  1. That is some elaborate response, thank you. Indeed, the -1 rend reduction is very good (and both subfactions have that), and mucktalon (from mumnificient) is more or less a tax, and exactly for that reason I asked for a reaponse because as you say the 4+ fnp and the cloak of flies artefact are great. I still am really in doubt for my next event what subfaction to play, and although the witherstave is one of the best artefacts jn the game, i was pondering with the idea of skippin it in favor of the mumnificient command trait. Especially now with the scrivener and sloppity I think we are resilient enough and could skip witherstave to deal those mw back to the enemy. after readin your rwsponse Im in doubt again, I tought i made up my mind, but now I’m back at: what to choose, what to choose? Well i guess it is a luxury problem and it is kinda nice.
  2. @KasperI like this list, but why did you choose droning guard? If you keep your drones in the back seems to me that you dont make most off the extra movement. To be honest me myself I really like the artefact from the droning guard, but the command trait from mumnificent is so good. I was planning to run this list at a local event with some 10 players, so I’m curious about your choice.
  3. Hey all, I have a rules question considering Wrath of the everchosen, varanguard and slaves to darkness. if I want to run the Knights of the empty throne faction from wrath of the everchosen, the varanguard get the hero keyword and i must choose CA and artefacts from that wrath of the everchosen empty throne, that is clear. But since I’m slaves to darkness do i still have acces to the aura of chaos and eye of the gods from slaves to darkness books? in other words can i make those varanguard hero’s Nurgle for example, be in my own aura and get +1 dmg and -1 to hit in shooting? thx in advance
  4. I have used that in the past, and it greatly improves the range of plaguewind. But I find it hampers my mobility to much, you have to stay real close to one of the portals and i dont want to cast and dispell the whole time. I still play this list defensively and the three boys in the nurgle triangle formation..but I want to move them around and at one point maybe spread them out of each other, late game.
  5. When I have some time I will write down what armies I faced. But indeed against magic heavy lists it might not work that well. But you probably will not be playin against OBR all the time...
  6. Went to Dutch AOS GT with thricefold. 14th place out of 40 players, not to shabby...to be honest I’m quitte content with the result. hope this link still works https://punpun.nl/t/8-aos-dutch-grand-tournament All lists, rankings, rounds are visible. Really fun event had a great time...
  7. Yep. Of you take a pyrofane cult with a witchfyre coven they’ll become: 3+/3+ (re-roll)/-1/1 dmg. Thus with 60 acolytes 3 units of 20, but you can always yield more... this will get 120 attacks and on average 70 saves for your opponent with -1 rend. Bye bye opponent... oh man i really hyped about this, love the acolytes to paint... but now they’re fun to play to!
  8. Indeed, every game where you have to roll dice your bound by the dice outcome and the more a list depends on it (dice rolls) the less reliable the outcome is. And especially against other, stronger magic, lists thricefold crumbles. That bein said, it is a great build to play Nurgle as far as I’m concerned. the chaos sorcerer lord was something i had in mind too. Well i was thinking about the Nurgle sorcerer actually, but your idea is better cause the chaos sorcereror lord is cheaper. (If im correct) I like livin on the edge, Purple Sun stays...until it bites my a..
  9. This is my “old points” thricefold list. Got me 4th place in a 20 man tournament. 2-1 Did not face the hardest lists, but I feel this list is quitte strong. The 2*30 plaguebearers blob is how I used to play the the thricefold too, but I never really seem to need all those models. So one unit of 30 serves me well, the other 3 units of 10 provide more mobility and great chaff to run up screen your GUO’s, hold back etc. etc. The purple sun really works well with the +1 cast guo initially the idea is to use this enedless spell to eliminate hordes, but one of the matches I faced was against new mawtribe, removing gluttons who are stuck in combat with some plaguebearers cause they are slain is not something your opponent likes. (I do need tonsay I was lucky with in all my games to have arcane territory on my side). The geminids are to debuff elite/hero’s and obviouksy yet another source of d3 mortal wounds besides the plaguestorm 3d3. The GUO with gryphfeather charm easily survived a mawcrusher especially since he was also struck by the light geminid. Took me some spells and ...indeed a little luck with my big sword to obliterate that mawcrusher...which by the also had a gryph feather charm. The portal is great for all the endless spells and the plaguestorm. Only matchup i lost was against sylvaneth dreadwood list. I play my thricefold very defensively, hardly dont move in the first two rounds, especially not with the guo’s. But the “mistake” i made against the dreadwood list was that i thought he woukd play aggressive with all the teleport shenanigans, but he was smart and also waited for me to advance to the objectives. I obviously realised that when it was to late and his units of kurnoths dropped from everywhere. He had two units of 6 with scythes...sigh...it was a disaster. (He also had a double turn....not that it would have mattered much...just sayin) so now with the point drop I have 60 points left...I feel that 1 endless spell/wizard is really enough to bring. (You can even only cast one per wizard so I’m in doubt to bring another. Maybe prismatic pallisade against shooting armies) on the other hand I coukd try out to bring some other battelines....
