  1. I don’t know how I feel. I want the Battletome in person to really read it all a few times and let it sink in. I was always a huge massive fan of the Skulltake Battalion. I may try to once again go down the Skulltake Battalion and Skullfiend Tribe route but part of me thinks Skullreapers were gutted and the Khorgoraths lost their 9 attacks (3 from the Skulltake bonus, 1 from Bloodsecrator) and they aren’t mortals or demons at this time so I don’t know if they can be buffed up again. I kind of want to make a SKARBRAND list but I only have SKARBRAND and 1 Insensate Rage Bloodthirster I don’t have any other demons at this time. I’m not sure what to do. Skullreapers were my rock and my go to choice and my favorite unit. Im feeling a little lost but I guess I’ll see if I can make it work I guess.
  2. You are. Use it at the hero phase. Then after movement phase etc.... at the beginning of combat phase count up all models in range of the ability.
  3. Yep that’s a list I can run. Or the same thing but Ardfist I reckon. Doesn’t really matter to me. I just like hitting things super hard in melee. Ironjawz used to be good at that a few months back. Death is not good at that and believe me I tried really hard. At best I could do some decent alphastrikes with Black Knights but Ironjawz suits my raw aggressive playstyle much better. I could never figure out the attrition game.
  4. Well as of now I personally own 4 Weirdknob Shaman but that’s about it. So that more or less settles it for me. Sounds like I need to transition into a Ardfist Battalion. I only own 9 Gore Gruntas or 3 sets of 3 and I don’t think it’s enough for a Gorefist. Also I don’t own Gordrakk yet only 1 generic Megaboss on Maw-Krusha so it would seem finding a decent Ardfist list is the way to go for me for now. Sad to see the fall of Ironfist and Bloodtoofs. I really enjoy hyper aggressive turn 1 Charge playstyle. I’m planning on expanding my Ironjawz collection more though so it may be viable to run Gorefist in the future. With what I’ve got I have 1) MBMK 1) Footboss 4) Warchanter 4) Weirdknob Shaman 15) Brute dual wielding 20) Brutes with 2 handed axes 60) ArdBoyz with a solid mix of Big Choppas and dual wielding but no shields 9) Gore-Gruntas with Pig Iron Choppas
  5. Honestly I play Ironjawz and hated Death to avoid the whole horde army thing so that list would be my nightmare. @Luzgurbel Megaboss on Maw-Krusha
  6. Well I’ve got 60 ArdBoyz and I like them so maybe Ardfist is the way to go? It’s interesting to see how Ironfist has fallen from grace. It had a ton of focus on it back when AoS 2.0 was new haha. Ardfist was panned as garbage because of the only once thing and ArdBoyz were “worthless” because suddenly they couldn’t save versus mortal wounds. My how times have changed. Man I wasted over a thousand dollars on Death and had absolutely no fun but I always have a blast when playing my Ironjawz even if they are objectively worse as far as power level or whatever goes. Also not too many people play the meta in my area. There’s a bunch of Khorne, Slaneesh, Tzeentch, SCE a few Idoneth and Sylvaneth and some other random stuff with quite a few fellow Destruction players and a super good Nurgle player or two.
  7. So we are looking at: - Adding a mortal wound save artifact to the Mawkrusha Boss - Removing Megaboss on Foot and/or adding a Thermalrider Cloak? - Removing a Warchanter and/or buffing up a unit to benefit more generously from the buffs - Removing the Fungoid Cave Shaman and Cogs. All of that makes sense to me. I have no objections. The question becomes then what do I do? Add ArdBoyz? Do I even want a Wizard literally at all? Is a Weirdknob worth bringing total or should I just leave him at home? I have some thoughts/justifications for some of the above. 1) Megaboss’s re-rolls to Brutes I find personally invaluable, considering sometimes I just need to clear chaff so they don’t get Duff Up Da Big Ones buff to re-roll failed hits. Plus Waaagh! Plus a cool model heh. 2) A Wizard seems like a good idea just to at least be able to deny a clutch spell (Vanhel’s Danse Macabre or whatever) hopefully and to dispel endless spells and for maps that wizards count as scoring on. 3) I’ve heard the 10 strong units of Brutes aren’t very good with the two-handed weapons these days and it’s all about MSU but nonetheless I have 2 squads made up in this way as well. My new list would be something similar to something like this I suppose? Allegiance: IronjawzMortal Realm: AqshyLeadersMegaboss on Maw-Krusha (440)- Choppa and Rip-tooth fist- Artefact: Ignax's Scales Orruk Megaboss (140)- Artefact: Thermalrider Cloak Orruk Warchanter (80)Orruk Warchanter (80)Battleline10 x Orruk Ardboys (160)- 8x Pair of Choppas or Smashas- 3x Big Choppas10 x Orruk Ardboys (160)- 8x Pair of Choppas or Smashas- 3x Big Choppas5 x Orruk Brutes (180)- Pair of Brute Choppas- 1x Gore Choppas5 x Orruk Brutes (180)- Pair of Brute Choppas- 1x Gore Choppas6 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (280)- Pig-iron ChoppasBattalionsBloodtoofs (120)Ironfist (180)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 2Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 133
