Fireymonkeyboy
Hi all, Those of you who've painted chaos warriors, did you do it with the shield arm glued on or off? I usually do shields separately, then glue them, but as the arm and shield are integrated, I wondered about people's experiences. FMB
alasdair
I would say shields off. There are angles in which parts that would be blocked by the shield during painting are visible, so they need to be painted.
Taketheskull
I'd go off too and I'm someone who'll paint shields on if I can get away with it.
Bjarni St.
I lean generally towards "just stick it on, if I can't paint it they can't see it" but (IIRC) the plastic CWs' shields I think just cover the front of the model too completely for that. Xerox
Definetly shields off. Cause they are too big to paint propperly.
RuneBrush
I'd probably sway towards off - Skullcrushers are in a similar situation and make it really tricky to access parts of the model (which you can see). Most important thing is to paint them at the same time, I've lost count of the number of times I've left bits off and not got round to them for months... Barimbino
Definitely off. Like others have alluded to, there are tight spaces between the armour and shield that are very hard to paint but will still be noticeable even when the shield is finally put in place.
