  1. Didn’t get to the lore yet, I fainted to the unimaginable heights of furry fanboy Mary Sue cheese... so many core rules tossed... into the wind 🥴🤢🤮
  2. Maybe I‘m just old boi, but let me tell you a story of ancient times : castlevania was one of the first crazy awesome Nintendo games... game boy or classic. From 1986 till now with Lords of Shadows 2 from 2014. the grimdark theme and story (arc) was just great. In constrast to the usual western style of gothic horror is had a nice eastern anime touch, without going full booby teens frolicking around. But creepy and strange persons, like the clockwork puppetmaster dude, whose name if forgot or the sexy manipulative vamp, to Death and the Devil making appearances. the anime is quite nice, too 😅 Diverse and well written characters, reasonable acting. Really great franchise imo
  3. Getting people around here to play Cursed City will be tricky, judging on my success with Silvertower... And I need to see a Let’s play first, if it is just St II I‘m not throwing ~125€ at it. My Kickstarter addiction filled up my space with cool Tabletop games. still digging the general design choices for SB... creepy castlevania freaks and baroque iron clad killers are a dream My internal timeline is Cursed City probably around Easter 🐣 Soulblight is hopefully still far out, 6 month...Halloween, 3 month into AoS 3.0 if the stars align 🤩
  4. Make them battleline and I will blot out the sun 🤪 Just like the old 40 wolves lists ... i hope they just hit Lumineth with the nerf hammer, their rules sound ridiculous, like they did with petrifex. those 3 month buy in broken rules are stupid. Still remember getting the hate for my Gristlegore GkoTg and afterwards the „aiming for a fair play trophy“ jibs when I didn’t field him 🤣
  5. no worries, you’ll be fine They showed a new cast of skellis and I‘m not sure what happens to grave guards... but if all fails you can still mix them all into 60 new casts for 3x40 skellis and they’ll look pretty... bat swarms well, everybody is hoping for new ones and the fell bats got new casts...on top the WHQ Vampire hints at a vermin focused dynasty, so pretty save there the hexwraiths, might need readjustment... a new mounted wightking approaches, looking fancy, so you might want to wait and see if they need to be blackknights, same sprue, sooo no harm no foul, if already built, rebuilt, if not possible, repaint
  6. Seeing the floating temple of aelven cheese, I get a distinct anti-treehugger vibe as well... Post-Nurgle tournaments will be interesting
  7. For me, it’s not the name, it is the whole system of d3 hp to summonable... if that system and the keywords stay, it lessens the viability of elite builds. As mentioned, bloodknights, if they should be allowed to be taken as battleline, the „gravesite system“ should include them somehow. Soooo... some rules and overall possible army compositions would be a nice thing to find for Easter
  8. I think the new Book will be a very intense overhaul, with a bunch of new rules and synergies (hopefully). But that all depends how much of Ulfenhain will find its way into Gravelords. The feral vamps and the undead ogors together with the UW band look like pretty different lists might be possible. but if you’ll have to buy cursed city to get your grubby hands on the new meta...tricky Same thing for the new rabble: zombies get new models, bats and possible wolves and rats are a thing, with dedicated heroes so it seems. and then all the persisting old stuff, bloodknights, Blackknights and skellis need to be integrated, the wightking should hopefully be relevant again...all the things LoN is not in the current meta. But I still hope AoS3.0 first in summertime and then SbGl to Halloween, just so that this time our new rules don’t get the „nerf/system change“ hammer right away
  9. Too squishy, too slow and no damage output. Sadly the days of outgrinding over. Too many units can deal >20 damage these days. With all the rend, they don’t have a save... Seasons of war have nice plays of FEC on YT. With the nurgle rot around, it is tricky to get games in. against tzeentch your magic will be crippled, but the fec spells have a decent range, so starting outside the 30“ disspell is possible. Trying to grind through horrors is a mess. kharadron can shoot you to pieces and reposition fast to threaten far away objectives. That is very ugly to deal with. Charging and dealing damage to something vital, then pray to the gods. Heroes always need to be within 3“ to get some extra protection. it always boils down to positioning and target priority..
  10. The whole thing looks pretty cool so far. the general direction from the crazy noble lady to the rat prince looks like fast specialists, while the big brute Radukar, bat hair lady, the underworld team and the still unknown red armored mad man also suggest classic iron clad fighters. options and variety, I hope playable
  11. And I dig the look of all the new freaks... abby or vlad, I kinda don’t care, both had their last stand, maybe it is best to design something new and get on with that. As stated above, Prince Charming Vhordrai is on the run, his story still has a bunch of blank spots , he has a non-Lord warscroll, he parasites the VloZd sprue... before reanimating something that was ended in a kinda rad way and making up another middleweight character that only halfway meets expectations... the new bunch of crazies might be the new troupe for a menagerie of blood suckers. They have a queen , maybe they’ll also get a king...
