  1. If it looks like Halberd, if it's called a Halberd - it is a Halberd. And where can someone find what lenght is appropriate to classify as polearm? And compared to what? Also those 4 armed guys look way higher and are probably way stronger than most common infantry in mortal realms. Which means they don't need the extra lenght to kill everything in their way, whille with strenght, lenght and leverage of 2 arms on one side they can hook mounted warriors off their mounts to then murder them on the ground. Makes sense?
  2. Hmmm, as I'm taking some minies with me on vacation might as well make a pledge: I'll paint a Cogsmith and to try figure out Greywater Fastness paint scheme with the help of 6 brave Hellstorm Battery crew members I'll also at least start painting Garrek's Reavers
  3. So, you have any ideas on how to change store manager's mind or another club to play? And in either case you will still be in an unpleasant situation, because you will be severely punished by official rules for not having you models painted. As per current GHB tournament rules it will be enough for someone with painted army to win 2 games and complete 2 hidden agendas to get more points in 3 games tournament than you can possibly get by winning all 3 games and completing 3 hidden agendas.
  4. Also I'd add that @GuitaRasmus's suggestion is probably the best for you, find people that you are most comfortable playing with and that are comfortable to play with you and stick to them. You will miss out on playing against different armies but you will always enjoy your games with those people. Having a painted army is just something we expect from everyone and there is nothing to be done about it, unless you are my close friend I'd just stop playing with you outside of tournaments if you are half a year in the hobby and haven't made any progress. And if you were my friend I'd just offer to paint your models if you provide all consumables, Anvils are very easy to paint.
  5. I read about half of comments on this topic, this is what I have to say: First: AoS have rules for tournament games in GHB 2019, but I can't imagine how you can enforce changes on your store. Second: if you were playing by those rules you would have jumped to the painting table in no time, 25% of your totall score goes from painting aspect of the hobby. Third: your painting is good and simple enough, all you need is to grind it out, if you start painting consistently and in batches of 5 models you will get better and faster results. And don't tell me that you can't produce at least 1 unit per month, anyone can and it's good enough speed. Forth: never strip your models unless it's a hero and you feel that you grown as a painter enough to make a difference, I'm on a journey of re-painting my SCE army at the moment (because the paint scheme fell off my favor and it was half-assed "last night before tournament" quality) It took me 2 weeks of evening painting sessions to test my paint scheme and quality on a unit of Steelhearts Champions. I have well over 10 000 points of SCE to paint that way. Leave your models as past experience
  6. IMO two main pros of old range are solid support heroes and cheapest battleline. But would still want to take at least one wizard and lord veritant over relictor for unbinds and doggo After filling up your BL with 3 5 man units of liberators you can mix and match Dracothin Guards and Paladins to substitute for evocators creating your melee damage output, than you need to put in some shooting so 6-9 Longstrike Raptors will be a must.
  7. I slightly dissapointed by the lack of armor plates, I'd prefer seeing thigh guards (or greaves) and helmets on all Mortek guards and some more on Stalkers, that would be nice for more spots of color different from the bone.
  8. The battletome one, also App that @flemingmma mentioned called Warhammer App, very usefull tool as it contains warscrolls for every single unit in AoS and Azyr is a roster-building tool available by monthly subscription
  9. Me too, and also other models, the waiting will be hard.
  10. You can run ghouls as mercenaries if anything, but death factions do not really go together too well. Also before you commit you should check out the latest release for death, it an absolute delight. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/08/29/breaking-news-sisters-psykers-and-skeletonsgw-homepage-post-4/
  11. He is going to be great contrast for my SCE and FEC heroes, and yeah, he does look amazing, a real proper general, surronded by his officers
  12. You mean you won't pay the Tithe in time?! How dare you
  13. I'm spinning the ideas of how to change mage's (priest's?) head, I'll also won't paint him black, I feel like the paint scheme is the reason he is the only model I didn't liked
  14. Actually, one guy left the chat on social media leaving behind a message that he sells his aos because of this release, he was that hecking pissed by the look of new army
  15. Probably not the only one, but first to say that in army's dedicated thread I think)
  16. I'm a Tomb King fan and these guys are Tomb King spiritual successor, there is nothing else we will get estetically closer to TK than that. And I will be happy collecting Nagash's Collectors
  17. The infantry was presented in sort of big quantity in the video, at least not SCE type of elite So I expect infantry to be slighty better than common 1 wound chaff, really hope that mounted guys will be good, I already in love with them since I love cavalry and 4-armed constructs will be sort of lesser morghasts type maybe? Really hoping for ranged infantry unit and giant monster for good measure, like a war statue, that would be awesome For rules I'd like to see more MSU / Combined Arms approach considering their elite type apperance and Mortarch that is a paragon tactitian Really no clue what their magic and traits might look like
  18. Also, now Nagash's tax evaders are boned
  19. They are amazing! I'm going to buy this army in a heartbeat
  20. Running meeting engagement is your best bet. There is no need to sugarcoat competetive gaming, if you want to hook those newbies up - organise a begginers day with seasoned players teaching new ones whille they clash against each other. Or do a narrative event. But cutting of what usually goes into competetive lists on a competetive event is a bad idea - how long you think you can do that to old players? How will it help a new player when they will go to a real-deal tournament and get rekt in every single game by proper lists?
  21. Hey @Karragon congrats on your results! How did you liked your spells? I usually run different ones so I'd like to hear your thoughts. Then for the shootcast - it is a rather tough match up to deal with, I had beaten somewhat similar list twice - Beastclaw Raiders with 4 Thundertusks, what I did was staying with my heroes THE HECK BACK so it's impossible to reach me (with shootcast it can mean that you have to go first, because monster's bases are too large to be out of range of ballista's rapid fire mode. And in both games I opened with buffed-up horde of ghouls with Chalice - they move up and anchor, very hard to shift and then they can charge in and tie up enemy's shooting units, so they can't shoot my monsters. And then my TG and ZD with GKs riding them proceed to make a bloody mess of everything on the table.
  22. @T10 I think that you are the one imagining stuff. The Battleshock test is a roll + modifiers An Unbridled Malice refers to a "test" and not "roll" Yes, in warhammer if something has a different name it is a different thing - think about spells and endless spells - they are not the same and mods, abilities and all that does NOT apply to endless spells unless it specifically says that it does. There is no such thing as hit test or save test, there are rolls. This is how things have been in GW wargames for those 8 years I'm playing them and simply by RAW the roll is different to test.
  23. The one thing that sets BS test apart from most other rolls - the target value is also modified. And it would be reasonable to houserule this moment, personaly I'm 100% sure that any of my local TOs would agree on that.
  24. This text defines what a BS roll looks like, if a roll considedred failed when the modified result exceedes modified bravery, than it's considered succesfull when modified roll is equal or less than modified bravery. That's when you force a reroll with unbridled malice
  25. There is a clear definition of what a failed BS test is: From this information I think it's safe to say that rerolls to BS test are applied after modifiers
