  1. They definitely had a design shift with SC - the early kits have no bare heads at all. The Sequitor kit is also really bad for its lack of head variety (and pose variety too), though they ones they do have are better than the FW kit.
  2. Yeah when put like that it makes more sense. So how is everyone going to be painting their troggies? I'm really on the fence at the moment for my scheme.
  3. The only reason to take a Treelord is if you've filled your hero slots or if there simply is no way to squeeze the extra points out.
  4. The real pain is the ****** stand for the eels. Negligent design imo.
  5. Aventis is better IIRC (I don't play Hammers, so can't properly utilise him), but both are solid. Points wise it is a little pricey (expect a drop), but there are no other 2 cast wizards in our list so he has a role. There are better options but it is not a bad choice.
  6. That is very possible and has been done before. The issue is that roused by magic affects him.
  7. I feel like I'm going insane here, which is the pennant of the stormbringer for the vexillor? I cant find any clear answer.
  8. I started when AOS 1 came out. I saw a picture of a Celestial Vindicator liberator (they had no background at the time) i one of the books and knew I had to do it. I've been frustrated at times by how they play but the imagery of these ighty turquoise paladins always brings me back.
  9. I don't see the point of 10 Tree Revenants. 2x5 is so much better. It allows for more dynamic and flexible screening and zoning as well as more capacity to redeploy in their back edge and threaten objectives. If any revenant enters combat they usually die (I really wish they had nighthaunt immune to rend)
  10. Just to check Alarielle (if she doesn't use her one time summon) heals 2d3 wounds per turn?
  11. Yes, genuine long range shooting is something very rare and precious in AOS. Combined with Rain of Stars and the Comet (possibly even stormcaller), you can really threaten the heroes of your opponents. Hurricane Crossbows fulfil a similar role to Judicators - medium range damage - but without the battleline status.
  12. Well, I meant the 2+Prime per 5 shouldn't have been allowed. Creates the weird situation where the special weapons outnumber the normals.
  13. Never should have been an option in the book to begin with!
  14. @lifelonghalo I've played AOS on that first table. there are problems deploying wyldwoods, but also there are problems in general that arise from terrain not having a base. You need to discuss what things are beforehand. Does anyone have a good idea what I could use the Fay Enchantress as? I'd like to (in friendly games) use it as a branchwraith, but any better suggestions?
  15. Castigators are just badly designed. They do nothing (except vs 2. factions) that doesn't already exist. They only exist because someone (a weirdo) thought crossbows shooting vases would be cool. The thing is, they aren't bad (like Prosectors), there just isn't any point to them.
  16. Those vents remind me of the Repulsor tank. It is definitely not KO, my goodness. Though they certainly could do with a rethink (with more options and a thorough redesign).
  17. The spells we have are really bad, I think (The Evocators' lore is decent though). Stormcaller has proven quite nice for me, especially in that first turn where most of your spells won't be in range and won't have value for the first round. If you've got endless spells they tend to supersede Stormcaller but that's ok. It is a pot luck but can be very nasty.
  18. I don't disagree with anything you said, but on the upside I think the core rules for unit choices are (in general) good, so a few points tweaks will go a long way. I still don't get why Paladins don't have a 3+, the design concept of Sequitors is bizarre and the Evocators' mortal wound ability is stupid (it is fine on the mounted ones imo). There are a few hero choices that should just be discarded. Lord Veritants are one of them.
  19. These things are best left hinted at. I thought Balthas was a smidgeon too on the nose.
  20. Honestly it should only have ever been 2/5 or 4/10 in the first place. It just seems silly having half the unit with the special weapon.
  21. By that logic everyone would be after Dracoline Evocators, the Tauralon and the Lord Exorcist... but they aren't. Evocators and Sequitors are internally imbalanced perhaps, but the idea that all the new units are immense to incentivise purchase doesn't hold up.
  22. Evocators at 240 may be too much. 220 with the Paladins dropping as described should suffice. They are still pretty fragile and slow, so have some defined weaknesses. Sequitors should be 140. Castigators as battleline if makes some sense, but 240 for your core tax is very cheap... don't know about that. Dracoth cavalry should not be core - there is no reason to further emphasise the value of the star drake. Prosecutors should just be battleline. Would add an additional bit of flavour to Stormcast armies, because they aren't replacing what Libs/Juds/Seqs do.