  12. For Vampire Lords I would love to have an official Anvil of Apotheosis range... basic for 140 like now, maybe with a 5+ ward... choose your dynasty with one power for 30 points... build your own sigvald for 260? Take nulahmia and make him progenitor/ chosen of Neferata with 3+ ward and crazy... or Chosen of Abhorash blender valid hero options have been shown in Hedonites and other books... Be’lakor
  13. See above... Royal mordants battalion let’s you slingshot something across the field for a nice alpha. buffed up flayers or the so called smashbat. smashcaptain Varghulf general in hollowmourne and Royal mordants moves 10“+ run (~7“) during the hero phase, then again during the movement phase...the CA allows to run&charge with +1“ sooo... 36“ average and a 2d6 charge with +1“... 44“ threat range in THEORY downside:reality: you have to land in between movement and running with 3“ distance to enemy units and consider terrain when your Archregent has cast his buffs your bat can dish out heaps of damage, either to hordes or better to an hero wearing an artifact. Feeding frenzy and enjoy... Same goes for Royal mordant flayers: Archregent casts his hunger spell, the transformation spell for 4“ extra... no run& charge, but 16“ movement (no landing) twice with charge...statistics say 39“ (Archregent summons in a Support varghulf for charge reroll and feeding frenzy) Royal mordants are extremely fast suicide chargers... deadwatch has flayers that fight in your herophase with possible feeding frenzy... if you double turn, they can eat almost anything. gristlegore Royal Menagerie is Circus 🎪 and should be treated as such... having 4 terrorgheists healing 2d3 hp rampaging across the field with a first strike GkoTg won’t win on points, but win on style points horrors sadly have no mortal wounds or rend, but if you fight against LoNagash or Nurgle they can dish out quite nicely. Meta wise they loose against flayers, soooo... we are: hero dependent magic reliant fast melee glasscannons If your opponent can hard counter you, (tzeentch or Kharadron) your positioning and target priority needs to be Chefs kiss or you’ll die in an epic charge (scream „for the lady“ and play „Iron Maiden - The Trooper“ or die listening to „God Dethroned - Breathing through Blood“)
  14. Yes, very true. they are my fun list... but still nice when going against Nurgle or Slaves. Or bogging things down. I‘m not sure what I expect from zombies or skellis. A big blob of zombies, cheap, NOT 2+\3+, shambling 4“. the points and the resilience will be interesting and special features. If save and ward stays the same on a 4+\4+ model, zombies should be like 30 points (and still nobody would buy) the merging feature was cool, I could see some „menace from below“ summoning underneath their feet action or a 4+ ward. skellis are not that tricky, they look a bit beefed up, so maybe they just get the „graveguard“ spot 5+ save, real shield for 4+ or two handed for rend...
  15. My 60 zombers with cart, vamp and necro chew threw almost everything A bit slow and unwieldy, but fun...
  16. I think my metal skelli troupe is awesome... the Heavy armor dude with the spear through his chest, the samurai dude, the cloak&dagger stabby. those with the top knot necro were the first minis I painted 👴🏻
  17. @Evil Bob what I say? “See that marking below my necromancer? Show some respect, that figure is your senior by some years...“ all friendly and private games around here, no GW store or similar around
  18. Still no reason to built a big fire and cry, while watching your beloved figures go into oblivion... Same with graveguard and other stuff. I still field naked skellis with scythes from the 90s, of course squared. My green Soul can‘t stand the destruction of plastics and I couldn’t be bothered. guard can be mixed in as second rank or whatever... I‘m not scared what happens to old models. Like your old zombies more...keep them. I‘m more thrilled about the feral thralls and the new bats and vermin and what possible roads the book goes. instead of old families, rather go rabble (vermin and zombies) or go noble (knights) ?!?
  19. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/03/20/warhammer-preview-online-faith-damnation/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=WHTV&utm_content=whtvpreviewonline19032021&fbclid=IwAR0qUg8Lg5Tt-JPCejolSAUEJ8maWjmnuaePPaXsdyJImYeoCy_l9dUyWhY while fanboying over my new soulblight army, I was mentally a bit unstable at times, but... I recognize a Bull Centaure when he tramples me... Do I dare hope against all reason?
  20. No worries, old geezer. Your ancient wisdom and warming tales of long gone grandeur are heartwarming, well, I mean figuratively 🧛🏻‍♂️
  21. But your warscroll ability deathly invocation works... not all is lost 😅
  22. Think about the Dolorous Guard out of the WD as allies, two units of hexwraith to go with your VLoZD... or maybe even Neffi. With her as general, you loose a trait (😓) but with +12hp and the extra attacks from the guard you could kinda use her. Her spell is nice on 10 knights and her CP ability is useful, if she is healthy and near the action, which you wouldn’t want normally. 11hp on 4+ is a shame And on the topic of being stuck in combat... retreat is an option! Just because it isn’t the heroic one doesn’t mean a repositioning might not be cunning. With Neffis spell even flying over your enemies (you’ll loose the charge buff, but sometimes)
  23. I can’t really talk about NH stuff, since I don’t use them...but: Not sure how your damage output will look like, if Hosts buffed by the ghasts and torment are good... same goes for staying power, 6 hosts are 18 wounds, kinda 36 hits... a good charge might cripple them. The torment might heal, same as the vamps, but wasn’t there a hero that returns full models? the torment and the ghasts do the same thing, maybe true in a Knight of shrouds, +1 to hit comes after rerolling 1s or a guardian, with the d6 Regen spell and reroll 1 to wound... still reapers might be better a better option, going NH 🤔 why do you want to play LoBlood? You‘re not using Bloodknights, and while „normal“ vamps also benefit, they are quite squishy ... could go for host (extra healing) or night for ambush sorry for not being that enthusiastic, just can’t see your battleplan outside the buffed hosts... if you have the option to play, just go for whatever and see where it takes you
