Deck building apps/sites

Needs pictures and/or raw card texts.

Otherwise it's no improvement to manual deckbuilding.

Either way, I appreciate the effort.

Maybe someone will push it a bit further.

Currently the issue is with GW IP.  I'm more than happy to put card scans or the text into the app, however if that will result in me being slapped with a Cease and Desist I'm less keen as this could result in the Warscroll Designer and my blog being killed off too.  I may have a go with card text though as that might not infringe as we do have a number of unboxing videos that clearly show the card text.

I was watching the live stream of the final over the weekend, and they mentioned that GW are doing a deck builder as part of the Underworlds website.  It'll also contain sample deck builds including some from staff and tournament finalists - they specifically mentioned that the decks of the two finalists from the event were going to be added.

No idea on a time frame, but hopefully it'll be soon.

They mentioned it in the seminar, early next year i think. They showed some images and mentioned it would include a lot of features to help people with building decks.

Excellent to hear, thought so, but lets be honest, it would have been nice to have it now.

What I think will occur is that the deckbuilder will launch the moment all the cards are known to us and the sets are all out. Then this still is super cool to have but in the meanwhile leaves you to know what X or Y does and you really have to dig the websites or youtube for it. In any case though I feel the FAQ topic should also allow players what card X or Y does. However I've posted the videos in the Let's chat's that cover everything. Currently all the info is on the web anyway.

I don't think GW has issues with the information being common knowledge. In the end it's only product marketing and unless you have direct contacts with specialist printing compagnies making your own proxies will result in an obvious proxy.

If anyone wants to know anything feel free to PM in the meantime.

Yup it was confirmed at the seminar that there will be a Deckbuilding app on the website. It was missed off the Warhammer Community update so I'm hoping that they will drop an article this week about it.

I think the issue they have is images being plastered all over the place. It's one thing watching a video of somebody who has been sent a preview copy but it's another when players screenshot that video and plaster images all over the place. At the moment, I would be wary but might change ;)

Feels a little like a fruitless exercise now, but I've just updated for the two Warbands released over the weekend.  I've not the card number of quite a few of them.

I've also added rollovers for a few objectives to see what it's like and if I get grumbled at!

Great to hear. I think they might drop that article, but at the same time as above I wouldn't be suprised if the deck builder became available the moment all cards are out.
There are now multiple videos with all the cards in them though. To me again it's only a great way to market it.

For example, I love the Shardfall card (despite not being 100% sure how it works) because it adds board control. If I knew such cards where in the Core Set I'd be more eager to buy it then knowing there are 'just' cards in there for Bloodreavers and Stormcast. In addition many of the ploy and upgrade cards add excitement because they allow several pieces to be played in a completely different manner. Initially I though the Harverster in Sepulchral Guard for example was the most capable fighter but this isn't completely true.

In any case though, as discussed before the listing will continue and the scans wil be off the TGA :) those interested enough will either get it or find a way to know the contents. At that moment a deckbuilder is nice to have but can also be done in real live with the same ease.