  10. How about chaos lord on karadrak, with some chaos knights, in a Nurgle allgiance list. Make him the general and give him virulent contagion (all weapons -1 rend) and as an artefact virulent blade (on a 5+ to wound 1 damage extra on a selected weapon) works quitte well on the fecund vigor stage..... (or maybe just Ghyrstrike). Did not calculate all the stats, but does feel like he becomes a real melee monster......some chaos knights hanging around him....maybe i will buy a start collecting box.
  11. This would be great IF you could use it on Nurgle units, but the wording of favour of the ruinous powers is applicable for keywords (mortal std nurgle units) . But the daemon prince is kinda cool 3+ save now can fly 12 and better melee stats, worth the option to let him fly with plaguedrones!
  12. Not more than 20, at least 20 is what it says. Anyhow, the changes of the std units makes it hard to run them in a nurgle army. Lot of abilities and spells now only work on std keyword.... i think some peeps here are rather dissapointed.
  13. 5+4+d6 (if he runs)...and please make that conversion, sounds great! (Maybe not a freehand flame but just an S....😀)
  14. Yeah, i would like to join maggotwhatup too, if it exists. What was your list? I noticed in the events I attended recently I didnt face that much -1 to hit anymore. So actually my blightcyst works really well again lat couple of times.
  15. @Dreadmund GW is pushing battletomes rather fast lately, when slaves to darkness and tzeentch (rumors say februari) have gotten there battletomes all of chaos has new ones right! (Beast of chaos, skaven, khorne, slaanesh, slaves to darkness, tzeentch) I guess we are after that.....🤞🏽
  16. Actually the change on at least a seven with two dice is 7/12 which is 58% not 25%.
  17. Yes! Blightkings do look great, I have 30 of them and not one of them looks the same. @Wennberg well I play a lot with blightkings and 10 blightkings with gutrot in opponents back and 10 blightkings with lord of afflictions/and or harbinger with rustfang and/or witherstave running blightcyst makes a lot of opponents nervous at the semi-competetive tournaments i attend. Unless you get that nastry -1 to hit, then it is bad luck.....however, where i play i notice less -1 to hit lists and my blightkings shine.
  18. Shennanigan-ry or not, marauders are Nurgle battleline. To be honest I find the discussion rather boring, it is just personal play style. Nurgles power waxes and wanes, we will be gettin a new tome eventually and hopefully shine for a while.
  19. Exactly my thoughts. And honestly my list would even be more boring, at least in your list you can do some magic and throw some mortal wounds from you PB’s with poxbringer inbuild spell. 👌
  20. To be honest it gonna be a little bit boring for you i could imagine. Standing there makin save rolls, if the opponent hits at all, with the debuffs you have. But it is a tactic, and obviously every opponent with a little sense would indeed focus on the lord of blights. So why not run two LoB’s and ditch the poxbringer and decide, based on deployment and how the game develops on which unit you will use the CA of the LoB. I realize you dont have acces to the witherstave in the setup I propose.
  21. As the title says, what makes an army good? Or, what is the most competetive? Or what is the meta? I have the impression it is all connected, obviously, but I am seriously wondering how people see if an army is good or bad. I have been playin this game for over a year now, but sometimes I still wonder over what is good, independend on the army you play. What are the most important things to take into consideration when building lists for tournaments? I realize it isnt easy to answer just wanted to see the general consensus, if there is any. Is speed important, melee vs shooting, MW output, damage reductions etc. Etc.