  8. After half a year and much speculation on the viability of lists, experiments with Bloodtoofs and Ironfist and so forth is there a consensus on best list? I know there’s been a lot of toss up between ArdBoyz being worthless and/or great. I haven’t played my Ironjawz probably since August so I’m slightly out of the loop. Tried out Death and found them to be not to my taste and was missing the simple Ork smash and bash style. Have I missed any major developments? Last I heard something like this is one of the best lists: Allegiance: IronjawzMortal Realm: UlguLeadersMegaboss on Maw-Krusha (440)- General- Choppa and Rip-tooth fist- Trait: Ironclad - Artefact: Miasmatic Blade Orruk Warchanter (80)Orruk Warchanter (80)Orruk Megaboss (140)- Artefact: Metalrippa's Klaw Fungoid Cave-Shaman (80)- AlliesBattleline5 x Orruk Brutes (180)- Pair of Brute Choppas- 1x Gore Choppas5 x Orruk Brutes (180)- Pair of Brute Choppas- 1x Gore Choppas5 x Orruk Brutes (180)- Pair of Brute Choppas- 1x Gore Choppas3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)- Pig-iron Choppas3 x Orruk Gore Gruntas (140)- Pig-iron ChoppasBattalionsBloodtoofs (120)Ironfist (180)Endless SpellsChronomantic Cogs (60)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 2Allies: 80 / 400Wounds: 112
  9. I’ve had some success with it personally. I adore the Skulltake Battalion.
  10. What’s amazing is that I have ALL of these things... except 40 marauders... Oh I also don’t have a demon prince atm. I have nothing from generic chaos/slaves to darkness yet, everything is wholly Khorne.
  11. Well you guys raise good points and originally I did in fact have a Juggerlord. Theres pros and cons to all of it. It’s difficult to decide. The problem is who I cut for the 3rd Priest. The Bloodstoker is so useful for getting the Skullreapers where they need to go and helping them survive rerolling wounds of 1. On the other hand the Juggerlord adds in general +1 to wound rolls which is also super good for them. However another Slaughterpriest is another buff and another source for mortal wounds. Bloodreavers would drop my count, but the Khorgorath is just straight up good. In my experience. Losing an Aspiring Deathbringer is another +1 attack my Blood Warriors or Skullreapers aren’t getting as well. Its like all super good advice, but the Mighty Lord also buffs charging so he’s really useful and well Killy too. I don’t know what to do
  12. Is this about the standard Gore Pilgrims with Mortals only list? I hvent got any flesh hounds or bloodletters at all. Allegiance: KhorneMortal Realm: GhyranLeadersBloodsecrator (140)Slaughterpriest (100)- Blood Blessing: Killing FrenzySlaughterpriest with Hackblade and Wrathhammer (100)- Blood Blessing: Killing FrenzyAspiring Deathbringer with Goreaxe and Skullhammer (100)- Artefact: Gorecleaver Bloodstoker (80)Mighty Lord Of Khorne (120)- General- Trait: Disciple of Khorne - Artefact: Ghyrstrike Battleline10 x Blood Warriors (200)- Goreaxes- 1x Goreglaives10 x Blood Warriors (200)- Goreaxes- 1x Goreglaives20 x Bloodreavers (140)- Meatripper AxesUnits5 x Wrathmongers (180)5 x Skullreapers (170)- Daemonblades- 1x Soultearers5 x Skullreapers (170)- Daemonblades- 1x Soultearers1 x Khorgoraths (90)BattalionsGore Pilgrims (200)Total: 1990 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 146
  13. No, that is the artifact. However if you bring a Battalion you can have 2. So you can bring a totem for Bloodsecrator and another on whoever else.
  14. All of my armies are based only on models I think look cool in both 40k and AoS which basically means I’m hamstringing myself in a really competitive environment and it super sucks.
  15. I would green stuff spewing diarrhea from my clown ass army. On every single one of them.
  16. So. I was watching Let’s Hang Out And Paint on the Warhammer Twitch channel and I asked them if they had heard of your podcast. They said yes, but I think they confused you with something else, so I followed up with, “are their typical GW employee impressions accurate?” And they said they didn’t know, but they’d have to watch. So hopefully we got Duncan and Peachy and friends to actually listen to the podcast. I pray.
