Yeah whatever the 4th edition launch box is, it's not something we're going to figure out logically by analyzing patterns and whatnot. Order v Order (So SCE vs malerion elves) to me sounds just as likely as SCE vs S2D, honestly. SCE vs Malerion makes way more sense, but that's from a pattern and personal desire standpoint which all gets colored by the communities I interact with. My point being that the stuff I read into is definitely not the same as the stuff GW has used to make the decision. It really might even be not SCE in the box. CoS could make sense there, but I have no idea if that makes sense to GW. As far as a wishlist goes though, I HOPE it's Hashut vs Malerion. I hope both of their respective god-models (or godlike champions) are in the launch box too. I know there's no way that'll happen, but boy oh boy do I want it!

I’m feeling cautiously optimistic for this game. In the short term, i just hope it has an enjoyable and replayable gameplay loop. I’m the medium term, I hope it doesn’t have too many severe bugs. In the long term, I hope it does well enough to represent the majority of AoS factions one day. Can wait for gameplay!

Except they had the “The Old World” article about them. One of the only reasons i was excited about this project was to see new models for factions that didn’t make it to AoS (which we’ll get at least some of, thankfully). The big reason, though was to see some genuinely new stuff like Kislev that AoS will probably never have. If Brettonia/TK are 70% ancient models and you have no Kislev, no Cathay, no Araby, nothing truly “new”, then there’s really no reason for someone like me to play TOW. I’m happy for those that are hyped, but I’m not really down for more ancient models, personally. On an unrelated note, I’m really worried about the “day 1 pdf only factions”. In AoS, that got a lot of armies squatted. I may see my Legion of Azgorh go in the trash yet again lol

Wait, what about Kislev? They did that whole preview for old world for kislev way back when and now they’re not in the list of supported factions, so I’m decently confused.

Instead of a zoo manager, they should make a tabletop tournament organizer game. Instead of creating exhibits, you make premade tables. Instead of adopting animals, you allow various flavors of nerd into your rented convention center space. instead of dealing with escapes and animal illness, you resolve rules disputes, clean up flipped tables and distribute Mountain Dew.

It's silly because these kinds of confusions would be easily clarified by designer's notes or parenthetical insertions.

For me the key bit is the part. If you look at the Realmgore Ritualist's "Desecrating Blood Runes" ability, it's clearer (at least in my mind): Note the lack of the phrase "1 friendly unit on the battlefield". To me, that makes it appear that each ritualist could use desecrating blood runes once. EDIT: To be fair the Keeper of Secrets' "Excess of Violence" ability uses "any friendly units" instead of "1 friendly unit". Maybe that's the difference maker? I'd still love an FAQ clarification here.

Yeah, hopefully they address this ability in the FAQ. I'm not clear on that either.

So the new Bloodsecrator Rage of Khorne ability can only be used once per game regardless of how many bloodsecrators you bring, right?

True, but mine are painted and such, so I figured they wouldn't be worth as much.

@Whitefang So I'm gonna go sell my Phoenix temple and Wanderers before they are worth nothing, but what about my demigryphs and Griffons? Should I sell those as well? Will they get new sculpts? (If they get new sculpts, I'd rather sell and then get the new)

Does it say that though? Don’t destiny dice have specific verbiage to make them count as unmodified? I guess we’ll have to see if they include similar wording here

At first I saw the Brettonia stuff and thought, “Oh wow, that’s much more Brettonian than I expected.” Then I saw the Tomb Kings stuff and for a very brief moment was extremely confused. If you can’t tell, I’m a pictures-first, words-later kind of person lol

I love the rumor. Just what the thread is for! I do not, however, believe it. It definitely sounds like someone just sat down and made up a list. Also, that list has pretty much only wanderers getting bretton'd (which being realistic, I'm pretty sure more than that will be lost). Also the city list doesn't make a ton of sense to me. It's really a stretch for me to believe they'd remove Living City, specifically.

Part of the lore for Duardin is that they have to argue about everything from the best way to read/write books, to beard maintenance, to orruk slaying, etc. This is how TGA honors these longstanding traditions.

I wouldn’t hate an option to play them together (in the same vein as Legion of the First Prince was), but I would still like to see the separate battletomes maintained.
