  1. If they go the Slaves to Darkness route they'll probably buff saurus at the expense of skinks. That's just a possibility, though. All I know is I have a bunch of skinks and saurus... saurses? Sauri? Anyway, they're hideous so I don't want to use them.
  2. "Farewell, friend. I was a thousand times more evil than thou!" Anyone else remember that Elric (and Arioch) had stat lines in D&D? I remember my first exposure to the Elric series was paging through my parents' copy of... Deities and Demigods, I think?
  3. I knew that was what you were doing. I just thought you might be curious to know more about Moorcock and the effect his works had on the old setting.
  4. Very much this. I mean, Michael Moorcock is so much of an inspiration for a great deal of Warhammer fantasy... you could argue that his work is more of an inspiration than Tolkien's (beyond the basic formula of humans, elves, dwarfs, and orcs). I mean the concept of Chaos (in the form we see in Warhammer) is almost ripped wholesale from his works. You know why Chaos is represented by the eight-pointed-star? It's to represent the myriad of possibilites that Chaos represents. (The gods of Order were represented by a single arrow). Personally I prefer Age of Sigmar's setting because it lets me go wild creating my own narrative for my army. It inspires the same feeling that DMing did; I get to create a place, a uniform, a mini culture for my faction. Frankly I couldn't do that so much in the Old World. I was playing in a world which already existed, which had defined boundaries. The Realms are so vast and so weird by comparison. I don't have the same narrative restrictions I once did.
  5. @PiotrW With regards to Eltharion, the following wiki article describes his history well enough: https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Eltharion And this link describes both the above and goes into his death during the End Times. https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Eltharion
  6. I'm a little annoyed that they've stressed the Lumineth channeling the power of the sun like a Sunny D commercial. I've been wanting to have a lunar cast to my models instead. No reason I still can't, I suppose.
  7. Looks like the name of our archer unit is Auralan Sentinels!
  8. In all fairness he also exhausted Nagash with wave after wave of his own men (INFORM THE MEN, KIF) before fighting him, if I remember correctly. He didn't go after Nagash in person until the latter had been casting and fighting for weeks.
  9. Aetherquartz has the capacity to dampen magical effects, if I remember correctly. Teclis' Tower of Prios weakened the Necroquake enough to leave Hysh (or at least the areas under his domain) considerably less effected than other parts of the Realms. An aetherquartz tower would be an interesting terrain piece if it messed with the enemy's magic.
  10. I've kind of had an interest in painting a force in Stormwind colors, truth be told, and I think Lumineth would look great with that scheme! What color were you considering for the cape?
  11. An excellent observation! If you're correct I'd say you're owed the promised internet fame.
  12. Anyone else feel like two weeks have already passed and are disappointed there's no Lumineth Lowdown tomorrw?
  13. Who knows, maybe Tyrion will be a dual kit with Teclis. But instead of floating over Celennar's shoulder he's standing on the Spirit of Hysh's back, shredding a guitar. That would look nice.
  14. Net of Amyntok. That's what I want from their spell lore. Delicious Net of Amyntok.
  15. Well, the Community article is out and we don't have any new Allegiances/Subfactions for Beasts.
  16. That's an interesting idea! I thought it was likely a Slaaneshi Allegiance but you've raised an interesting alternative.
  17. I've seen a couple of people saying that swordmasters were in the reveal trailer but I can't find them. Can anyone point them out for me?
  18. I think late March/early April. Which is when my birthday is, so thank you, GW!
  19. I was thinking the same about the Light of Eltharion, but it was the Avatar of Mathlann that lead me there! Archers have been all but confirmed. You can see the tip of a bow matching a Rumor image from a while ago. You can do more with Celestra and Ulthuan than you'd think.