  17. Hahahaha that sounds actually amazing. Bronzed Flesh stacks right?
  18. There’s only one problem with that. Would it work with... 30 Bloodreavers instead? Lol
  19. He typically runs 3 units of Hellstriders and all units within 6” of the banner bearer get a -1 to hit and it stacks. Chaos Knights, Hellstriders, Keeper of Secrets mostly. -1 to -2 and they hurt on the charge. Actually I know the list he used last time. He said he’s changing it some but it’s mostly been variant iterations of the same thing. Also he has a Warlord Trait on the KoS that gives him -1 to hit and usually take Gryph Feather Charm for another -1 to hit. His list is usually something along the lines of this: Allegiance: Slaanesh- Host: SeekersMortal Realm: GhurLeadersKeeper Of Secrets (260)- General- Trait: Allure of Slaanesh - Artefact: Gryph-feather Charm Keeper Of Secrets (260)Lord Of Slaanesh On Daemonic Mount(140)Herald Of Slaanesh on Exalted Seeker Chariot (160)Battleline40 x Chaos Marauders (200)- Axes & Shields40 x Chaos Marauders (200)- Axes & Shields5 x Hellstriders Of Slaanesh (100)- Claw spear & Shield5 x Hellstriders Of Slaanesh (100)- Claw spear & Shield5 x Hellstriders Of Slaanesh (100)- Claw spear & ShieldUnits1 x Chaos Warshrine (160)5 x Chaos Knights (160)- Chaos Glaives5 x Chaos Knights (160)- Chaos GlaivesTotal: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 0Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 188 I don’t know all the nitty gritty details about everything but that’s about the sum of it more or less.
  20. Does anyone know the GT list that got 12th place? I’m curious to see what it was. Edit: Also how would you go about beating Slaneesh with their high rend and multiple minus to hit sources? What sort of army would you build to counter Slaneesh? Sadly I don’t have any demons except SKARBRAND & a Bloodthirster with the 2 handed axe.
  21. OH I WILL FIND A WAY TO SQUEEZE IT IN BEST BELIEVE
  22. 1200 points isn’t stopping me.... it’s the 586$ price point.... never the less I shall save over the months and get him because at this point I am contractually required to own all things Khorne I guess.
  23. Actually my maths was off anyway. Arkhan has an innate +2 at full HP, +1 from Legion of Sacrament, +1 for Mortis Engine and +1 for Corpse Cart which means +5 for him and +3 for regular casters (VL, Necromancer). Although, I doubt I will be using a Corpse Cart. What's better for list #1, Corpse Cart or Balewind Vortex: Allegiance: Legion of Sacrament Mortal Realm: Ulgu Leaders Arkhan The Black Mortarch of Sacrament (320) - General - Lore of the Dead: Soul Harvest (Deathmages) Vampire Lord (140) - Mount: Flying Horror - Artefact: Azyrbane Standard - Lore of the Vampires: Vile Transference Necromancer (110) - Lore of the Deathmages: Decrepify Wight King with Baleful Tomb Blade (120) - Mount: Steed Battleline 40 x Skeleton Warriors (280) - Ancient Blades 10 x Skeleton Warriors (80) - Ancient Blades 10 x Skeleton Warriors (80) - Ancient Blades Units 20 x Grave Guard (320) - Great Wight Blades 10 x Black Knights (240) Battalions Deathmarch (160) Endless Spells Chronomantic Cogs (60) Balewind Vortex (40) Total: 1950 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 2 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 126 Also which list is better overall? List 1 attempts to correct the problem with Skeletons, by making them faster. List #2 is to focus down on just pure casting. Absolutely magic focused, but I've heard it has big weaknesses against some lists... Really just trying to pad out bodies with what I have to protect my magical boys so they can do the casting thing as effectively as possible. i guess my main offensive is magic, instead of attacks with this one? Allegiance: Legion of Sacrament Mortal Realm: Ulgu Leaders Arkhan The Black Mortarch of Sacrament (320) - General - Lore of the Dead: Soul Harvest (Deathmages) Vampire Lord (140) - Mount: Flying Horror - Artefact: Azyrbane Standard - Lore of the Vampires: Vile Transference Necromancer (110) - Lore of the Deathmages: Decrepify Necromancer (110) - Lore of the Deathmages: Overwhelming Dread Battleline 40 x Skeleton Warriors (280) - Ancient Blades 20 x Skeleton Warriors (160) - Ancient Blades 5 x Dire Wolves (60) 5 x Dire Wolves (60) Units 20 x Grave Guard (320) - Great Wight Blades Behemoths Mortis Engine (180) Battalions Lords of Sacrament (130) Endless Spells Purple Sun of Shyish (100) Soulsnare Shackles (20) Total: 1990 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 1 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 138
