    If? It's already up for pre order isnt it? Which is actually my slimmest hope for beasts of khorne. But hey I could stand to convert a neat shaggoth. Plus most of my khorne daemons are the old metal beastial looking ones who will fit right in if I need to summon some gors. I'll survive either way I think but it certainly doesnt look like the edition alone is going to make beasts great. Still any time you get to try a bunch of new stuff is neat.

    I forgot about rallying 40 clanrats though so there's also that. I also want to slap the +1 wound artifact on the verminlord warbringer plus the flaming sword spell and he might actually put out a lot of damage. Not to mention he can heal now too.

    So with the new prayers (curse - target an enemy every 6 to hit deals a MW in addition) combined with 25mm clanrats I'm thinking we could deal a lot of damage. Not to mention the new spells like +1 wound or fly, really benefit our verminlord. Skaven seem like they might not have come out of this edition change too badly.

    I'm incredibly bummed by the loss of being able to run my blades of khorne brass despoiler army but the GHB is coming out on the same day so I can't commit to being gutted just yet as it feels like having half the rules. Also the idea of running allherd and just throwing out extra Call Points every turn seems nice, especially now that every monster we can summon is a little more impactful.

    But... I was responding to you saying: "And yet they add a ton of multi phase interactions that both players can do during eachothers turns and phases. That alone will slow down the game far more then a reduced model count" Change your mind that fast?

    If I trusted GW I'd say they reduced the points because they added the things you mentioned. Imagine if it had just been adding the extra stuff how long games would be.

    At the very least they confirmed today we'll at least get a deep dive article where we will learn that BoC are good at winning the game if they score more points than the other guy...

    My list was running out of blades of khorne thanks to Brass Despoilers so I definitely have some concerns, but as is I only run one unit over minimum size and that's 6 bulls who I would probably break down to 2×3 anyway because of these terrible coherency rules anyway.

    I wasn't expecting a party or anything. I was just surprised the rumor hadn't even been mentioned. I'm starting to think some of you play beastmen because of the kinship you feel from their long faces lol. In all seriousness no I'm not sure I put much stock in the rumors either. The only reason I even mention it is because a more reputable source agreed that some of what was said lined up with his own knowledge so it's a bare spark of possibility. EDIT: It got the whitefang seal of confusion so its pretty much bunk.

    I agree they're unsubstantiated and the fact they claim the first 4 books of 3rd will not include an update to IDK who are still using a 1st ed. Battletome seems suspect to me, but I'd like it to be true obviously and though it may mean nothing GW has shown some overlap between different medium (books, games, etc.) And tabletop releases (presumably for max hype) and total warhammer is releasing the Taurox the Brass bull beastmen rework DLC at almost the exact same time so a plastic bullgor kit that can build a named taurox or an unnamed doombull would be really nice.

    When you put it that way it really feels like (for one cp that we already know you can do for free on a 4+ with heroic actions) they've removed the single benefit that melee had over ranged (dealing damage in both turns) while not only leaving in all the advantages of safety and ease of choosing your target) but also adding on clunky coherency and msu rules just widening the gap between melee and shooting even further. Sure theres counterplay but the counterplay is a case of either hoping your opponent doesnt play around your counter play (screening out small units that might reach his shooters) or your an army that has even rarer tools (long range pile ins without charges, etc.) Creating more haves and have nots even in the counterplay category. There can be rules we don't know about that change my view on it but my view of the 3.0 meta is an incomplete and ever slightly solidifying one, like viewing something through fog as you get closer, and until we see something to the contrary it looks like it will break down into armies that can field particularly powerful shooting and armies that can answer that.

    Do you have any in depth insight into making these guys? I'm about to buy a set of chaos chariots to concert into tuskgor chariot so I'll have some nice leftover horses for just this purpose.

    It seems like a ham fisted attempt to bring back rank and file but done poorly. If we don't get range changes it will never be worth bringing more than 3 bullgors and even then it's questionable because you're losing 33% of your combat effectiveness. I dont trust GW to remember we exist enough to fix that...

    Hahhaahaha this is hilariously incompetent. I mean I guess it shortens the conga line but the cure is worse than the disease by far!

    That's fair. It just feels like the kind of thing that could have been easily misunderstood by a leaker and since we know Soulblight and BR were made for 3.0 it seems like they wouldnt have put batallions in if they're going away. I mean those are printed right into the soulblight battletome right? Knowing they would be invalidated months later? And I know covid screwed the release window but they plan these well in advance and have even said that these last couple releases were made with 3rd in mind. Maybe I'm just delusional because I play BoC out of BoK with brass despoilers and if that doesnt stay then I've got a lot of useless models all of a sudden lol
