With the impending release of AoS 3.0 I have finally decided to take the plunge and work on my first fantasy army, as I'm sure many will do. My buddy (who is taking up Lumineth as his first AoS army) and I have challenged each other to completely paint 1000pts of our respective armies by September 1st 2021. This log will be where I put my thoughts, post pictures, and ask for advice. as well as eventually expand past our initial 1000pt mark. Currently I have: 1 box of Mortek Guard 2 boxes of Kavalos Deathriders 1 Liege Kavalos 1 Mortisan Boneshaper That should equal roughly 1000pts or just shy, I'll probably model up a Death themed Emerald Lifeswarm at some point. Anyway, pictures: Finished this guy yesterday, this is my test model and the scheme for the army. I'm thinking they will be based in the Realm of Beasts or something like that, hence the muddy/grubby base. I built these guys up to this point this evening, sword arms will be stuck on before paint, shields will be painted separate. As an aside, when did GW go to the bases they are currently using? I'm used to them being flat throughout, now they have that weird depression from the molding process in the center. Weird.
