Is no one else surprised that they have entirely squatted tyrion now. I knew it was coming but it does seem odd we just have to forget he ever existed. Especially as teclis is still clearly a magic guy. Tyrion was a good representation of martial elves. Completely getting rid of him just seems weird.

People must be massively naive these clearly broken and awful kindergarten grade rules are written to sell the latest models. It weren't a coincidence the keeper of secrets was the most overpowered unit in the game for its first year of release. And its hardly surprising five minutes after releazing the ancient plastic demon Prince model for std is overpowered it get the nerf bat. How are people so blind do they think this multi million company is some drooling bunch of imbeciles. The rules are made to sell models. It's your bad luck when you buy old beasts of chaos sculpts. GW don't care about you or your battle tome they care about selling new stuff. Let's wait and see the new teclis warscroll I'm sure he will be a shy retiring type.

Worst by far was cities of sigmar no viable builds without buying two new whole armies to go with your existing dwarfs/empire/elfs delete as a appropriate. A total gutting of all entire ranges within the army. A despicable act and heinous money grab. I'm sure the army will be squatted by next year. We don't want normal humans when we can have more storm cast. Best is gloomspite gitz the new stone trolls are the best model kit I've painted and built in an age. And it made old warhammer fantasy units viable and better the entire opposite of cities of sigmar mass squatting and degrading of old units.

Agreed on the maps yes the mortal realms are vast but why can't there just be a map of the local area the story you are reading is taking place in? Another problem that is a foundation of the setting though. It's so big nothing really matters. A city of millions killed there, a billion chaos warriors destroyed over here, what does it matter in the epic scale of the mortal realms? Very little. The best fluff and lore GW ever did was the end times books. They were amazing. Right up until the entire world collapsed and was destroyed. Oh well...

So people are saying dark harvest is a great read. Real shame that cities of sigmar seem to be the go to faction for all aos fiction now and a real shame the army is almost non existent in terms of support from games workshop. Can't even buy a model of a priest of sigmar, or a witch hunter or any hammer weiliding sigmar human now. They are killing there own lore by gutting the model lines.

The stormcast books are unreadable twaddle in large parts. 'Bromdus lightning butt strode through the valley of skulls hammer in hand to fight the skull reapers of the blood tribe of blood. FOR SIGMAR!' its just awful stuff really childish and poorly written in places. I've tried to read both realmgate omnibuses and they are hard work. The realms offer some interesting possibilities but the factions are rather too focused sometimes to create great characters and stories. Most memorable characters I've read of have been humans living in a city of sigmar or a chaos warrior . Every other character is written as what they are. A fyrelsayer is an angry fire dwarf a witch elf is a murderous witch elf. Writers don't seem to be able to create different personalities for characters unless they are a generic human. The 40k stories are sometimes truly awful. No wonder sales have slumped.

I just don't get why GW haven't released more for their new dwarf factions? Any person who plays age of sigmar could come up with three new units for FYreslayers and kharadron that would be cool. Magma monsters? smaller lizard cavalry? Fire cannon? Kharadron you can basically do whatever you want as they have near enough modern tech. Large battlesuit? Submarine? Machine gun battery? Mechanical cavalry? Instead they are left to languish on the two boxes of troops they got each four years ago? The kharadron essentials have still not sold out online and tzeentchs went very quickly. The poor duardin didn't even get dice. The kharadron are officially now the least supported army in age of sigmar 2.0 no scenery no dice, no spells and a model range that in terms of unique bodies is around 20 total. Such minimal support is astounding. Oh well I'm sure the next storm cast chamber will open to fight the pointy elves in the summer. Kharadron deserve better.

My local store owner has said the aether war box is the slowest selling box he has seen from games workshop for age of sigmar. Including blightwar and wrath and rapture. Seems tzeentch and KO just aren't a popular pairing. Also I hope people are wising up to the disgracefulness of hiding exclusive models inside hundred pound box sets. Blood of phoenix and aether war have both fallen flat now so hopefully we see a change away from this disgraceful practise and they start releasing models vital to peoples armies.

That practically been confirmed as exodite eldar raptor. They are fighting tau in the upcoming 40k awakening. Definitely not seraphon.

Yes but that thick armour like scale was dreamed up by a frog now. I much preferred the spawning pools and misty jungle temples than hypnotaods acid trip lore. Seraphon are a very cool species group, their models just don't look good enough anymore compared to some of the creatures and armies we now have.

Integral?? Which novel have they based around them? Which expansion? Which battlebox where they in? Seraphons last battle tome was 2015. They are as integral as the stir River patrol are to age of sigmar. Would not be a shock if they went on last chance to buy in the next few months.

What this new years day announcement blatantly and obviously shows is that seraphon are going to be another one week release window battle tome with no endless spells and no faction terrain. GW do seem to actually be full on killing off the old army's now. Most won't reach 2021 of that I'm sure.

