  1. Any word on the warscrolls for the Underworlds warband for Beastmen?
  2. As far as Battalions go, how many are even viable anymore? I find the Khorne one underwhelming due to my Bestigors already rerolling against order, and order being a lot of what I see around, slaanesh is WAY too specific, and tzeentch one is...Ok? But only in certain matchups. The one really nice one that lets you get more attacks on the opponent's side got absolutely gutted with the changes to what dictates an 'enemy zone' with the new CA missions. Is it even worth it to take anything aside from nurgle atm?
  3. Aaah didnt remember the points discount, good point.
  4. Id drop 10 of the bestigors and add in 2 blocks of 10 ungors, 30 bestigors are pretty unwieldy and usually just equate to extra wounds.
  5. Really? Wow, Bestigors have aged pretty well then imo. So is it worth it to bring a full block of 40 Ungor Raiders, or should I only bring the 30? I feel like I should maximize the gains of rerolling 1-2's to hit with a full block, even if it doesnt give me a discount. Or is my 80 points better spent elsewhere?
  6. What are the odds if the StD book comes out soon that the spell and ability the Sorcerer has will.become Mortal only though? Or even worse, StD only.
  7. A start collecting Beastmen is actually a really good way to learn. If you make your Ungors into bowmen you pretty much get 500 on the nose and you get a great idea of everything Beastmen have to offer.
  8. With Warcry people are thinking the next battletome set will have StD. It just makes too much sense with mosy of the warcry stuff getting StD
  9. For casual itd do fine. They compliment eachother fairly well. For serious? Doesnt stand a chance. Slaves to Darkness are low on the tiers atm and Beastmen see fringe play only due to about 3 units out of the whole book. If you want to make it work for a stiff competition, a mix of Marauders and Bestigors could prove good. Marauders are essentially the same as Ungors but human flavored. Bestigors are less defensive but highly mobile Warrior equivelents. You just want to be careful about stuff that only interacts with race keywords, such as the big walking shrines from StD only effecting mortals, which Beastmen are not.
  10. How are Chimeras and Cockatrices? I'm thinking of grabbing one for my new Beastmen army. The Chimera seems pretty like a glass cannon, dies to a stiff wind but can pretty much thanos snap an entire unit off the board.
  11. Are Gors any good at 70 points now? Or are the other two options (un and besti) still better?
  12. Ah, forgot about that! A small boon, but still a thing.
  13. Is there any real reason to take the Skullmaster (herald on juggernaut) over the throne herald? Same points, worse profile
  14. 5 can get an icon, its 10 for a glaive. And note they changed it so the leader cant take the glaive.
  15. Whats the thoughts on Skull Cannons now? Are they worth taking in the reroll hits battalion? Or would I be better off just babysitting a unit of 3 with a slaughterpriest and save the 140 points?
  16. Why would it be anything more than an endless prayer? Its not like it needs any more complication. Pay for a prayer, summon it with a priest, done and done. Let the prayers themselves do the heavy lifting for rules.
  17. I dont think they can use the god book stuff, but they can be effected by the buffs in some cases. Although 90% of the buffs target "mortal" units, things like the Blood Stoker or Slaughterpriest prayers do only need the khorne keyword, allowing you to target Brass Despoilers with said heroes.
  18. The issue is that the reroll charge and even its battleshock ability both require you to get into CC first. This SEVERELY cuts down on the number of times you get to use these powers.
  19. So im making my first Beastmen only list (previously just with BoK), is Gavespawn as obviously more powerful than the rest as it seems? It just seems to have so much more direct power than either of the other two.
  20. So for the whole deepstriking ability great frays give you, why would I want to deepstrike on turn two with the dark frays ability?
  21. Whatever triggered second. If its a passive ability, its always first for example. So since Taurus hits the board after a command ability triggered to fight first, it has priority. First on, last off. Like a stack of dishes.
  22. We are getting endless prayers, and a Mighty Lord of Khorne is going to be the cover art
  23. I'm going to imagine we are going to get three factions. One for mortal-heavy, one for daemon-heavy, and one for mixed. Judging by what other factions have got, 3 seems like a pretty good number of subfactions. I could also be dead wrong.
  24. IMO Khorne Allegiance gives you three heroes that add an incredible amount to the army. Bloodstokers can use their whips to add 3" to advances AND charges to a unit, effectively adding +6 movement to your Bestigors in a turn since they can advance and charge, Slaughterpriests can buff your Beastmen in radical ways (+1 to hit, +1 to save, I heard you like Gors with a 3+ save) and finally, Bloodsecretors. I don't think I need to tell you how good a battleshock immunity and attack multiplier unit is for ANY army.
  25. Not so! Gore Pilgrims is incrediy versitile for your list. Both Secretors and Priests can buff everything in your army, and the battalion simply expands their range and succesful prayers. And the tax for taking isnt too bad, only needing at least 170 points of reavers and warriors. At its cheapest its 710 points, leaving you with a lot of freedom to build out from there. As stated before, gore pilgrims essentially buffs everything youd bring.
