
  13. These are looking pretty good, especially the big blocks of Gluttons! However, I do have a critique that applies to both lists. Leadbelchers are very bad. Their shooting attack is super unreliable and end up being better in melee, in which case you may as well just take Gluttons. I think I would go with the second list, as it has Ironguts, which are Mawtribes' second best unit (Frostlord on Stonehorn being the best). They hit extremely hard. I've wiped out units of 40 Clanrats in one blow! Highly recommend them.
  14. Stonehorns are definitely Mawtribes' best unit. Even taking 4 of them is good. 2 FoS and 4 SBR could be good! Ironguts are also fantastic, expensive points-wise but very worth it. I have not found much success with Sabres and Hunters, but other people definitely have. Gluttons are very good. They hit pretty well, and units of 12 are great walls of meat at 48 wounds! You may want to take a butcher or slaughtermaster so you can cast Molten Entrails, but he is not necessary for a BCR based list.
  15. Are you aiming for more competitive or just fun? I'm not sure how a unit of 20 ardboys is. It would definitely be fun to see, and would be very dangerous if buffed by a warchanter. However, another unit of 10 ardboyz would probably be better.
  16. This list isn't bad. However, I would use the warscroll builder on the aos community site or Azyr over battlescribe, as it can be very difficult to read. First off, you can only purchase only 1 command point. Brutes are meh, taking only 1 might be better. The maw-krusha is very good and you should usually take it over the megaboss on foot, though if you don't have one I completely understand. I like the big units of ardboyz and the unit of 6 GG's, those do very well. I don't know if battlescribe lets you do this, but the best spell to use for the weirdnob is The Great Green Hand. Overall, I think the list is pretty solid!
  17. They're about the same size as Archaon and slightly less fancy, so probably $130 ish.
  18. It looks like the top one with the horns has a Khorne symbol on his girdle. Does this mean it could still work in chaos?
  19. Another fantastic post as usual, mate! Great work!
  20. Thank you! I've heard Weird'Un is really good before, so maybe I'll use that. I've done the maths out for gryph-feather and EA and they perform about the same. The feather gives me the additional 1" of movement, so thats why I use it.
  21. Happy to be able to help! I agree it is difficult to not be able to test lists. Thankfully, I have a family who is willing to play Warhammer with me, though I think they get sick of fighting me πŸ˜‚