Every other battlebox release last year sold out within an hour. I hardly think it likely GW just over produced this particular battle box out of all the others. The tzeentch side is also very lacking in interesting options but tzeentch far outsells KO.

As predicted GWs lowest selling army continues to be its lowest selling army. Kharadron overlords I think are finished as a faction after this. I've seen the stats and they have been rejected by the fan base like no other faction has before. Too futuristic I reckon but dwarves were never the biggest selling faction in the old days either. Should have been a 40k army for sure.

Kharadron overlord players should he overwhelmingly delighted with this release. My empire/freeguild army of over a decade is slowly being pulled apart and chopped into pieces by GW and they don't even have the decency to update a single part of the army. For the time being kharadron aren't going to be squatted at least. My army faces oblivion in the very near future. So yes kharadron players rejoyce your army isn't a walking corpse of disinterest and compromise quite yet. Continue having slow sales and very poor tabletop and tournament representation and we shall see though.

If someone can show me a competitive list using my old ironbreakers my empire only units and no dam storm cast or tree people I'll concede that we have the best army book ever but that army doesn't exist. Because GW warped the freeguild army into the dark elf buddy force with their wood elf and dwarf friends. Who need a lot of help from their space marine saviours to win. Long live the old world.

The people playing cities of sigmar are not your twelve year old two base coats and wash I just bought three thousand points of ossiarch bone reapers fools. These are people who have owned their models for decades. And GW decided to give these people the worst army book in age of sigmar. Walk into an actual warhammer shop you would not even be aware cities of sigmar is an army. They might as well release a Brettonian battle tome for people with olf Brettonian armies. They would probably put as much thought into as they have cities of sigmar It truly would have been better to mass squat cities at this point. It just leaves a sour and bitter taste when every other new tome overpowers yours by a country mile. All so GW can stagnate the human dwarf and dark elf line into nothingness. It will all be gone in a year.

Cities of sigmar is by far the worst armybook ever written. GW gutted every old faction cobbled together the plastic models they could still be bothered to reproduce and said these people now live and fight together. Play this until we squat all of you. The Complete lack of a proper human order faction in age of sigmar continues to kill any love I have for this setting. Its clear by next year cities will be once again gutted and even more will be lost and squatted. And I'm sure we will get three new Aelf factions another load of bone people and a magic sky grot and fire lizard wizards long before we see an order human faction The more I see of GW treatment of the old factions. Slaves to darkness stuck with half a model range still in ancient fine cast. Dwarfs almost completely gone high elves totally dead. I cannot wait for the old world to return. Citites of sigmar destroyed high elves, Basically destroyed dwarves and left the only good human representation in the realms ancient empire plastics soon to be squatted. And did barely anything new for dark elf players so what was the point?? Its the crumb we old timers got before our armies are squatted to oblivion.

Ironically this concept is a thousands time cooler from a lore viewpoint and just in the coolness factor than katakros himself

I've cheated in probably every game I've ever played not just warahmmer board games card games everything. It only ever gives a slightly helpful slight advantage. Miniscule. Usually. I do think using this though I could really get some great results. Tournaments I would hope apply a sensible non cheating way of doing it but on my local scene I could easily get a great advantage most games. Its a great rule. And for GW it Encourages sales of their 100 pound freak mutant not dragon not drogon model.

If people are thinking we are ever going to get warcry like mini sets for normal order humans they are sadly mistaken. GW clearly hate normal humans and the very idea of them in age of sigmar. It's the absolute worst thing about age of sigmar the total neglect of the main human faction. Imagine if d and d got rid of the human race??? Why do GW not realise how many thousands of people are waiting for them to release more human factions for age of sigmar. It definitely won't happen though. As their total neglect of order humans in warcry shows.

The cultists are not all Terrible sculpts but the crows and the cypher lords will barely fit with most chaos warrior heavy armies. And the fact these are all monopose and highly individualistic models means that to claim its eight new boxes of troops is rather disengenious. If they were. Multi part plastic kits like the necromunda gangs I would say that would be much better. As it is I might buy one box of iron golems but they definitely won't be something I invest heavily in. Whereas new marauders? New chosen? New warriors I would have bought thousands of pounds worth.

Exactly. Which person is going to run all eight warbands from warcry in their army? No one. Who is going to use chosen everyone. Why are they fine cast still?

GW does not want to update old armies they want people to buy the new fire dwarves fish elves and bonemen made of bones. Slaves to darkness and cities of sigmar will both be gone as factions within a few years. Releasing no new models for this release is crazy. Those old marauders and chaos warriors are bad enough. But to not replace the fine cast chosen? I am gobsmacked. That's just pure craziness right there.
